This is my favorite story of TheBuriedTruck. You'd never see Spencer and Daisy interact in the show, but in fan content they actually bounce off well as while similar in persona, they are also polar opposites. I also like the mention of Percy and Rheneas once being used on an album cover too as I had read about it.
What an amusing tale and a splendid adaption. Thoroughly enjoyed Spencer and Daisy's rivalry. In truth Daisy's not wrong as she is unique as she's derived from a design that would normally be a DMU. Btw if anyone's interested the real life album cover Mallard was featured on is called "Modern life is rubbish" by Blur. It was a clever plot point to wrap things up.
Also, what Percy was talking about to Spencer was that the English syth-pop duo 'Erasure''s original front cover of their 1986 single "Oh L' amour" featured illustrations of him and Rheneas from the Railway Series. However, as permission wasn't given to use the illustrations, that original front cover was withdrawn, and replaced by a plain black cover with song title and band name instead.
@@RailRocketRicky Ah cool didn't know that. I do like these sort of stories. They acknowledge real life but don't get too bogged down in the details which works a treat.
I love this story. Daisy & Spencer is such an interesting conflict, I’m surprised and wished the actual show had these two egomaniacs in a rivalry with one another, as these clearly got the same personality, but with a fee differences. This episode was just hilarious! Great job
A story with Spencer and Daisy. This works perfectly as it shows 2 engines of different classes trying to outdo each other. When you get competitive, your actions can lead to nothing but trouble. But at least these two learnt their lessons the hard way.
Nice! I really like the new visuals, and I never thought I would see a story with Diesel, Spencer, and electric engines. The bitterness Diesel feels for the electric engines is similar to how the steam engines felt towards diesels
Interesting story, about Daisy and Spencer. Loved the feature of older characters too, though I'm surprised Bulgy is in his green paint. And love the Mallard at the end.
some how I really like how Daisy crossed Spencer while they was both trying to get their pictures taken, I think Daisy really showed her devious side when she made use some of the bad quilty steam coal that Toby had brought into the yard
Good moral. Some engines [like people] never learn. Surely Daisy and Spencer should be mature due to their old age. Maybe you could write a story where Spencer works at Whiff's Waste Dump to teach him a lesson. Meanwhile Daisy stays in her shed until she's needed again.
Well even mature,Daisy would still be lazy,as for Spencer, well he would still be egotistical and pridefull, but he at least would stop boausting about being the fastest steam engine in the world even though the title and record belong to his brother,Mallard.
Fun Fact: Percy wasn't kidding about being on an album cover. An illustration of him from Percy The Small Engine was used for the Erasure cover for Oh L'amour. Rhenaes was also on the cover too, with his illustration being from Gallant Old Engine. It didn't last, mainly for legal reasons but it's still a cool fact. Nice reference to it for sure!
@@zemcbird2024 Definitely a karmic death because of his arrogance. A warning to other possibly proud engines like James, Gordon, Henry and Percy [unless they've matured too]
I saw Blur last weekend at Wembley Stadium. They were fantastic! They played quite a few songs from _Modern Life is Rubbish_ too!

Oh no spencer and daisy will be trouble from the ash of the bad coal!.
That Mallard album cover is real. It's the album cover for "Modern Life is Rubbish" by Blur.
Also the original cover to 'Oh L'Amour' by Erasure had images of Percy and Rheneas on, which Percy mentions to Spencer in the vid.

I'd say Summer 1989 is a good setting for this very story.

I thought the burst of black smoke from Spencer's funnel looked really cool.
I think its soot from the horrible coal that Daisy made Spencer refuel his tender with It
Sir toppham - My hatt.
Spencer- Shit😳

Most interesting to see an appearance of the silver workshop diesel from that one annual story. Great Episode btw!

Love the Erasure reference.
Spencer should consider himself lucky his boiler didn't explode.
that would've probably been his death

Spencer and Daisy interactions? I'm intrigued.
Who’s the big grey diesel at sheds between diesel and Dennis
Oh yeah, that's "Lunchbox McQuack," by Halfbaked8. It's in Sodor Workshops in the "Obscure characters" tab in the competitions section.
Hello there can you please tell me were you got the spencer and molly models please.
Hatt read the letter out loud "The metal musicians thought Spencer's eruption was totally metal and couldn't be happier with the photos."
Thought this would be about the other sort of records, but still enjoyed it nonetheless.
where did you get the spencer dasiy and stanley models
A RWS original & a TV series original! Such an excellent pairing!
What exactly are these musicians getting pictures of Engines for?
You going to do any culdee fell stories?
He should. It'd be nice to see Godred again either in a ghost form or rebuilt. What if Godred became an angel after his death rather than a demon?
@@evanclarke5561 I just wish sodor workshop would make them along with the small railway engines
Aaaa!
Does anyone Know what the song at 8:37 is
Always crack up at Spencer's theme...sounds like standard trope "Shopping Spree Music".
that was a nice story!
3:11 This Made Daisy Cross, And She Roll Away.
Idk why but I love the classic sudric diesel horn
That's a great story!
Vicarstown Route where?
Nice episode
Well done 👍😁
MY HĀÁAAAÃȚT!!!!
I like to see a railway gala story
6:45 My Hat!
Who was Devious Diesel talking to? Did the grey diesel even have a name?
Wasn't Spencer supposed to have silver buffers?.
Where'd you get the models?
I can't believe Daisy made Spencer take on bad Quality steam coal?
I didn't know that Spencer and Daisy knew each other.
What's wrong with Percy's eyes?
Oops! Oh dear! Both came up badly.
IT'S NOT LIKE DAISY TO BE A DEVIUES DIESEL RAIL-CAR
its not like Daisy to be a Devious diesel
Well nothing is impossible
This diesels mouth is on a door. These diesels deserve to be scrapped just for that
Wife located at 3:20
Hey I have a model of mallard
Why is Spencer so boastful
