These kinds of reviews are frustrating as blizzard has been transparent about how they are building games for profit over fun for many years now. They have milked you twice now and a third is coming soon. This community is completely unable to move past nostalgia and blizzard knows it.
This was the first year I didn't know anyone who played retail wow or call of duty. All my d4 friends quit 2 weeks into this expac. Everyone is waiting for poe2 and then blizzard will abandon d4 completely as there will be no point sinking millions into a vastly inferior product.
100%. Blizz has their communities on farm. Their shareholders love it! The blizz engine is fueled by copium as people eat this tripe up... It blows my mind anyone plays d4 or retail wow. They get everything they deserve imo.
There's a reason this xpac is the first one I didn't purchase. Every review I see coming down further justifies that decision. You've got a class outperforming every other class by several orders of magnitude due to bugs, and the devs won't fix them because their fanbase screeches like banshees whenever that happens. A class you paid 50 bucks for, no less. Yeah, hard pass.
This isn't about nostalgia, not for me at least. There is no alternative game on the market with a similar production value - the graphics are insanely good here, the gameplay flow is incredibly satisfying. Nothing from arpg genre comes even close. I wanted to switch to PoE2 so hard, but it just doesn't look as good and therefore not appealing to me. But again - I'm playing on Eternal realm in d4 and I don't really mind paying 40eur a year.

Neyrelle choosing to trap Mephisto in a soulstone will never make sense to me. We know since Diablo 2 that the Primes know how to corrupt the soulstones, thus utilizing the power of Creation itself to their advantage. Mephisto was slowly and painstakingly reforming in his own realm in Hell, it would have been better to just leave him there. Since the wanderer kills Lilith, she's no longer a problem, she'll reform in Hell later like any other demon, with Mephisto maybe reforming before her thus allowing him to enslave/punish her as retaliation for attempting to devour him and his power. Putting Mephisto in a soulstone attuned to Hatred and then running off alone with it was just about the worse thing she could have done. Bruh.
Even by the games own logic and story it makes no sense, as she couldn't fight off a zombie, why the hell did the experienced adventurers allow her to go off, outside of forcing the strong independent boss babe in there
@@thomasdr08 Doesn't she end up intensively studying the Horadrim when the wanderer and Donan find her sleeping at the Horadric Vault? If she was able to memorize their secret code to communicate, she should have known. Finding, fighting and imprisoning the Prime Evils is one of the most important accomplishments and objectives of the Horadrim. So either that one vault was severely lacking in important info, and/or Donan and Lorath failed to teach her the basics. Either way, Lorath should have told her, it's common sense considering what they were doing.
Man. How else will they keep milking the brand and make Diablo 4, 6, 10, Diablo 2040 etc? You guys don't get it yet? There is no sense or logic because Blizzard wants a story that doesn't end and a story that has no end will, of course, be full of nonsense.
Blizzard charges money for worse content than GGG gives away for free. I don't understand how there are still people left willing to pay them for this garbage. I know we're all nostalgic for the Blizzard of the late 90s and early 2000s, but that Blizzard's been dead for nearly two decades now. It's time to move on. It was time to move on 10 years ago.
The mercs are pretty lame. Outside of their unique ability, they feel super weak when fighting enemies. Actually hang back and watch them fight, they struggle to topple basic weak enemies. The only real use they give for me is Subo's enemy detection and then buying boss mats with the silver. I think they should add the option to let us equip them. This would make them much more viable.
I don't have a problem having an issue with the story telling/narrative in this expansion, but let's not pretend that Diablo, as a series, is not driven by chasing MacGuffins for hours at a time...
Stop playing their games. Problem solved. They are literally designed to milk money and time from you, why the hell do you keep playing them? Especially this one when there are so many better alternatives. Blizzard is dead. Accept that and move on.
