Zondervan provided this Bible in exchange for an honest review.
I have been wanting a large print, verse by verse, center column reference, RED LETTER, with a good concordance, on at least 36 gsm paper with at least a 3/4" margin for some short notes. I have noticed a trend of publishers calling 9 - 9.5 point font as large print, which is terribly deceptive for someone who is somewhat visually challenged. I wish there was consistency among publishers about the print sizes. Even when you open up other Bibles for comparison in your reviews (thank you for that), it's difficult to tell whether or not I can easily read the text. Sigh!
9.5 font WITH comfort print is usually readable for me. Cambridge bibles HAVE bold fonts which are dark and readable down to about 9 points font
Awesome review Randy on the classic reference nasb.
Thanks Ruby!!
Wish they made this black letter 😢
Gutter space is important. I think you are right about that.
I have this bible right now and I agree. That it is very tightly bound causing the issues mentioned. I wonder if it will loosen. I do have an older Crossway Top Grain mini edge lined that loosened after some breaking in and now wants to stay open.
Got my on the 14 Sep and I don’t have this issue. But I have heard plenty of people do my stays flat from Genesis. Love the size of it.
thanks Randy, picked it up!
It does look like a very good carry Bible, but it does go in the gutter too much. Maybe the leathersoft edition which will not be edge lined will be a better. Also, dows this or any of the Zondervan NASB 95 come in all black letters that is not a premium Bible?
Awesome review, as always, Randy! That size of a Bible is great. But yeah, that gutter space is definitely too small. I like how the references look, though, and the font seems nice for a Bible this size. Just trade offs I guess... Blessings my brother 🤗
Thank you!!
Once you break it in gutter is no issue. I worked mine in like a baseball glove over the last week an now it's absolutely fantastic. Pliable, lays flat, gutter opens up.
@@geoffreyverkade8760 great news. I was hoping it would. Thanks for sharing!
@@BibleBuyingGuide Your welcome brother! God Bless!
I got the buffalo leather for this. Thanks.
Hey Randy,
Do you know if the leathersoft edition is edge lined?
Hi Omar. I haven't seen that one. I'd guess it isn't, but I can't say for sure.
I wonder if they will make one in the 2020 text?
Thanx, BBG🌹🌹🌹
How has this Bible now, or how did this Bible break in for you? Did it ever come close to opening flat and sid the gutter open up some?
is it pronounced "sm-eye-th"...or "smith" sewn...?...
Long i (eye)
The text is too far into the gutter and with the stiffness this is a Bible good for reading while traveling to work or vacation. The Clarion print is not semi bold and based on the size of the font it is too light for me. Cambridge does not make Bibles as they used to. Ever since they decided to publish multiple translations they have gone down hill. Price has gone sky high for what they print.
Wow
Is this kjv?
