Hi Emma. I'm not a subscriber and definitely not your target audience. But somehow I came across your "depression" video on your other channel. It made me feel very uncomfortable watching it. This conversation definitely shouldn't have been recorded and put on the internet. Your mom should've talked with you about it in private and be there for you when you need her the most. It breaks my heart how you tried telling her that you have social anxiety and she completely dismissed it. I'm in my early 20s pursuing a difficult and high-stress degree, last year I tried telling my parents that I wanted to try SSRI's (meds) to cope with the stress. They responded similarly to your mom. It felt like an utter betrayal after I had finally tried to open up. So I can definitely relate to your situation. But you will get through this. Life's lows make us appreciate the highs more. Like I said, I've only watched one or two of your videos, so it's definitely not my place to give you advice. Just know that it'll get better. I think you're very mature for your age, which might be why it is harder to connect with other girls your age. I sense a lot of tension between you and your mom. Just try to remain respectful, it's not worth it. I think it's wrong that she's pushing you so hard to be extraverted, let alone get a boyfriend. That's just ridiculous. Try to figure out what you want. There's nothing wrong with being introverted or more reserved. I suppose I am too. Realize there's a difference between being introverted and being shy or insecure though.