Dont buy this alpha game, you are paying to be a game tester its very far away from being finished. I own the base game and boycotted the expansion as soon as i knew what it came with. All the expansion content feels like gamemodes thrown behind a paywall nothing else. Diablo IV is a playable store and will take all future content and just throw it in store. Then in like 2-3 years they will prolly add them as farmable transmog. The game has zero identity and feels like its created by 5 separete teams with 0 communication inbetween. I give it a 6/10, get base game/expansion on a very low sale and it might be worth it.
I also own base game and not the expansion. Got the base game at 50% off and it just felt like I got my moneys worth. It just doesn’t feel like Diablo. The “kill thousands of monsters at lightning speed and then pick up 30 beams of light” thing loses its lustre pretty quick. Items have no “oomph”. Green arrow up = equip. Red arrow down = don’t equip. Skill tree is laughable. Overall, the things that make Diablo fun and unique are just afterthoughts in this game. 6/10 seems like a fair rating.
I'm playing D4 with the Xbox pass, and I like it but I would never pay like 140$ or some ridiculous sh!t like that for it, if you get D4 and expansion for like $60 it doesn't feel as bad, anything over that is just a rip off.
Thats because the game is developed by multiple teams. Who all have to proof read eachothers work even ppl who have no experience in certain areas. This is why things are always broken or poorly designed.
@@binkyboy8yah I gotta disagree with the green arrow up it just sounds like you never made it to endgame you’re damage can 10x from one item that may have less dps but better affixes or worse stats but a higher legendary power.
Im confused about people painting Diablo 2 as if it is some kind of masterpiece in storytelling. Not saying Diablo 3 and 4 is any better but as interesting as the world building is the actual events in the game doesn't blow me away by any measure it is a barebone motivation in order to get you to the end of the game.
Its story is crap, its world has been ruined, Diablo 3 did a lot to harm the Dia 2 legacy, but Diablo 4 story was really god awful. So playing in that world is less fun. Not to mention how gear progression works is less fun than even Dia 3 was
Diablo 4 basic story is 100times better than D3. D3 storytelling is so childish and cringe. But then comes VoH, I don't even know which one is shittier anymore.but plz, remember, D3 story, campaign is the biggest letdown in the last 20 years if gaming
@@onnol917 I wouldn't say pretty good, but much better than D3. Also it has some really bad writings in it. And some of the story is a bit stupid. I do agree VoH story sucks ass.
They forgot how to make games period. Although that isn't fair either. The people at Blizzard now aren't the ones who "forgot" anything; they are interns and overpaid corpos who never had anything to do with their successful titles. The "geniuses" at the top of Blizzard canceled Diablo 3's second expansion and fired the whole team that made the 1st expansion a success.
@@Atmywitzend Yeah, that's basically what I said. They fired the team that made the previous game, then realized they messed up and put a bunch of nobodies on the project to churn out a new game with maximum monetization as quickly as they felt they could. The story of D3 is really "interesting" in that they thought it was a failure because of the player reaction after launch, then cancelled it before they realized Reaper of Souls was actually a success, leading to a situation where they were left holding a bag of nothing because of their own actions.
they didnt fire them.. they went and made diablo immortal. The D3 team is for the most part the Diablo Immortal devs. The person in charge of D4 killed Gear of War and to me it seems like the D4 team are people who this is one of their 1st games they ever made. Why do I think that? Many of the original D4 devs left or got fired before the base game released.
@@Shazam081 You can look this up. It's in tons of articles. D3's second expansion was cancelled. They had that team work on a new project, but didn't like the direction (rogue-like/over-the-shoulder/Souls-like) and cancelled that too, which led to the team being broken apart and replaced by the current team, more or less. Google the second expansion ("King in the North") or read Jason Schrier's book/articles on Blizzard recently and you'll find the deets.
If you spent 58hrs in poe you can probably clear all the end game content except super juiced map or uber bosses. Any one that says d4 is good for casual just dont want to use their brain
That is not true is not about time is about how complex systems can get I've tried POE 3 times I just can't. I don't understand anything happening, and all the decent guides are 1 h+. Just the act of Coping a build becomes a chore, with D4 I can turn my bran off and enjoy the grind.
