Kagoshima and Shimizu ports. Views of Sakurajima and Fuji volcanoes.

We visited the ports of Kagoshima and Shimizu on our Spring 2023 Holland America Westerdam cruise. On this video we combined these two beautiful cities with views of two very different volcanoes; Sakurajima, which it's the most active volcano in Japan with almost daily mini eruptions, and Fujisan which has not erupted since 1708. Steve even got to see Fujisan on his birthday and for the first time on a beautiful clear day. We are really thankful for the opportunity to have these experiences now that we are retired and continue to slow travel our world. Take time to linger wherever you are.

I think 1-2 miles but we love walking and even went inside a beautiful store similar to Home Depot in the states.

How did you get from cruise port to down town and Is there any public bus or shuttle bus to down town and How much?

In Kagoshima we took a quick taxi drive to the tram station and then used the tram. There are videos on UA-cam on how to use the tram (enter on the back, walk towards the front to exit and pay before you do. Have coins with you. On the way back we walked from the tram station to the ship. Bon voyage!!!!
