Its times like this, i'm glad i've got a little grey fergie. I've never had an electrical problem with it as there are bugger all electrics on it. Battery, starter motor, dynimo and a heater plug. Thats your lot.
I’ve had the very occasional electronic problem on my 2000 series Fastracs. Fortunately the external hydraulics on them all have manual spool levers. But when the odd electronic problems do occur, turn everything off and walk away for 5 minutes. Then come back and it has always cured itself. Often, most of the problems have been caused by my forgetting to switch the sprayer control box off and draining the battery so much that I need to jump start it. In which case stop the engine after you think it has charged enough to restart again and everything will be fine again with no faults. If you are on JCB live-link, they often know exactly what the problem is before you will!
George, I seem to remember some geezer fitting a new stereo recently , should’ve got a real fitter like mucker to do it……… only joking mate, you really need to sleeve that bare cable though, that be the route of all the electrical gremlins , grounding out or something. Good vid, cheers.
My old 300 disco used to do stuff like that all the time. Self healing after giving the alarm box and fuse board an occasional kick, thump or squeeze. Didn't stop the chassis dissolving though. Be well and stay safe.
Well done that would probably be a £700 job at least for a dealer 😉😁😂. Think there's master plugs going up under into the cab somewhere which get full of crud and rot out. Silicon grease to the rescue. 👍 Stay safe 🏴 cracking vid.
The joys of fastracs George we had 3230 with electronic spools , and we found the higher you had flow rate the spool would kick out sooner or spit the spool line out
I'm glad things are working ok again. When things like spool switches start acting up I'd first use contact cleaner in the switch itself then look for bad conditions in the multi plugs.
Good old jcb electrics, my jcb 310s needed a new engine loom last month. It had a fuel leak on top of the engine, we removed a cover off the top of the injectors and three of the four injectors had bare wires on them🤦♂️ and now we've had the entire cab apart looking for a broken wire as it wouldn't drive anywhere. In the end it wasn't a broken wire but a fault in the Ecu. Luckily David King electronics repaired the ecu and it should be going again today. 🤞👍
On the spool valves I would look first at the hydraulic oil and filters. The close tolerences on the valves nowadays can make them stick something that does not happen if your pulling a handle
Intermittent issues are nearly worse than major issues because you never know when they will let you down. At least with a major issue you know it is broken and wont work until it is fixed.
Isn't it such a great feeling?! Mine wouldn't start, select high or low range, wouldn't power shift, local dealer said I needed a new loom £4500! I had a look and the wire had come loose on the clutch sensor!
All you need in the toolbox is a camera, turn it on and problem solved :) . Same Jonathan Tunmore from classic tractor mag? Sad to hear about that fendt, or anyone's machine burning.
You'll just have to keep the camera in the tractor ALL OF THE TIME from now on, and maybe, it'll carry on working.!😆! LOVE THE VIDS.🥰🥰... KEEP'EM COMING.🤞🥰... RICH(UK).🥰🥰🥰.!.!.!.