@jose91807 just do harvest, and follow a pob build guide, I got mageblood by farming harvest 2 league and it's simple af. If you have time you can work other complex league mechanics
D4 story is pure trash. I dont know why people defend it. Lets review. Emo devil girl introduced through a third party warcraft book author is praised in a overly cliche way. Cain is replaced with a worthless drunk. Teenager learns horadric in a week insulting the entire order and what it stood for in lore from first two games. Lilith doesn’t actually do anything until one scene where she kills an angel (overplayed theme since d3 which ruined Tyraels character and bad arsery. Then you get coerced by a devil dog (meph) where after his soul stone was shattered at hellforge in D2, can now manifest as a wolf dog, who can (wtf) teleport himself and others while hes trapped in a resin ball in hell. The. You do a terrible boss fight with lilith and its game over. Then you get to endlessly play the dull overworld filled with insects, bugs, and animals instead of demons…you know…the thing the franchise is about. Items and skills are an illusion of choice. Everyone plays the same builds with the same specs. Choose a fire wizard? One skill choice per branch. Whatever isnt nerfed that season. Then paragon board is already predetermined. The fire boards. Then the “ladder” system they use is greater rifts. Theres no customization abilities or you suck as a char. Game sucks. Made by a corrupt censorship company that DEI’d the D2:R chars on the logon screen. D4 is worthless. Long live poe2.
Yup, add to that endless McGuffin quests, mindless plot twists, such as the tourist-like death of Donan the donut. Whatever. Ah, yes, let's pay special homage to the tedium infinitum of riding around clicking on Lillith shrines. Why do those exist? The followers of your nemesis (is she that even?) had put up shrines in her name to make you more powerful somehow, so that you could pursue her more efficiently. Yeah, that made sense. Why does the devil dog kill and chew on your horse in the game's opening sequence? Don't know. Don't care. And all that leads to my favorite mystery of all. How did Lillith ever reproduce with that utter, obnoxious moron that is Inarius!? I mean, was she on antidepressants at the time? Not a shred of the plot even begins to shed light on that bit of insufferable lore. Who churned this out!? The whole D4 story line has all the red flags of having been written by a committee.
agree d4 story minus expansion was dogshit minus one cool entertaininng cutscene, post xpac the story is dogshit after you fed your dog a full can of refried beens and white castle burgers, ie- break out the gasmask, neyrelle is the most annoying character ever I have zero empathy for her and would have been way more satisfied if the cujo version of mephisto made her expload and the expac came with 3d glasses just to watch pieces of her fly at you through the screen.
Lilith showed up in a D2 multiplayer quest only as a super boss first IIRC. Her original fluff also painted her in a more sympathetic light. Then it all got retconned because that's all Blizzard knows how to do.
Saying that spiritborn is broken or "a lot stronger than other classes" is veeeeeeery big understatement. He is literally billion times better than the second best class in the game. When other classes struggling to deal more than few billions damage with near perfect eq he does billion times more. Its like 1B vs 1 000 000 000B. Thats how big is difference between spiritborn and the rest.
Are they seriously up to a bill with the damage numbers these days? Man... these poor kids. Five digits is more than enough for anyone... I always look at these new diablo games and wonder why god has abandoned us so. It's the little things that matter, like the inventory items being tiny and small so they feel less valuable... If something so trivial to do, but has such a massive impact on vibes, isn't done I have zero faith in the game director getting anything right. (Diablo 3 failing at basic combat ASMR with constant metal-on-metal scraping noises sure was a thing. I had never, ever had a game cause me PHYSICAL pain before. Diablo 3 changed that.) I say all this as someone who thinks Diablo 2 is massively flawed in many ways. 'Make Diablo 2, but get rid of all the crappy things. Then add more stuff.' Seems so simple, but so far beyond their designers who just want to make a game for the sake of making a game.
