I've watched some alpha footage, and it just looks like EVE 2.0. Which I am excited about since EVE's system is old and slow, and I would prefer a world without multiboxing. But because it is so similar, I am worried about player counts. I am dubious that hardcore EVE Online players would abandon their accounts worth thousands-millions of dollars, to play a similar game. On the other hand, for newer players wanting to start a space RPG, a new game released in 202X would be more appealing that a 22 year old game. I suspect both EVE Online and Fontier's player count would suffer because of this.
One cool aspect of a survival game taking place in a hostile world, is that the severity of the threat can ultimately undermine the entire point of griefing

@@kpolan I think that while it is an Eve game, Frontier will be very different than Eve online. We will see how it develops
Not played SC have you?
I have not. Been following its development though.
SC??
Eve fest upcoming
@@Lunicus_Descent fast approaching!
If its another grief fest PVP game. No thanks. I am sure Eve players will love it.
Who knows what it will develop into. At its core I expect it to still be an EVE game but only time will tell.
