Do people still cycle to work in the snow?

I cycle and my country has had snow for a couple days. My city is quite hilly and I've had many moments where my rear tyre has skidded against my will. Fortunately, I was able to gain control back. More often than not, it actually happened more on flat ground than steep ones since I was more confident traveling quickly on flats. Long story short, I don't think it's safe or useful (I cycle because I want to travel fast and not in a car) to cycle in the snow if other means are available.

Not on road tyres. Not worth the risk to me.
