Wow this is just pathetic "we haven't done anything wrong it's all Labour's fault" sure the party that hasn't been in power for over a decade at this point is the cause of all your current problems 😒
Exactly I thought that. But we can all see through it.
Like the buffoon said a Labour administration has never reduced unemployment and as Maggie said Socialists run out of other peoples money eventually.
And even if it was labours fault, the purpose of government is to fix the problems not associate blame.
They’ve been doing this for years, using the same tactics to stay in power. Seems like more people are catching on now but I find it crazy that people actually believed them all this time, and continued to let themselves get fucked whilst blaming everything on labour. Took this long for the majority to realize they’ve been getting financially fucked over the last two decades.
He wasn’t saying that the current problems are Labours fault he said the solution isn’t more borrowing as it would cause problems in the long term, if this pinch and it’s a massive pinch last 6-12 months it would workout more beneficial but bare in mind they gave thousands upon thousands to households even when they wasn’t entitled during the pandemic and yet everyone was on board then. I personally know people who earn 2-3 grand a month if they’re lucky self employed and racked in through complete lies and nonsense sums of money in the region of 17-17.5k. Did everyone think this would go by after the pandemic without increases in prices across board, of course not. What’s peed me off is I got 550 quid because I was PAYE for one month of the year so wasn’t entitled to these extortionate bullshit sums of money everyone else got

Calamity Brown turned Tory SURPLUSES in 1997 into a whacking, crippling £153 billion deficit in 2010.....built the economy on a tsunami of debt....remember PFI?
And welfare dependency costing trillions. And 15 million added to the UK population.
Not until the books balance and deficit returned to surplus can we pay down the debt.

I think that's what they want, too many ppl left over from the pandemic
Unemployment is never going to be high even in severe recession we have an acute shortage of workers and I mean really acute.

@@oscar6487 Exactly, then egg each other on and nothing actually gets done to sort the state of the country out .
The Tories probably have shares in the Gas and Oil fields, so they want a larger payout. Hence the lack of wanting to subsidise the ordinary citizens of these islands with help from the these Corporations.
Probably they haven't.
Rich land owners are getting all the subsidies (everyones 25% green energy Tax). David Cameron’s father in law receives more than £1,000 per day for wind turbines on his land. Now it’s obvious why politicians didn’t want nuclear energy. No way to cream off the money.
The Tories have no doubt already spent the contents of the little brown envelopes they received from the oil companies as an incentive to not bring in a windfall tax, the little brown envelopes being sent via the Cayman islands of course. The best government money can buy.
Follow the money. See what shares politicians own or companies they work for. They have insider knowledge. Just the same in the US but it’s easier to track. Nancy Pelosi, for example, is the 5th most successful stock trader in the world according to her portfolio performance. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out why.

Well done keir
Let’s not borrow money to help people now with the struggles in that very moment in the name of not creating a potential struggle in mortgages? Is that what he said? Did I understand it correctly? What a brilliant logic, Tory logic strikes again
The mortgage rate has been kept artificially low anyway, the whole time the Tories have been in power, because most of them, their party donors and rich buddies have huge property portfolios that make them tons of money in terms of assets. THEY would be just as negatively affected by mortagage rates returning to something more realistic, which is why they've been sitting on The Bank of England so hard to stop them raising the interest rates. If the Bank of England were able to set interest rates closer to what they SHOULD be for our current economic status, the housing market would crash (it needed to have done that ten years ago, were it not for the Tories holding it off,) which would dramatically lower house prices. Disaster for property moguls like most of the rich elite, and anyone unfortunate enough to be sucked into a mortgage right at the very edge of their affordability (you can thank the Tories' 'Help To Buy' scheme for that) but in the long term first-time buyers will have a chance at owning a house and getting a mortgage again, and the housing market will slowly recover over time.
