  • In this video we show the basic problems of FTE's Integral ABS, the most common causes of a malfunction and various solutions.
The Integral ABS from FTE, installed in BMW motorbikes built between 2000 and 2006, was very innovative at the time of its development. However, due to its complexity and the resulting susceptibility to faults, it was only installed for just under 7 years.

    RH Second Life KIT
The RH Second Life KIT replaces the standard ABS 3 from the manufacturer FTE and is installed in the motorbike instead. It hydraulically connects the control circuits to the brake circuits, allowing the braking system to operate as normal without the ABS system.
The built-in electronics ensure that all electronic functions of the original ABS control unit are retained and function faultlessly. Brake light, tail light and speedometer/odometer continue to function as usual after the conversion. Various states can be programmed by the user for ABS warning lights.
However, functions such as ABS, partial integral/full integral function, rollover protection, brake force boosting etc. are omitted. However, the braking power is absolutely sufficient even without a brake booster; after all, these models were delivered without a brake booster as standard.
The advantage is that the brake always works without exception, thus increasing operational safety. A failure with little residual brake function or a malfunction, as is known with the original units, is impossible. Another advantage is the weight saving of approx. 3.1 kg. The original part weighs 4.6 kg, our RH second life KIT only 1.5 kg. The unit is designed to be wear-free and thus ensures the operation of your BMW motorbike for a long time.

I have purchased one of your second life kits and I am very happy with the results. My model year was originally available with or without ABS. To remove the original unit and to revert to "simple" brakes causes no issues. Good product, thank you! 🙂👍

I will never ever waist my money on a BMW ever again . I was quoted 3000 usd for abs pump replacement for my R1200GS. Everytime I had a problem and went to the dealership the price of fixing the parts was always super expensive. 2000usd for rear shock . 1800usd for clutch replacement. BMW sucks
