I dont think this was ever a problem
It's fine to use these machines for a quick unofficial count, but ALL votes should still be counted manually to verify the machines haven't been hacked.
They are verified after. At least in my area
@@brads2041 In my area the machines software is "verified" before and after. That is not reassuring. It's actually a red flag that they would do that instead of actually count the ballots.

I thought they stuck my ballot into a counting machine for the last several elections already?
Forget proportional representation, we need mandatory voting like Australia has: 90% turnout!
Mandatory voting just ensures that you have a large number of uneducated voters casting votes.
Whatever politician proposes or legislates that in Canada will be voted out by the mandated voters.😂😂

I used to be in favour of mandatory voting but I'm no longer so sure. As for PP, I'd be satisfied with FPTP ranked voting. At least that would eliminate strategic voting and vote splitting. Give independent candidates a better chance.
Why no downvotes this isn't a good thing. This is how you rig an election. Without paper ballets it's so easy to rig.
