Color is not my strong suit, I do basic things in lumetri and shoot with the standard settings on my camera. I wish I could manipulate my color profiles more and shoot flat log, but it takes to much for me to get something useable on Sony.
Hello Javier, I have a question regarding pasting adjustment layers from another sequence... I have two sequences in this project .. I have created a few effects using adjustment layers in seq. 1 and I want to copy and paste these into seq.2 ... so I bring the play head where I want the adjustment layers to be but when I paste them they overwrite the clip instead of pasting in the layer above them. And the only way I can do that is if I move the play head to the end of the timeline .. then paste the adjustment layers ... which get pasted in the bottom most layer .. then select them.. and drag them alllll the way back to where I want them... Your method seems to work with the source monitor... Is there an easier way to paste from one sequence to another without overwriting clips? Thank you
Wow 😱... Your channel is full of pure gold. I wish I had found your content before, it has saved me a lot of time editing. I am subscribing right now! Thanks for sharing your wisdom with the world 🙌🏻. Greetings from Colombia 🇨🇴
Came from the razor cut video, appreciate you sharing this, can see why editing has been so time consuming for me in the past. What I love about this video and the last is just the idea space this has given me for how I can make my edits not a chore but a flowing experience!
I love keyboard short cuts! This is very helpful. I always forget about the track patch settings and inadvertently overwrite on the wrong track. Building a rough cut from the icon view in the project bin is going to save me a ton of time! Thanks as always!
OMG! you just gave me a nugget of PURE GOLD! It will take some time to get use to the technique but man! video recipes are A LOT of cutting and removing, trimming and replacing. thank you thank you thank you!
I am not into premier pro, not at all. Or video editing whatsoever. That's why i like your videos and channel. :D It helps me rip the band-aid off in video production as productive as possible and get on with my main quest! Thank you so much for clear and concise instructions.
Thanks Ryan, like I said I like using both methods but I find it faster to select specific b roll by scrubbing the thumbnail view in the project bin in setting the in and out from the project bin to insert to my timeline.
I was using this before, but stopped doing this. Because I find it more time consuming adding clips one by one in to timeline. I would rather add all clips to timeline and do the cuts in there. It is faster doing that way. Then use shortcuts Q, W, Z for cuts, X for Ripple Delete, alt + click drag for copy and replace, ctrl + click drag copy and move.
Yeah it would be cool to see one actively putting in b-roll over an interview. (Because, that's what I'm trying to do right now...) :^) But thanks for the video, a lot of good nuggets in there as I'm about 5 months in on using Premiere Pro... :^)
Good stuff as always...As an AVID editor it kills me to see so much use of the keys on the right side of the keyboard. Avid' default setup is so you can edit with your left hand while your right hand is on the mouse. My shortcuts in premiere are the same. In this case E and R are in and out and V and B are insert and overwrite. Is there a way to copy and paste clips into the source monitor? Would love a tut on that!
I’m not sure about the pasting into the source monitor, but I agree on the custom keyboard shortcuts, I use completely different keyboard shortcuts but switch to the default for tutorials since the majority of people viewing are using defaults still.
has anything changed in premiere? when i set an in-and out point in the thumbnail and try to insert with "," it still imports the whole sequence and not only the in-and out point part. any ideas? awesome vid tho!
A question for you, How to find out if my sequence has a "media missing". Didn't find it yet, and sometimes while exporting it says and I have to spend a lot of time to check each one. THanks
Watch this video and it will clear up a lot for you, a lot of the issues I faced when I started in Premiere are addressed, including the one you are talking about here: ua-cam.com/video/fyMi-bk2dAU/v-deo.html
Those of us who know, know that you don't use JKL and you use the keypad trick from your previous videos. Anyways, is that a custom workspace? Do you like having that big column on the left? Thx #iykyk
I actually like using the default assembly window but I switch my window setup according to how it will best suit the tutorial. Most of the time that means making the tab where I am working in bigger than the others. Thanks for watching Yoni
Hope this process helps build out your rough cuts faster, What should I tutorialize next in premiere pro?
Javier Mercedes Javier thanks for these videos helps us beginners so much! Would love to see a video on your color grading/correction workflow

The thumbnail viewer is a game changer.

Very nice. I'll have to give this a try. I'm definitely in the add to timeline and trim category.
Thanks Ryan, like I said I like using both methods but I find it faster to select specific b roll by scrubbing the thumbnail view in the project bin in setting the in and out from the project bin to insert to my timeline.

Yup! I used ripple delete before too for many years and still do, but I find this method much faster for selecting b roll on top of my a roll.
@@JavierMercedesGood. By the way when is next video? Another B roll? 😁

Mind blown!! Thank you!!

Thank you so much!
has anything changed in premiere? when i set an in-and out point in the thumbnail and try to insert with "," it still imports the whole sequence and not only the in-and out point part. any ideas? awesome vid tho!
How did you get your program workspace set up with only the 3 screens? My workspace is cluttered!
Thank you!
Just great!