No, this game has NOT come a long way. Its essentially thje dull boring slogfeast it has alwayhs been. The overdrama in the story line shuts me off and the stuid ending of the baSE GAME IS ABSURD. Just getting buigger number to do boss fights we have already done time and time again. FIght the same monsters over and over again. A dull slog indeed.
I play a mighty throw barbarian. I had to retemper my main weapon but I never rolled the temper I needed and since tempers are limited it effectively broke it. It will take me hours and hours to get a new weapon. I decided to uninstall. I'm tired of these layers and layers of RNG. I'm tired of crafting being totally RNG based (and btw, how does that work? Does the blacksmith close their eyes and strike the weapon at a random spot?) Ancestral legendaries are too rare considering there are still a ton of junk affixes still.
Lmao at the blacksmith blindly hitting a random spot, spot on. That is only to force game time on you, Ugrading should be instead slow and hard to come by , not rng rolled entirely. Id love a blacksmith questline with fame like in d3 where you do some hard demon slaying to get rewarded perks and so
Sorry, this attitude and blizzard listening to it is exactly the downfall of the franchise. You just want instant best in slot gear that is not rare or difficult to find? So you can have nothing else to pursue after a few hours played and can quit the game, completed? D2 is pretty universally recognized as the best in the series. You can play that game for a decade and never find the best runes or items. That's what makes it so good. You always have a chance to find something to improve your character. It's crazy exciting to get a high runes drop. They already made d3 so that 10 legendaries drop every time you kill a boss. Play a few days, and you'll have full his gear and can retire til next season. It's not a recipe for a fun arpg.
the true failure of D4 is that it can't even satisfy people with as low standards as yours. Describing runes from d2 as socketables with some passive effects and comparing them to the garbage system added in VoH is truly unbelievable.
Pointless expansion story wise, everyone playing Spiritborn, killed sparks for alts, killed eternal characters (again), elongated single character levelling, more painful gear and aspect grind. The 3 month hamster wheel is just not fun. Season 4 was peak D4.
pretty much, its the least fun i've had since launch. so much so that I don't intend to play anymore. Its just diablo 3 now, there is a reason I stopped playing diablo 3.
For example D2 always had an exciting loot chase because there were super-rare Uniques for every class. Now there aren't. Every necromancer and sorcerer is just using whatever legendary-affix wand/dagger/sword/mace they can find with the most and correct affixes. Gear is generic, this season everything is trash unless it has +GA. Season 5 was better.
Never mind Lorath, dude, where the hell is Diablo? In a game entitled Diablo? This is unforgiveable, Bliz is just trolling the players with this joke of a story at this point. Maybe I could tolerate it if the game was fun to play, but they went and turned VoH into a tedious, unrewarding grind, thereby destroying all the goodwill they had earned with the fun seasons 4 and 5. No thanks, I'm out.
honestly. I think the stats are so buckshot is because they wanted this game to be a single player arpg that is built to be an mmo. Why is there 40+ stats so you team up with people to cover your weakness. Why are enemies Really spongy so you can call in players to help you. Why are their raids so the end gamers can show off their 20 dollar I mean so that you all can see how great everyone did together and team up playing together.
Does the endgame that good, when all activities are that basic and simple ? Just look at bosses compare to the new LE's one or Poe, in Diablo 4 they're just pinatas without good mecanics, they're all feel bland. As you said everything feel like content for adding content, nothing meaningful.
what’s your vote? ❤️ - The November 12th D4 Campfire Chat & subsequent patch will address at least 50% of known in-game issues, reduce game crashes, & entice players to delve deep into the End Game loop by incentivizing rewards beyond the existing Paragon leveling grind. 😈 - no chance in Diablo’s Hell this one makes a difference. 🐢 - I like turtles
😈for sure. never have any of the campfires substantially changed anything. at most, we get a promise of "this thing that people REALLY want is coming... eventually(TM)" it took them HOW LONG to fix the horse getting stuck on pebbles??? MONTHS! UNACCEPTABLE I could not have any less faith in the team. not to poop on any particular devs, they are just doing their jobs. but leadership over D4 is a horrible mess. Rod Turdgusson is the real problem imo. He ruined GoW, now he's ruining Diablo.
