Saw this yesterday at some sidings just outside of Peterborough. I was on a train passing it so I wouldn’t of thought that you would’ve been able to see it from the station, unfortunately

Nice to see that even after 40+ years HSTs and mk3s are still in good enough order to be exported to Mexico.. A tribute to a great design..

And a travesty that they've been replaced with far inferior units for long haul.

Thanks for nice crisp video and unusual moves, and also a station I have never seen on video before!

You're welcome. Plenty of footage from Wymondham in my channel. It's a lovely little station.

@@JimmysTransportMarvels the power cars were moving some former GWR Mk3 coaches to another location. I reckon they'll be exported.

Bound for Mexico eventually. Until then they'll be stored on the MNR.

I saw what I am aure was this HST set, as it was in the same livery, leaving Great Yarmouth heading towards Acle.
I was on the Acle Straight heading to GY.
This would have been, I think, Thursday 22nd at about 18:45 or so.

I was at Ely yesterday to see these HST power cars. Had seen pics but to see the real thing was mind blowing.

Excellent video Chris! I was one of the trainspotters on the platform though the bridge looks to have been a good filming point...

    • @cmeonthemove
      @cmeonthemove  2 місяці тому +2

Definitely prefer the bridge as there's no chance of anyone standing in the shot. Pity it was so crowded otherwise would have said hello.

@cmeonthemove Definitely going to use the bridge for next time, hopefully on Monday with the Pullman ECS, and yes it will be good to say hi one day

Nice vid of class 43. But I did take a note that 1 had 13 X mark 3 passenger cars making it long. The average under B.R. use to be about 8 to 10 passenger cars.

BR was 7 or 8, and the longest sets in normal service after privatisation were nine MK3 coaches

Music is my own composition based on a track I composed about 20 years ago. You can find my original in my 2011 Gallery. Neither are available commercially.

It’s a shame rail operators couldn’t have made up 12 car HSTs in UK, when I used to commute to London, the amount of times I had to stand in the vestibule, luggage areas!

Typical BR track as original or economic layout, have to get out of bed to turn over. As SBB, OBB or DB track works are to be observed, crossovers will be for track speed, both leading and trailing cross overs will be available at least every 10km or less if stations are closer, bi-directional signals and the locos have retracting mirrors for the driver. No stopping to reverse, no reverse in this instance, pass disabled units or do track works. But no investment or negative investment leaves us with what we have got? £££ and time lost.

Such a shame that those GWR coaches are going to Mexico and end up with the crap plastic class 800's with the most uncomfortable seats in the world. Well apart from the pacers, they were things from hell.
