The 2 women who assassinated Kim Jong-nam believed they were participating in a prank tv show and were completely unaware of the true intentions. That's why they were let off with much lighter sentences
In fact, they were also exposed to VX, and the only reason they lived is that they were given incredibly specific and clear instructions to wash their hands directly after the prank.
@@tinkrtailrplus, they would each only have one part of it on their hands. So, separate the chemicals were okay, but when mixed together, that's what made it deadly
Why in gods name is the most important detail about the VX story omitted? Those girls were completely innocent. They werent told anything about the chemicals and were told it was for a prank show. They were MANIPULATED into it, the fact people can paint them as anything else is just injustice
Doesn’t seem to be the most important detail about the VX story. The most important detail is… the existence of such a weapon, and the political back and forth in the Kim family
Also the murder of Nam.. those women were tricked into killing him.. they actually had no idea that were killing him. They thought they were hired by a prank show.. there’s videos about it on UA-cam.. it’s interesting as
Putrefaction and scavenging creatures will dismember the corpse in a week or two and the bones will sink to the seabed. There they may be slowly buried by marine silt or broken down further over months or years, depending on the acidity of the water.
9:00 you missed the part where both women were 100% unaware they were murdering a political figure, they both thought they were spraying perfume on a stranger as a prank for a video.
If I remember right, the girls who were involved in the assassination of Kim Jong-Nam had the vx on their hands and wiped it on his face. It can be separated into compounds which become vx upon contact with each other. The women had been unwittingly trained for some time by handlers who scouted them and took them to various public locations and instructed them to do similar "pranks" while the handlers acted as cameramen and producers. They had never met and had no idea who they had approached or what happened to him until their arrests. They were just pawns.
Yeah, to add to that they were also poisoned from the split second they came into contact with both compounds. Luckily neither of them died but still, they came very, very close to it.
I recognize the girl from the thumbnail, seriously one of the most gruesome things I ever witnessed, not just because of the context but what the environment did to her
I asked my parents about that image when I was younger, they didn't say anything at the time but I remembered the image and looked it up, yup no wonder they were quiet
"Hot tempered, sensitive, and gifted in the arts" What is it with dictators having these traits? They should check for a link between megalomania, anger, thin skin, and "art is my passion".
i mean, art is just... universally popular in some capacity. i dont think there's a human alive that doesnt or couldnt appreciate any form of art. i guess some people are more into it than others, but still.
It's harrowing to think of a timeline where VX is used in military conflict. Not only would those in its path suffer its destructive force with no resistance, but the agent could easily spread and fly out of control, creating entire exclusion zones that might not even go away for decades. Less than 1mg is VERY small
In brighter news, just made a great beef rice bowl, and thought I’d share my little homemade recipe -Make 1 cup rice -warm sesame oil in pan, add rice, fry for 1-2 minutes -add a splash of ponzu sauce, soy sauce, salt, sesame seeds, chili powder, and chili flakes -cool for a few minutes, stirring with a spatula to prevent burning -remove rice from pan -add thinly sliced beef to pan, cook until browned -add ponzu, soy sauce, sesame seeds, and chili powder. Cook until beef is fully cooked -add beef to rice and enjoy!
Thanks a bunch! Best recipees come without real measurements because you can adjust right at the start (you cant blame it that its bad, since youre the one that put too much too less from something it).

@@ash_tray I've heard from many, time delayed, but thoroughly researched sources, that both women slathered the VX compound on his face, both women were fine as their hands had some oil before the compound was thrown on top and then slapped onto his face
I remember the first time I saw the pictures and video of the girl in the thumbnail, Omayra Sanchez, and I never forgot her, or her name. Absolutely haunting.
There's something so strange about that famous picture shown in this video, where Omayra is gently holding the wooden stick. She looks defeated in an oddly calm manner, and makes you think she might have given up at that point, after struggling and suffering for days. It's awful and terrifying, but morbidly interesting at the same time. May that gentle little girl rest in peace.
What happened to Omayra sent me down a path to atheism. Once I stopped being afraid to "question god" & seriously ask the tough questions, I could no longer believe. I also resigned to the fact that if it were someone out there, he certainly wasn't all loving or worthy of praise.