I'd return to the game if they gave us incentive to roam the open world. How about after every 1k kills in a region a random boss spawns and then after 10k kills ALL the game's bosses spawn throughout the region? Then you can move onto another region to do it again. I think it's really silly to summon the same boss dozens of times in a row. It trivializes the boss fights.
@@TheXandeyn Thanks! And they could spice things up even more by having rare occasions where a boss (or two) spawns inside a dungeon in the region and it becomes a tormented dungeon with better loot but very dangerous.
Aside from new content, I would only change 2 things: - either give us more difficulty levels per reduce the massive gap between each Torment tier - paragon 200+ feels like hitting a fucking wall - bonus: maybe let us actually get a mythic unique? Haven't seen one since release
D4 is inheretly unredeemable. Diablo worked because it was all about you being a hero against the odds. Now you are a chosen nephilim or whatever, but also there's like thousands of you. And there's no end goal. At least in d2 you knew you finished when you killed hell baal. Sure, there was other stuff after that, but you could confidently say you finished a playthrough.
I think you hit the nail on the head. I enjoyed the expansion story while playing it, but once I hit the end of it and looked back I was disappointed. The grind loop is fun but sometimes feels pointless. I still like the game, but my love of diablo is starting to fade somewhat.
When Diablo 4 was released I said "I don't have the money for this kind of game right now, maybe at Christmas" then Christmas came around I thought "O looks like it is still not in a great place, well lets wait till the first expansion, that is where Diablo 3 went from fine to the game that I still play from time to time" Now from what I have heard so far this seems to be the first Diablo game I am not going to play. It is kind of sad. Instead I am quite excited for PoE 2 to release. I have barely played any PoE (like 200 hours by now) and I am more excited for that sequel than I am for Diablo 4, a series that I have spent tons of time on and some of my greatest gaming memories.
Isn't the plot just copying diablo 2 story. As you chase Aidan or the dark wanderer around as he is corrupted by Diablo and that corruption affecting areas that you have to go through to chase him down?
This is actually the first diablo game i have no intention of getting. After playing d4 base for a few months when it came out , i shortly found myself switching back to d2r. Feels bad.
Yet its being praised by diablo content creators as usual. With the last blizz balance remaining earned from playing wow in the past, i bought the d4 expansion hoping for a big improvement like what ROS did for D3 but this is more like a season's worth of content with 1 new class and a bad story. Done with blizzard games now as i feel my money is better spent on better games made by other companies.
I actually like spiritborn. I think each of the classes do play differently. I like the huge numbers. I like the bugs that make spiritborn broken; they should be a feature. I'm surprised that, with all the history laid out, you didn't point out how unusual it is to get more than 1 expansion. Here's what's really going on: *we are getting the individual acts as expansions.*
I did a deep investigation and found out that Blizzard is selling dup codes to 3d party sellers, wait next season and at day one you can have access to millions of mats/gold/runes and more already in stock, disgusting 🤮
I stopped supporting blizzard. Their business motto is - Digital cosmetic sales shop priority with addon reskinned game - 0 creative development. Good video, glad I voice my opinion by not supporting this scummy company anymore.
The biggest untold story that you will get mountains of shit for telling is that D4, despite being so incomplete and lacking content, was a fundamentally more fun video game at launch than it is now with all the extra content. They simply turned it in to any other zoom zoom go fast fast ARPG and the minute to minute gameplay is utterly vapid as a result.
