The industrial crafter is totally optional, of course, since you can always just trade components for other components, or blueprints, without any initial need for tech trash, or setting up pass/fail timing. You can also trade any commodity as a medium of exchange, provided the sum of your trades yields a net return. You'll want to limit the maximum amount of any commodity, scrap perhaps, to the maximum value of a trade. You can then invest in going up the value chain with conversions, like metal ore for fragments, or oil for low grade. What you're really gathering is the surplus of other players' labor, which is capitalism.
Might have to give this a shot once my PvE/PvP server wipes on the 15th. Always down to try new things. Been screwing around with Electrical stuff since but never messed around with the industrial crafters and pipes and all that other fun stuff.
