What's really cool about this is that it is called "double painted audio" Which means take your left earbud and you hear the violin now take the right one out and put the left one in and you hear the song without the violin (Idk if the creator did that on purpose or is it just me...)! ONLY WORKS ON APPLE EARBUDS THO! (I think...)
I'm not sure where you've read about the "dual painted audio" thing, but I make music myself, I'm quite sure Kikuo just did basic panning to the string instruments in the song, and it's universal on all hearing devices (headphones, earbuds regardless of brand) except for those with a mono output (phone speakers, depending on the model)
