    Brilliant tips. Thanks very much. As a full blown noob with interest in scratching from a rhythmical stance, some of what you've said sounds very much like practicing drum rudiments to a click. In fact, as a time served drummer I reckon there's loads of drum "chops" that could prove quite handy in this setting.
    Once again, taa very much for well presented info.

    Great video as always! Would LOVE to see you document getting better on your non dominant hand. Doesn’t have to have your super dope cinematics if that makes it easier. Could literally be shot with your phone and I’d watch it.

      If you do this I might actually get off my arse and do it too! The barrier is soooooo hard to overcome, but my right hand is my dominant hand and I'd love to get decent with it

    About biting, there is a big difference between imitation and assimilation.

    Great video! This should be a go to video for anyone who scratches. Number 3 was me I use to have a sloppy record hand and couldn’t figure out why my cuts weren’t clean.

    Great video! I'm in the process of beat matching and learning how to blend songs together (I even created two mixes on SoundCloud). Now I would like to implement scratching into it a little bit more. Thanks for sharing these videos. Keep up the great work! New sub here.

      Ah nice. Shamefully I didn't know it was him. I think I was just using all these beats off one of the Wave loopers like I mentioned in the vid. So shout outs to Broke!

    Emulating and biting are different. Even Tiger Woods advice is to imagine your favorite player and emulate them so you can form your own play style. To say you came up with the flare, is biting and people will call you out. Don’t get it twisted my BBoys

    Excellent advice! Can you recommend some loopers that increase in tempo? And yes, let’s see the progress on training both hands! I’ve been using lockdown to work on my weak side, and although it feels like I have made zero progress at times, when I look back at what I could do a year ago vs today, there has been some quantifiable improvement made. Oh! And lastly! Let’s see a video on the dynamic stretches you use before a session. Keep up the good work!

      I'm a beginner in scratching for me I think it's better to first master with one hand then the other one to avoid not learning one at the end and to stress less.

    I like youre videos, so good, im watching 2 to 3 videos of my favorite djs befor the practice session, my favorite tempo is around 90 to 96 bpm to scratch, whats yours?

    • @SiHargreaves
      @SiHargreaves  3 роки тому

      Ah wicked man. I've gone through lots of different ones over time. I'm partial to faster beat 110 or 130 and also 80 bpm now. I used to hate 90 BPM but I've come to quite like it too! I guess my least favourite is 140 bpm as it kind of forces what you can do a lot.

    • @MrFab189
      @MrFab189 3 роки тому

      Over 100 bpm i need way more practice to execute this, all between 90 is so slow, i dont like to scratch slow but its better to learn this too
