- On April 28, 2017, I spent my 30th birthday night wide awake in a wet disaster relief tent somewhere in the Bahamas.
It was supposed to be my first music festival experience, but now we know it was “the greatest party that never happened.”
Here’s the story of how 7 friends and I spent the night at Fyre Festival.

yeah u can see him dancing at 4:30 LOL.. he never wanted to leave they had to drag him outta there 3 to 4 days later after everyone had left

That was a great video diary of your Fyre experience. I’m pleased you didn’t get duped out of a ton of money. At least you can say you purchased some life experience. And you went out there, experienced, survived and then got back within an impressively short time frame. AND then picked up your life in very short order and enjoyed your birthday in Miami. I wish I could be like your boyfriend and live in the moment and find enjoyment in that moment no matter what. But instead, I would also be crushed by anxiety and find him, at that point. somewhat irritating! Thanks again. Very interesting.

First of all, I'm sorry you experienced this on your 30th birthday (but way to rally and make the most of the weekend!) Secondly, as an avid festival goer I am LIVING FOR THIS FIRST HAND ACCOUNT!! I was obsessed with this story when it first came out and devoured every bit of info on it that I could so I probably saw your interview at the time. Thank you for sharing this with us, what a memorable 30th!!

As an Aircraft Inspector I can promise you the plane you flew on was safe and the window bezel coming off is no reflection on the Fyre organizers - to your relief. Interiors on airplanes can be dismantled almost without any tools, but most people don't know how to do it and those who do know better than to show off while flying. But it does allow for some things to occasionally fall off, but they are strictly cosmetic and no cause for alarm. Diversions, Rejected takeoffs, and mechanical delays are reflective of the work quality you are flying in. It's a good thing you didn't post a video of the window frame falling off because aviation pros would have blasted you. What you have posted now is very interesting.

Your dancing bf reminds me of full moon party me and my group of friends attended in koh phangan thailand in 2013. Except it wasnt a disaster nor a scam. Your dancing bf sure had the spirit we had, to dance and party and make the best out of where ever we were🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for talking about your experience and showing the raw footage. Would like to see more of that raw footage, that's what is most intriguing. Question - how could you have known about the Fyre Festival in 2016? I though they didn't really start promoting and selling tickets until January 2017. In any case, sorry you had to go through this awful experience, though your boyfriend looks like he could have fun in any situation, no matter how crummy.
I wish I took more raw footage too! But my phone was low on battery and I didn't see charging stations.. so I was in survival mode :P
We got an early bird deal at the end of 2016 from a friend - right before the influencer video dropped.
And yes, my boyfriend still had a good time! 😀

What I don't understand is how a music festival was going to last for two weekends. Most big festivals only last for a few days but not usually back to back weekends (with a week inbetween) The information provided just didn't match up to the expectations that were sold on the advertisement. The commercial had no information on it just flashy images. It seemed though most people didn't go for the music but more for Instagram shots and this whole new social need to have to be seen at the hottest festival and event. As far as a normal trip to the Bahamas that seems super expensive even at just 500 dollars (plus 1200 for the wristband.) then to sleep in a tent. I just hope you got your money back in the end. Just goes to show you how powerful and influential social media can be in the modern day. Lots of people got scammed and swindled especially those hard workers living on the island.
This might be a stupid question.....but why would you bring work to do when you’re on a 3 day getaway ??
Yeah it wasn't great timing - I was running a program online the same weekend this happened. So had to make do by working in Miami before and after the trip
Wake up call for many people. Don't always trust what you see & never spend on something that looks too good to be true!!

Second observation: nothing personal towards you but your boyfriend comes across looking like a jerk during this experience if he really cared about you he would have been the first to say no this is not a good idea we need to get out of here ., hopefully he straightened up, and if not you need to remain single until you find someone with their head screwed completely on straight.

How can you expect 500 dollars to cover a holiday in the Bahamas including return flights, luxury villa accommodation, gourmet catering and music festival tickets? Like it just doesn't add up. I would be strongly questioning that before even considering handing any money to them.
To be fair though, it sounds like you handled the situation quite well in the end.

Not exactly. A lot of the people who went to this were normal people who were attracted by the low prices ($500 for a three-day all-inclusive festival is INCREDIBLY cheap). I think there were very few actual “rich kids” there, and the ones there were were able to use connections to get themselves out instead of ending up stranded like everyone else.

I’ve seen so many people mad at the attendees?? Why does it have to be rich people this rich people that- At the end of the day people paid lots money for a complete crazy disaster. Imagine being happy about something so tragic just because of ones financial status... if this happened to your favorite celebrity would you be equally as happy? Who knows how many good innocent attendants were also involved in this? Of course I feel terrible for the unpaid workers but y’all are pathetically sad.
