    The cultural and artistic society “Boka” was established in 1977 with the aim of elevating folk dance to the level of high artistic interpretation. Throughout its existence, the society has been a driving force in the development of culture within its municipality and beyond. It focuses on preserving and promoting the folklore heritage of Montenegro and the Balkans through dance, song, music, and customs. The society places special emphasis on working with young people and collaborating with other associations, organizations, and the local community. “Boka” is a founding member of the Association of Folklore Ensembles of Montenegro and is affiliated with the international folklore organization CIOFF. They have participated in numerous festivals in Montenegro and abroad, showcasing the diversity and richness of their folklore heritage and receiving prestigious awards. Their performances have taken place in various countries, including France, Poland, the United Arab Emirates, Greece, the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary, Bulgaria, Italy, Turkey, Spain, Germany, and the former Yugoslav republics. “Boka” has the status of a traditional non-governmental organization of special importance for the municipality of Tivat and has over 200 active members. Their repertoire consists of 23 choreographies based on dances from Montenegro and the region, each accompanied by an original set of folk costumes. Additionally, “Boka” is the organizer of the international children’s folklore festival “Kolo bez granica” (Circle Without Borders).