If when you disturbed the side dash panel the spool valve started playing up, and then seemed to sort it self when you put it back, I'd be inclined to try and check connectors anywhere you can find them and clean up with contact cleaner. Dodgy connections and resistance in connectors will wreak havoc with electronic controlled systems. Likewise on the main dash any connectors behind it or that hook up to it. On that bare wire unless there's any evidence of the cabling sheeth having burnt away, in which case you'd see remains off it and some indication on adjacent wires, if its stripped along the full length may well be an earth connection. Can you see if it goes off to an adjacent panel to ground? Certainly the suggestion from another subscriber to get a master switch in the main battery circuit so at least if something does happen you may be in with a chance of stopping anything before it gets a hold. If you haven't got one get a reasonable size fire extinguisher and mount it in the cab. Dry powder is good but leaves a mess, AFFF will do for auto and also cover a fuel fire and will be OK for low voltage electrics such as on the Fastrac particularly if you can kill power with a master switch. Remember seeing a few burnt out combines back in the day, not a pretty site :( Seeing the farmers anguish of having to try and find a replacement, or a contractor to finish the harvest for them, the additional costs involved and on many occassions probably losing a good chunk of the remaining standing crop in the field where it happened. Stay safe.
Bloody electrics always something simple to give a big headache. Anyways might be an idea to put a kill switch inline with the battery, On that & the t dub.But that's easy for us to say here watching on. Anyway good luck hope you get er sorted.
First thing to try is to put it all back as it should be and give the dash a good bash with the palm of your hand. This ha fixed this before. Then if the this don’t work there is a big plug that connects the engine bay to the cab this could do with a spray of contact cleaner and putting back together.
British Engineering At its Best,Having Worked on JCBs It does Not Surprise Me What i am Watching 😂 They have Some Good Ideas Just Not Made Very Well or Cheap to Look after Saying that I Still Like them🙂
Looks like that wire was causing a short circuit in the loom causing the Christmas 🎄 effect I would insulate that wire then insulate the full loom behind the dash just incase it decides to set on 🔥. Don't want the same issues as Tom Pemberton and One lonely farmer
George if I was you I’d get some insulation tape on that cable . If you think the fastrak is a home to gremlins buy a L322 rangerover . Good luck mucker
It might be the switch spray some normal WD-40 in it. does it not have an OBD port for tester should have I'll take it off your hands if you don't want it lol
Good luck or Congratulations for your repair, George?!? As an British brand - have JCB Fastrack original Joseph Lucas Electric Ltd- system with positive ground? Then I really can understand! ;D "And the Lord said 'let there be light'...Joseph Lucas replied 'no way, Lord, no way'." Lucas denies later having invented darkness. But he still claim "sudden, unexpected darkness" and then invented the first intermittent windshield wiper and self-dimming headlight as spin-off's! Haha! Do not forget to set your multimeter on AC when measuring Fastrak voltage, George because they have that, but just with a random frequency. And if you measure your wires then know that these doesn't apply to Ohm's Law because Joseph Lucas made so much resistance against that regulating law!
Don't let the smoke out of the harness 🤣 9 out of 10 electrical issues on 10, 20, 30+ year old electronics caused by oxidation between the pin connectors, and poor grounding points. Paint, rust, poor loose grounding to body, frame, engine. Systematically unplug every connector & switch and treat with product like Wurth Contact cleaner/oil.. think about all the wet seasons that these modern tractors set out in, damp barns, dust, ... I bet there is a rebuild or exchange service somewhere for that instrument cluster.... 🤞🤞George. 👍🇺🇸🐕🦺🍺🍺🍺
Great vid buddy you should have a fire extinguisher in the cab for safety love your fasttrack buddy 👍🏼👍🏼😎😎
Its times like this, i'm glad i've got a little grey fergie. I've never had an electrical problem with it as there are bugger all electrics on it. Battery, starter motor, dynimo and a heater plug. Thats your lot.
And spool valves operated by cables on my modern classic
I think you putting the subsoiler on it has made it play up !
U have the golden touch George 👍
You've been absolutely on it with the vids this past week or two! Very much appreciated.

Great George Saunders Video, thanks for sharing
Great video once again keep them coming george

Well done George, finding the loose wire a bit heat shrink will do the trick. Keep the good work up 👍🚜
Thanks for the vid George.. Take care sir..
Brave man that tackles wiring problems in the electronic era tractors 👍 maybe better bein a lucky auto electrician than a good one 🤔😂👍
Great content again hopefully get the problems sorted
Great video as always George good 👍 you got it working 🏴🏴👍👍🚜🇬🇧👌👩🌾
thought it was a christmas special at first with all the flashing lights good it was a easy fix

