  • A strong support network is very important to help you through the withdrawal process. I was lucky enough to have a withdrawal buddy that I could call almost any time if I felt wobbly and unsure. If you could set one up before you start the process it would really help you to succeed in the long run. I would recommend professionnel support: doctors, psychiatrist, mental health nurse what ever method works best for you. Small reductions in medication is what worked for me after trying 3 times to unsuccessfully taper with 100mg drops. It's too fast and too much of a shock to our delicate system. Do your research and learn lots before you embark on this process so you feel confident you know what you are doing.

This video was very helpful, thank you. I’ve been on lithium 10 years and I’m so over it!

If you feel ready and supported. Start slowly coming off it,in a way that suits you.

Thankyou for sharing sister. I'm wondering what resources you utilized online that you found to be quite informative and helpful and where you can have support? I'm at 1500mg..and its showing that it's effecting my thyroid..my doctor was happy to finally get me at a .8, and I just was unable to share in that happiness with him...I really feel quite strongly to be off pharmaceuticals...it's a very strong desire to just be as I am. Anyways, thankyou again for sharing ♡

Hey, great video. I tapered off lithium and quitapine/ seraquel over three months. Lithium was no problem but seraquel was harder with a bit of insomnia. I've just realised actually, I'm a light sleeper! 😂

I'm on the same combination Lithium Carbonate and Quetiapine, it saved my life, pure magic for Bipolar Disorder. I'm comfortable and my loved ones pretty much most of the time know what to expect from me day to day. My intellect is tranquilised and compromised without a doubt by the Seroquel most likely, I pIay a bit of music and can't quite get my fingers to do all the music I hear in my head but I do good enough. I am not performing to my full intellectual ability but I have never done so, even as a child, there was Anxiety and really Obsessions and Compulsions there from once I started to become in any way conscious of myself, history of family Trauma from war and other abuses. Intergenerational trauma must be massive in general for people. I would love to ease the medication and greatly admire this video. I know even after 14 years on this medication that I'm not in a hurry, go slow, be gentle on yourself, keep a close eye on yourself and have someone very trusted and clued in watching you.

I just tried to come off my antipsychotics but I didn’t sleep for 7 days which really sucked so I must go back on them. Lithium stopped me from going into psychosis or as I see it a spiritual crisis and keeps my mood perfectly stable.

This doesn't sound very controlled to Me. Your body would not like this kind of fast Change...

It's really important to taper off slowly. What's the rush, you have the rest of your life to adapt to being meds free. Chill, it's worth it😊
