One thing I got down was asking dua. It's not preferred to ask others to make dua to Allah SWT for you. Only unless your intentions are to let them do good by asking Allah to bless another (you) which gives them reward. Why ask others when you can DIRECTLY ask Allah SWT yourself? From the smallest to the biggest of things to do with Deen or dunya always try asking Allah SWT for it as it's a great act of worship.
