      @@patrikpaller14 I know my question is stupid but look at the benefits I make others look good, so then ready hope you’re sitting down hold on tight, can’t get my head around you start from a standstill = is the gear hard to use from that point and is easier the faster you go or is it the opposite to that , it’s the way it works is the thing that’s puzzles me.

    • @patrikpaller14
      @patrikpaller14 Рік тому

      @@KavanOBrien yeah its harder to get going and as you get faster it gets easier to pedal. People however usually go 47 in the front and 17 in the back which is a nice balance, making it not too hard to start but can also reach a relatively high top speed.

    No torque wrench no thread locker on the Sugino 75 fixing bolt was painful to watch. Perfect Sugino hole is gonna get rounded out, smh.

    • @nathanielkhoom6043
      @nathanielkhoom6043 7 місяців тому +1

      Don't need them. Do them up tight and they'll be fine. Been a cycle mechanic for 17years and qualified for 9years. You get a feeling for how tight to do things like crank bolts.

    • @nathanielkhoom6043
      @nathanielkhoom6043 7 місяців тому

      I would use a torque wrench on stem bolts, but that's about it. Haven't had a crank fall off yet......
      I would run a front brake too, but that's just me.

    • @___Bebo___
      @___Bebo___ 7 місяців тому

      @@nathanielkhoom6043 The bike shop I worked at would fire you for no torque wrench on a nice square taper. That being said, it's probably fine until it isn't. Beam style torque wrench and blue threadlocker is the way this is handled now. It's not 1970 anymore with every steel and alu bike part having perfect fits, they don't care anymore and stuff does vibrate loose much more easily now.

    • @___Bebo___
      @___Bebo___ 7 місяців тому +1

      @@nathanielkhoom6043 Too tight you stretch the hole out and stress the square, too loose it rounds out the hole. I'd way rather use a torque wrench here than stem bolts. Stem bolts too tight they just seize up and you can never remove them and the handlebar is safe permanently. If you snap off the head of the bolt you can just tap out the screw with an awl.

    • @___Bebo___
      @___Bebo___ 7 місяців тому

      @@nathanielkhoom6043 I break cranks every 3 years or so from standup pedalling, no way I would want to ride cranks that are gonna fail at the square while I am mashing up a hill. Been there, done that busted my head open.
