I wish McGruff was around more often. I barely see him on TV anymore, with the Geico ad being the last thing I saw him in.

I really like how they gave McGruff a Colombo-like voice, it really suits him. I think they introduced his nephew Scruff because of the [brief] popularity of Scrappy Doo?
Possibly. I think Scruff started around the same time as A Pup Named Scooby-Doo which also could have inspired the character.
