When allstar games were worth watching
They didn’t matter then either
Now?? Not so much.
Look how much the players gave a damn back then and enjoying it like they won the World Series. I remember this game and how exciting it was.
The AL all stars in 1994 who became HOFers were Cal Ripken Jr., Kirby Puckett, Frank Thomas, Ken Griffey Jr., Wade Boggs, Ivan Rodriguez, Roberto Alomar, Paul Molitor, Randy Johnson, Mike Mussina and Lee Smith.
Good Job MLBAM.
No point in sitting over all these great retro ball games.
Post all MLB Playoff games from the 90's till late 2000's as well as select nationally televised regular season ball games from that golden era too.
How about that AL starting lineup?! 7 out of the starting 9 became HOFers.
Brings me back.
The NL all stars who became HOFers were Tony Gwynn, Craig Biggio, Jeff Bagwell, Barry Larkin, Ozzie Smith, Mike Piazza, Greg Maddux and Fred Mcgriff.
Ryan Sandberg should have been the starting Second Baseman, but he retired the month before. I believe he still won the vote, and Mariano Duncan as the runner-up was given the start
back in the times when the Brewers were in the American League, the Astros were part of the National League. Also, before the addition of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Arizona Diamondbacks. Time sure flies
What a fun allstar game. Thanks for the upload!
19 of the all stars selected to thev1994 game went on to be elected to the Hall Of Fame. Amazing number for one all star game!!
This was a great game and the landmark of what would have been the best postseason that never happened... that game summarized a whole era. From the Meat Loaf anthem to the Gwynn slide breaking the AL predominance. #1994.
Look at the uniforms... a clarification grey visitors with the contrast of the mixture and not this homogeneous terrible unis now used. #BaseballNostalgia.
Holy crap that Meatloaf anthem
That echo 😂
One of the most fun games in American history
The Expos were still there before moving to DC
When players actually truly cared for the game.
Now??? Not so much.
For shur
The last great all star game then came the players strike that year and the all star game tv ratings started to go down the tank from there.
That’s hot

interleague games just make the allstar game irrelevant.
Says you
How so?
@@Whisper_pikachu I know right? Especially when the All Star Game for a several years after Interleague play was a thing averaged nearly 20 or 15 million viewers.
They needed to replace Dykstra in CF and they put Tony Gwynn instead of Bonds lol. If I have to listen to one more Bonds fan-boy tell me how good of a fielder Bonds was I'm gonna puke. Dude was one of the most overrated fielders in the history of the game. And Bonds and his booger eating fan-boys and are as about as bad as lebron james' fanny boys. Gtfo
I mean, Barry won eight gold gloves, and won his last one at 34, which is usually when guys begin to decline defensively. So, hate him all you want, but, he was a very good defensive outfielder.
だんかん😅
Such a shame that Boob Costas was the lead announcer. He ruined it.
Was about to say the same thing.
His pregame words aged poorly one month later.
Nothing wrong with Costas. Dude knows more about baseball than a 100 of his haters put together.
Most people that bitch about any national commentator- whether it's Costas or Joe Buck Joe Davis or John Smoltz or whomever- are themselves boobs.
Costas was a terrible commentator