Another great video George thanks for sharing maybe the fastrac doesn't want the massey front linkage fitting lol keep the videos coming
Classical ...modern gizmos only failing through a fault in wiring seen this happen so many times...
great video George that little problem with the fastrac would have taken me ages to sort out LOL
On the spool valves I would look first at the hydraulic oil and filters. The close tolerences on the valves nowadays can make them stick something that does not happen if your pulling a handle
Oh the joys of electrics on tractors!
George fit an isolator for peace of mind
Looks like you’re gonna have to check all the connections. George I’d park it outside from now on.
Disco time at George's , good stuff:):)
Our 2150 got same problem and the reason was wiring connector from chassis to cabin. Some oxidizon
Hi George, I'd put some insulation tape on that wire before it causes a bigger major problems. The joys of owning a fast track
Love an easy fix.
Intermittent issues are nearly worse than major issues because you never know when they will let you down. At least with a major issue you know it is broken and wont work until it is fixed.

blimey that was lucky
We also had a problem with our brown remote. Have to change that electric remote
The joys of modern 🚜 🤣😂
loose wires in the the side panel up above spool valves switch check all connections
George the fastrac doctor
Hi George hope you are well, I have got to say when you had taken the first screw out I was knackered lol, 🌈🌈🚜🚜
Magic hands Saunders that’s going return I think
fire is not fun. sometimes you just have to wiggle the right wires and she is fixed. no rhyme or reason to it...
Electronics for you mate
Sorted, Bob's your uncle, Fanny's your aunt 💪💪💪

Lol Jcb that fixs it self. 😂😂
I never had this problem on our MF 165

Electrics always puts you in a world of pain.... Dunno if you can reboot your computer after the short you found but good luck George....
George i had the same spool problems ..
Speak to Robert Russell at Russell's fastrax he con verted mine 👌👌
Buy a can DeOxit switchcleaner and spray it well into the spool buttons its just an oxide build up on the contacts
Hi George it’s probably a good idea to install a cut off switch on the outside of your Fast track of they are prone to catching on fire
no they arent

Haha , you must have the touch or just a Jammy so and so . At least you have the yoda of fastracs - Russell fastracs on end of a computer 👍🏻🚜🏴
Hollie shit its a fastrac Christmas tree... ops not good old boy 😂😂
That bear wire could you put some heat shrink round it to stop possible fire cause
are the cab mounts ok
Wes actually lost his 7410
Halloween come early for you George 👀...
Probably a good day to buy a lottery ticket with luck like this.
That dash needs pulling and sorting those wires out. It might and looks to be the cause of all these issues in this vid 🤣🤣
British Engineering At its Best,Having Worked on JCBs It does Not Surprise Me What i am Watching 😂
They have Some Good Ideas Just Not Made Very Well or Cheap to Look after
Saying that I Still Like them🙂
JCB and Liebherr... two manufacturers that you can GUARANTEE electrical issues with.
Ha ha magic hands Saunders
Looks like that wire was causing a short circuit in the loom causing the Christmas 🎄 effect I would insulate that wire then insulate the full loom behind the dash just incase it decides to set on 🔥. Don't want the same issues as Tom Pemberton and One lonely farmer
I was full sure at the start that it would be on the lorry to Russels
Jcb are so good they fix themselves
Thats why you should always give electrics a good bang before you take them apart
George if I was you I’d get some insulation tape on that cable . If you think the fastrak is a home to gremlins buy a L322 rangerover . Good luck mucker
It was a 7410 that burned of one lonely farmer
Just askeing a quick question do you own all of that farm I feel sorry for you mate tractor problems art pain in the ass at time
Those problems would never comes in an old TW
Electronic crap can be a nightmare lol
If all else fails just remove the Dash lol . Top job
gremlins in your wires
Nothing like some bad chafeage for playing havoc with electrics.
You need new dash monitor ours did that and had to replace it
It might be the switch spray some normal WD-40 in it. does it not have an OBD port for tester should have
I'll take it off your hands if you don't want it lol
Good luck or Congratulations for your repair, George?!? As an British brand - have JCB Fastrack original Joseph Lucas Electric Ltd- system with positive ground? can't you get jcb out look at it ?
Now you can see why the previous owner get rid of it
Bit of old Land Rover there not working then does 😂
…. When electronics work… Great 👍🏼
When they don’t ??? 🤔
Spaz 🤣
Sell it and buy a tw35 instead
