PROJECT BRUTALITY 3.0 Christmas Update - New Light Machine Gun, MP-40 and more!

- PROJECT BRUTALITY 3.0 CHRISTMAS UPDATE, a freshly merged special update for modification with new sprites for Light Machine Gun, Heavy Designated Marksman Rifle, Plasma Rifle, MP-40 and Revenant Launcher. Please note that the Project Brutality 3.0 in its current state is still Work In Progress, so bugs are to be expected, together with crashes to desktop (same with addons, they are not 100% always compatible and actual). The long awaited and teased Christmas Update is finally here, prepare yourself for a nice trip because Light Machine Gun received a new sprite together with a secondary fire mode, pretty chaotic but also dangerous, Micro Missiles. The Light Machine Gun holds 75 rounds in its magazine, this is a pretty potent weapon to use because of its firepower, you can also use the ADS for better accuracy but be careful because when you fire for too long, accuracy decreases. Second firemode are the previously mentioned Micro Missiles, these use 3 rounds per shot (so you have 25 of them in total in magazine) they are incredibly chaotic thus inaccurate at longer distances but their damage output was/is incredible. This is an incredible weapon against masses of weaker enemies, splash damage plus radius simply send them flying all over the place, you can treat this weapon as a miniature rocket launcher but be careful because reloading LMG takes some time. Other changed weapons are the Heavy Designated Marksman Rifle (currently work in progress thus not findable as an upgrade), you might see that the zoom currently is a bit better than currently and well, just look at these precious sprites. MP-40 has got an incredible inspection animation, just look at throwing of dog tag at the beginning when you pick up the weapon, this is a submachine gun with medium rate of fire, easy to control because of a small recoil, good SMG equivalent. There is also a changed Revenant Launcher functionality, it is no longer a separate weapon but is still pickable from fallen Revenants, it is now an equipment in inventory, available in the equipment wheel as a selectable. The Christmas Hats placed on some of the weaker monsters are a Christmas thing and you can turn them off in options, they might also decrease your performance while playing so it's good to play with the Open GLES renderer instead of Open GL. Map of course is from the AfterDoom by 00_Zombie_00, level called 'Icon Of Sin Is Dead" that takes place immediately after Doom II Hell On Earth, map has several hundreds of monsters plus these spawned by Icon Of Sin, 7 secrets in total to find.

Holy shit, it's so crazy how far Project Brutality has come. I remember playing the v2.03 build back in the day. The weapon sprites and animations got such a huge makeover now!

I see they still haven't replaced the Dark matter gun (Plasma gun upgrade) or the Excavator sprites.
Nice that PB has figured how to include Micro Missiles with LMG.
Tho I don't like the new increased Quad shotgun reload time...
How do you like new update? Personally I like every single change (DMR looks great, same about plasma rifle. Revenant launcher is more viable now. And MG42 is even deadlier than before!) The only thing that bothers me, is that when you unload/reload/change firemode of the LMG, you will lose the leftover ammo from the mag, if you're maxed on Bullets. Another wierd thing is that I cannot see any medkits during gameplay, but I think that's actually on my part (I used Smart Scavenger in previous builds, and I think that's why I can't see them. I'm gonna try to fix this later) Other than that, NOT A SINGLE COMPLAIN. Very well made update. PB Team really outdone themselves for our Christmas :D

Thanks, I also noticed that there is something with medkits, as you can see here, there are none of them :P. Update is great, especially I love how chaotic are these Micro Missiles.

Hello, excellent update, I have a question, how can the explosive barrel be launched? , doom guy just holds the barrel and doesn't throw it, and the throw button doesn't work

I donno. I'm not a big fan of long winded weapons animations really. I updated on the 19th too. I'll have to think about this one. I doubt my PC could even play that map. How come no link to the engine? You're using GZDoom I presume? I don't think Project Brutality runs on anything else, does it? I know I need to update my engine. I'm running GZDoom g4.7.0pre-136-g13bdd324e - 2021-08-13 which so far has been good to me.
Do not use these dev builds of GzDoom, they are mostly unstable. Also GZDOOM 4.6.1 GLES fork from github seems to be the best one so far today.

I think it's deviating too much from the original Doom style and going for the modern Doom instead. The plasma gun is a primary example of weak pew sound instead of a deadly thunder roar. I love some aspects though. Like the cool demon variations and some of the weapon sounds and animations are awesome. But some of the new weapon variations make the original shotguns obsolete for example. Its nice if all weapons have a place and use. Instead of just adding bigger badder versions of everything?
They got nerfed later for balance. Quad barrel now have slower reload time make it vulnerable against large horde. Shotgun for headshot far away small target, still OP with dragon shell tho
