Great interview Jimmy, Jeez Nick is great value, watched heaps of his vids, and he's bang on point about the album (and the band) being lightning in a bottle, and them being captured just as they were with that hunger and energy and the changing of the guard so to speak. Is it too bold to suggest that Steve Harris should be up for OBE for what he has done with Maiden , and Englands contributions to Metal around the world in general?..I think not. cheers mate.
I have a bootleg cd of a different show that has the whole show and it is amazing. It is my favorite Iron Maiden live album. The Paul Dianno era is extremely special! Those first two albums are MASTERPIECES!
I have a Maiden Japan version which is the full set ,17 songs ,distributed by NWOBHM records, it certainly looks and sounds professional with the same artwork and booklet ,the sound is great, 17 tracks, it can be found online , Maidens biggest advantage over the rest of the MWOBHM bands was a far superior rhythm section steve and Clive, none of the other bands could touch those two ...maybe diamond head but not consistently, that rhythm section gave Maiden a more complicated sound and made.them sound ahead of their time
I bought this the day it came out i practically ripped it out of the guys hand when he put it up on the shelve played the shit out of it huge Iron Maiden fan since the first album
the full japan show everyone talks about on youtube is from a different show than the performances on maiden japan. recorded for japanese radio (not sure if it was ever broadcast, though)

this show is from a different night. not the same performances as on the maiden japan ep. it was recorded by japanese radio for a broadcast
