Hi folks, Thanks for the nice review, as usual in your channel. Which one is a better boot, the Zephyr or the Z8? I'm looking at buying a pair of either model for back-country hiking under a wide variety of terrains and climate conditions, from dry lands to humid boggy areas and under rainy and cold seasons. Could you advise which is a better option for an all-rouded, versatile boot? Thanks in advance
The zephyrs have a much more flexible sole, almost like trainers. The z6/z8s have stiffer soles. I have the Z8S and I warn you against it because of the ultra slippy soles. These use experiential soles instead of the tested vibram soles, and these do not work. Buy the renegade or try merrells instead. Vibram boots at a budget price
@@kaungsithusett9017 btw, when did you buy your pair of Z8s? Maybe they have now changed to Vibram soles...?? Do the Renegade model provide all-round better stability, traction and anti-slippage protection? Im surprised by what you tell me about the Z8 as they advertise this model foe hunting in very demanding terrains...
The zephyr is actually the brother of this boots. The zephyr is the one that came first and did a great job. Theres not that much difference between them.
I have a pair of these great boots in coyote op, the only problem I have is that they get dirty very quickly especially if anything oily falls onto them.
@Israel Coen this is amazing technology, too bad it is illegal... seriously. Why not just get a better girlfriend who doesn't use social media? Why would you ever date a woman that uses social media?
Hi Lowa, I have one Z8 GTX brown. Great boot, quiet walk, waterproof, tough boot and light weight. But very disappointed how the boot slips on wet hard or wet rocks. Almost dangerous when i am loaded and have to walk on theses surfaces. they should improve that tremendously cuz Lowa knows how to do it with vibram. Any other terrain great grip.
@@rogue_spirit they are suited for urban walking, but when you have to step on rocks that are smood and wet, it can get slippery.... its the same with the lowa renegades....

And yeah that's what I was referring to from Tam's comment, wet sleek surfaces, same problem I and many others have with the Zephyr's, even the "newest" GTX HI version I own! LOWA should rethink their sole manufacture or just go Vibram for everybody's good! Thanks for the input though.
