- The session focuses on how to assess the measurement model output to check Reliability and Construct Validity.
Measurement Model assessment is the first step in the structural equation modelling. As part of Measurement Model Assessment the Construct Reliability is evaluated through Cronbach's Alpha and Composite Reliability. Construct validity is checked through Convergent Validity and Discriminant Validity (Fornell & Larcker Criterion, Cross Loadings, and Heterotrait-Monotrait Ratio).

Thank you for the lecture. I wonder in the reflective model, if VIF is matter. My model shows every values is okay except too high VIF values. My model is reflective model with indicators. In addition, when it comes to calculation in Smartpls, what is the difference between standard algorithm and consistent algorithm? I am not sure this is regarding to reflective and formative model.
Thanks for watching. VIF is normally high for reflective model, this is the reason it is not reported for reflective models. Use normal algorithm if you are not interested in reporting fits. For understanding formative constructs, please watch

Thank you sir, what do when VIF is greater than 5. Reliability and validity values are okay.
VIF is not required for reflective constructs and it may go over 5 in case of reflective constructs.

Thanku so much sir for such wonderful videos , sir can u plz give the citation that if AVE of one construct is near to 5 (as you told in one of your video) and other things like alpha etc are ok then we can say that our convergent validity is establish although AVE is near to 5?

Fornell and Larcker (1981) suggested that a construct’s convergent validity is still adequate if it has AVE less than 0.50, but CR above 0.60.

Sir When we delete an item to achieve significant discriminate validity ie< 0.80 how to write and where to write the information about the deletion of the item. Should it be added in the discriminate validity paragraph or in the starting when you mention the deletion of an item because of factor loading. kindly give some clarity on this.
Mention in the discriminant validity section. Report why the item was removed.

@@researchwithfawad its a pilot study actually. Do you recommend deleting items to increase AVE?
Not in Pilot study. For pilot only check for reliability.
And in my paper AVE is 0.452
It is appropriate if CR is over 0.70.
