3rd Gen S&W handguns of the late 80s-90s are awesome quality and are greatly underrated. I personally believe these were some of the best of times for S&W.

I bought mine on a Craigslist type website here in Seattle about 10-12 years ago for $5k. Came with Leopold optic but I can't remember which one off the top of my head and 500rnds. At the time the scope was sold for $2500+, I do remember that. Curious what it's worth today. It's on the WILL NEVER SELL list!

Bought my first gun from your online site on Friday, it comes in Tuesday. Amazingly fast shipping, I will be a repeat customer. It’s like an online gun show, I have gotten into some older and one off guns lately because most new releases don’t interest me as much as they used to. So excited to have your site as a resource for my collecting needs.

I really love that Marlin Camp Carbine in .45. I have always wanted one but only seen one IRL. A fine rifle that is built on Marlin's Model 922M .22WMR action.

Never dry fire a Star BM. They have brittle firing pins that are notorious for breaking from being dry fired.

    Re: FN High Power
It is the ultimate and last Browning. When John Moses gave the world the 1911 being the genius he was he immediately realized their was room for improvement. Due to a certain conflict getting in the way it wasn't until the 20s when he could get to work on perfecting his pistol design at FN. He never saw it perfected as he passed away in 1926 in Belgium. But his work was continued and it culminated in the:
    FN High Power.

I've never clicked on a video as fast as when i saw that Camp Carbine in the thumbnail. I've owned one for 3 or 4 years and love my Camp 9. Paid $800 for it and it was brand new without the box. Bore was a mirror, recoil spring was strong. Even the factory buffer was completely intact. It is such a fun little shooted and great for dealing with coyotes

Former NYPD and I carried a S&W 5946 which is similar to the 5906. It just doesn't have a safety. Love that gun. It was definitely heavy while walking a beat.

I had a 5946 as well as a Model 10-6 HB that belonged to my gf's dad who retired from the job in the late 90s. He didn't want the guns anymore as he was moving to Costa Rica. That 5946 had one of the nicest triggers of any DAO pistol of that generation. Better that the Sig and light years better than the NY-2 Glocks. The 10-6 has an old world quality hand fitted smooth action that Smith and Colt couldn't duplicate today.

I carried the S&W steel frame in the 90’s. Yes, they were alittle heavy (compared to our Detectives who carried Sig P226 handguns). I don’t know the relevance of this, but the magazines included with the S&W rattled like a pocket full of coins. Maybe it was the spring, I’m not an armour expert. I just remember a few of us shared that concern. And yes, the entire Dept switched to Glock in one full swoop lol

Find myself picking a star each week, today was a little different. Just too many candidates! So going to be completely subjective and choose the Model 57 8 3/8. Supposing I had one exactly like it, the only reason I would sell it is no worthy beneficiary. Just an outstanding group of firearms in this video.

Hot ammo and gun was a solid performer! I know periodically they pop on to the market. But, magazines are scarce to my understanding?

I lucked out one day in Walmart. Back when they had a very nice gun department. They had ordered in a Marlin Camp 9mm but received a Camp .45ACP. The employee called the manger on duty because he wasn't sure he could put it out for sale. I waited patiently. Manger came over and said..."send it back". Of course I asked to purchase it. He called the Store Manager and they sold it to me for their cost instead of sending it back. New,in the box $305. Score. Yes I still have it. And lots of accessories. Perfect condition.

  • @44hawk28

Strange how they bought those Smith & Wesson model 59 s thinking they were getting more Firepower and that the 38 and 357 revolver both provide more Firepower than that model 59. Mostly because people don't understand what the definition of Firepower is. Has nothing to do with how many rounds the gun has it has to do with the percentage of how many rounds are fired in relation to how many rounds took effect. That's the definition of Firepower. Making a 38 revolver the highest Firepower weapon on the street today, with a 357 close behind it.
Plus you must also understand that the decocker is not a safety it was never designed to be a safety by anyone.
Carl Walther design that 1929 to uncock the pistol.