The little girl, Martinez(?) Ive always found that picture beautiful and haunting. Dont get me wrong about the beautiful part, i dont mean her situation or her pain and suffering was beautiful, i mean her composure, the dignity in the face of death. I cant think of a single person ive ever known that could hold the calm that that little girl did.
i'm pretty sure part of it was a combination of shock and not knowing really how bad she was actually trapped. Plus time kept going and very little was made to help her, and it started to down on her gradually
Sánchez, Omayra. It's horrific everything about her death, and i agree about the picture. Her eyes went black, she stopped calling for her mom. Us colombians we'll never forget this, RIP little one:(
12:05 to give more context to why they got a lesser charge is because they thought it was a harmless prank they werent told what the spray and liquid was they were hired by a fake prank television show and they had been doing pranks to people for months (i think) before this one and right after the prank happened the people that hired them had disappeared another thing that made them decrease the charge was after the prank they went about they day with residue of the chemical on them which caused them to get sick if you want to know more MrBallen has a video on this
The women who killed Kim Jong Nam were actually tricked into doing it. The women were of asian decent and grew up poor, they were approached by this man (who was probably an intelligence officer) who said he was a show host willing to film prank videos with them, usually they sprayed perfume or the such on the unsuspecting victim and run away. These were to condition them to spray VX on Nam. And when they eventually did carry out the task, they had no idea that they did it, that is why theyre charges were dropped.
Hey m8o, cool vid. I like that you tried to end on a happier note, talking about the decline of the slave trade and slavery in general, yet, the amount of people considered to currently live in slavery conditions (neo-slavery) has never been so high. Again, nice intention, I'd still be careful when addressing the evolution of slavery and its current state
Yuri, the diver in the blue hole sank so fast due to a failed buoyancy compensatory, and with the mix of nitrogen narcosis, Yuri didn't detach his weight belt.
Yeah the thing about the 2 woman that killed Kim at the airpor - that's a whole different can of worms on its own, like, a total rabbit hole... I once watched a video about exactly that, and it was very very bizarre. The reduced sentence actually makes sense if you know the extremely odd circumstances...
Imagine the ramifications of Kim Jong Nam’s capture in China. If he wasn’t caught in China with a fake passport, he could possibly never have been caught, continued on to become the next leader of North Korea, and possibly reformed the country in a positive way. Of course that didn’t happen since Kim Jong Un took power, and became so disgusted at how Nam embarrassed their father he decided to stop being a nice guy at all and crack down hard on the North Korean people. There was a time Kim Jong Un was a nicer person but that event of his father being so embarrassed disgusted Un so much he abandoned any charitable and fun personality he had in exchange for stoicism and gaining a heavier iron fist. Even if Un took power in an alternate timeline where Nam wasn’t caught, North Korea’s human rights might be in a better place than it is today.
5:30 its actually pretty easy to make sarin gas. all you need is some chlorinated brake cleaner and a way to super heat it. (dont actually. you will probably die.) most people dont dont make it on purpose though, a lot of deaths from it happen because of welders using chlorinated brake cleaner to prepare a surface for welding or people putting it on their brakes too soon after driving. nasty stuff.
This is incorrect, the heating of the main chemical present in chlorinated brake cleaner, which is what gives it the “chlorinated” marketing title is tetrachloroethylene and when heated it produces phosgene and hydrogen chloride. Phosgene is extremely toxic yes, so you should definitely be careful but it’s not sarin gas. Very different.
Hey, if you’re reading this, take a break from the rabbit hole. Go get some fresh air and remember that the world isn’t so grim, tell your friends and family that you love them. You can make our reality better

Hi Ailurus! I literally just found your channel today and your content is stellar, I absolutely love the way you narrate. I was wondering if you've ever covered the Nikki catsouras case (or "Porsche girl" to the Internet) if not you definitely should. Thanks for all your hard work 💘
Imagine the changes that could have happened in North Korea if things would have went differently, and the first brother became leader instead of little man. So crazy how one small thing can change the history and the future of millions of people.
Free Diving and Scuba are totally different situations mate. Uri suffered oxygen toxicity from diving too deep on air. The two girls didn't realise they were poisoning Un.
