I was full time pro-patrol for 6 seasons, Director for 3, 30 years ago. 500 acres of alpine and 72km of XC trails. My team of 5 pro's and dozen volunteers were awesome. The little ski hill and world class XC trail system in northern Wisconsin lay idle for many years now. The bone spurs have faded but my memories are vivid. Cheers to all my brothers and sisters on the mountain and trails doing the work behind the scenes to keep us safe and for being there when the need arises.
This was a great video. I'm a Ski Patroller at a smaller resort in southern Utah. It's fun to see how other resorts work. Thank you for putting this together.
Great to see you Ed! Only familiar face in that video. What a wonderful trip down memory lane, so happy you're still livin' the dream. EMR Ski Patrol 1997 - 2000.
Thank you for letting skiers knowing the crucial and respectful job of ski patrol. Without ski patrol, most skiers unable to enjoy the sport safely within the on-pisted area. 1. Excellent skill skier 2. Weather Forecaster 3. Avalanche Controller 4. Explosive Supervisor 5. First-aider / medical providers The job is challenging👍
Its called ski patrol not snowboard patrol lol... Thought they didn't allow snowboarders? I could see how you would have more stopping power to a control a toboggan with a snowboard tho...

I learned to ski at Eldora. Awesome way to grow up....Great place.
This is the best I've seen out of a dozen or so ski patrol videos. Just Be Safe ESP keeping us safe. Any Doubt Bomb It

So challenging that 25 of them are volunteers.
I patrolled Eldora with the NSP back in the '80s when I lived inBoulder. A real sleeper of an area. Good job on showing what patrollers do.
You had me right before "backbone" of the mountain. Long live Snowmakers!!
If you live in the Boulder or Denver regions, there are many days when Eldora is the best mountain to choose from.
1000% Miss going to Eldora during peak tourist season when I was at CSU back in the early 2000s. Always a good getaway from the throngs of breck, etc.
I want to do this so bad

Never meet a good one.

And the mountains are called ski resorts, yet there are snowboards. Majority wins, stop being a snowflake, board patrollers are just fine
