The Wavestate is a masterpiece. It's unique like the Wavestation. The quality and versatility of this synth is mindblowing. You can use it as a classic VA, a rompler, a sampler, a wavesequencer... I hope Dan and the Korg R&D team will continue to improve it

Thank you for interviewing Dan! I use Korg synths exclusively for serious music making. I'm hoping Korg includes the PS-3300 FS as a software synth!

    Enjoyed this interview, thanks!
Big fan of the Modwave and Wavestate so it was great to get a "peek behind the curtain" and learn about the development and inspiration for these synths.

This was time very well spent. So much wonderful knowledge from Dan and insight into how some of these instruments came to life. I have the Wavestate and Opsix and I'm waiting for this software 2600. Very interested indeed!

While Modwave looks like a "finished" idea, "finished" product I'd say Wavestate is more like "work in progress" and I really hope they come up with "wave sequencing 3.0". I wish they implemented changing and modulating start and loop points of each sample (maybe choosing to switch between zero crossing points or just linear change), allow to resample what the synth is playing and integrate some sort of (semi-) granular manipulation integrated into that system of lanes. I've recently discovered that super new botanica/petalcore genre and Wavestate seems to be the closest synth to do that kind of sound but with these improvements I mentioned it would be even better for that kind of genres, not only petalcore, it seems younger producers are very much into sample manipulation and granular and future Wavestate-like synths could become a perfect platform for that.
P.S. This talk is quite unique, Dan shares a lot of thought process behind the synths on tech, music and marketing level. Instant classic content for fans of those synths! Thanks Ian and congratulations for finding such an opportunity.

@@IanDixonTDL Tell Dan that his long answers are very welcome, he shares a lot of info about how things are done at Korg and I could easily listen for a couple more hours to him speaking about all that stuff.