I remember seeing that girl in a book when I was younger, always thought her eyes looked cool but now that I know what happened to her its really sad how she went
9:30 they were dropped because they were tricked into believing it was a prank show, they did it multiple times with just a wet towel saying that was the prank, when they told them to go to kim jung nam they were concerned but were promised good pay, they fled the scene as soon as they saw him fall
17:48 I remember seeing a movie where the heretic dies by execution from the garot I remember he was wearing a dunce hat except the hat had pictures of demons and two priest were telling him to repent his sins and one of them even gave him a cross which he didn't hold after that they executed him Despite seeing the movie at such a young age I wasn't traumatized but I was curious about the movie I might hunt for it
The Armero disaster chapter was excellent, everything was well researched. Omaria's videos and everything related to that tragedy is very hard to watch. 1985 was a terrible year for Colombia, the supreme court building siege by the M-19 guerrilla was horrible too, same year.

There’s more human trafficking and slavery in the world today than when that photo was taken. That’s the sad thing.
Morbid reality on April fools day should have just been all wholesome happy stories
great video as always. Loved the last bit, it made me feel hopeful after so many awful things
That’s not how you say ‘garrotte’ lol. Imagine a very French French person saying ‘carrot’. That’s how you say it 😂
Hi Ailurus! I literally just found your channel today and your content is stellar, I absolutely love the way you narrate. I was wondering if you've ever covered the Nikki catsouras case (or "Porsche girl" to the Internet) if not you definitely should. Thanks for all your hard work 💘
That was great! Thanks a bunch bud.
Imagine the changes that could have happened in North Korea if things would have went differently, and the first brother became leader instead of little man. So crazy how one small thing can change the history and the future of millions of people.
I clicked the momment that morbid reality notification popped up
If the thumbnail is who I think it is, I'm glad Ailurus used a kinder photo
Free Diving and Scuba are totally different situations mate.
Uri suffered oxygen toxicity from diving too deep on air.
The two girls didn't realise they were poisoning Un.
Yeah, I worked at a site where they were going to destroy vx for a while. The safety briefing was worrisome.
Damn, Alirus, please don’t stop with Morbid Reality. I love your content and these videos are in the league of their own
its 7am and i am watching ailurus before work, i need a hobby but this is still good.
Imagine dead dropping to the sea floor - knowing you’re stuck. Such a horrible way to die.
I remember seeing that girl in a book when I was younger, always thought her eyes looked cool but now that I know what happened to her its really sad how she went
love these videos man, keep up the amazing work
Awesome work, thank you. And great bits of information and history.
Fun fact, the last two execusions using the garrote in spain were the 2rd of march 1974
Damn lmao my boy be talking like he all hyped about someone drowning 😂 🤣
3:03 From what I’ve heard he diddnt make it all the way down, he landed on an underwater shelf, basically a cliff.
9:30 they were dropped because they were tricked into believing it was a prank show, they did it multiple times with just a wet towel saying that was the prank, when they told them to go to kim jung nam they were concerned but were promised good pay, they fled the scene as soon as they saw him fall
i just love this channel, its amazing watch every single video
17:48 I remember seeing a movie where the heretic dies by execution from the garot
I remember he was wearing a dunce hat except the hat had pictures of demons and two priest were telling him to repent his sins and one of them even gave him a cross which he didn't hold after that they executed him
Despite seeing the movie at such a young age I wasn't traumatized but I was curious about the movie
I might hunt for it
Heck yeah, Morbid Reality After I finished an Finals Exam Let's goooooooooooo
Those torture devices are hideous and just gross 🤮
Looking up that VX stuff.. Fun fact! the US dumped 112 tons of it into the Atlantic from 1969 to 1970.
New Morbid Reality, let’s goooo
First dude earned his Darwin Award.
9:35 yeah one of the girls thought she was on a prank show
One of my favourite series❤
Man the door to door internet guys just knocked on my door mid video scared the shit out of me lol
The Armero disaster chapter was excellent, everything was well researched. Omaria's videos and everything related to that tragedy is very hard to watch. 1985 was a terrible year for Colombia, the supreme court building siege by the M-19 guerrilla was horrible too, same year.
I was expecting a prank but this is the morbid reality
Really is once you think about it.
Clicking on a video thinking it'll be a joke because it is April 1st, then getting hit with the horrors of Earth.