Didn’t want to pay, although I’ve been invested in this storyline since 1999. How you explain the story sounds exactly like the base Diablo 2 story: we spent the entire game chasing the wanderer. This just sounds like a rehash of that. What makes the story of d2 more enjoyable than this one? Edit: holy shit, that rune system is hot garbage
This is similar to how I feel about the expansion. I bailed at around paragon 210. Leveling was boring and and the story was dull. But paragon 20 to 150 was fun. Progress (and fun) slowed down after that. Torment 4 was too stupidly hard, so I went back to 3. The game also seemed empty. Few people for open world events. I never saw anyone during a realmwalker event. Never. Diablo is my bubble-wrap popping game. It scratches an itch that needs scratching. So I'll probably be back.
So what you're saying is: - pay in excess of 100 buckaroos to get the most half-baked, lukewarm, milque-toast experience the ARPG genre has ever seen OR - install PoE and play for free, each league having more content than current Diablo IV and its expansions combined. BONUS ROUND Choose between: - keep playing D IV, waiting to pay a minimum of $40 on the next expansion and inhale major copium that it will now be a comprehensive, engaging experience < this time > OR - pay only $30 to get to play the PoE 2 Early Access with more content, better support and quality life features, build diversity, variety of items and actual endgame Gee guys, I dunno...I just can't make up my mind!
If you can rely on people buying Blizzard games because they're chasing nostalgia, you can rely on people similarly addicted to calling them out for it.
I think the biggest issue with d4 is this, it doesnt know what sort of diablo game it wants to be. It's stuck in this weird middle ground between D2 and D3. It has gear and level grind from D2 but player speed and power creep from D3. The devs need to pick a direction and srick with it. Them trying to do this weird balance between D2 and D3 styles makes the game just bland. These two styles directly go against one and other, as well as having different fan bases, and holds the game back.
It’s the same pattern as seen in 14:49 Star Wars, Indiana Jones and LOTR. Bring in a Mary sue who mocks and effortlessly surpasses the old order. Neyrelle is to Diablo what Rey is to Star Wars. What kind of Diablo game doesn’t have Diablo in it? One whose promotions had newcomer Lillith holding his skull like he was no big deal.
I didn't purchase this expansion (a first for me, I've been playing Blizzard games since high school in the '90s) and every review I see makes me feel better and better about that choice.
This season was my last. I also loved the original story and was looking forward to continuation. What I got was so underwhelming and anti climatic that I'm no longer interested or engaged with the story. I feel like they're just gonna drag it out and milk the fans more and more. The gameplay was just more of the same, and I played every season so far. Season mechanic is a complete failure. In the future, I will just watch the cutscenes on youtube to follow the story. Cutscenes is pretty much the only good thing left about D4 at this point.
they just don't get it and I'm tired of it. take every class the game came out with and expand on every skill regardless if it is passive or not. class customization by the time of first season after expansion should be your absolute top priority. ill use necro for example because i play it. so ill start with the most worthless skill in necro the corpse explosion. use should be able to build literally a whole build for necro around this one skill and it should essentially look like this: 1. unlock corpse explosion and upgrade with skill points. 2. have ability the assign core type (blood, Shadow, bone) depending on path chosen take the type then expand from there 3. so if i were to pick shadow part for skill then expand to have multiple options 1. DOT 2. trigger overpower OR 3. trigger crit strike. (these are just for examples.) 4. then if i pick DOT now this is where you start assigning the additional damage and afflictions of every thing selected and make passive skills to boost damage or defensive. 5. depending on the options selected the skill's effect visual should change. it should pop visually.
Spiritborn is a discount monk. No party support making the only class with substantial support abilities is… the barb. And the mercs are almost inconsequential compared to the D2 and D3 mercs.
i've done all events and activies, im trying to get mythic but cannot find that paticular rune. feels like runes are just as rare as th mythics. been farming undercity for days but still havent gottoen all runes. getting boared aleady.
Anyone still supporting ActiBlizzard at this point is either living under a rock or has a fetish for wasting their money on terrible games and supporting awful game companies.
at the 35 min mark, I can say that balancing is really frustrating on all Blizzard games. I played WoW for a long time and it was so frustrating to invest so much into a certain class and subclass and will have a 50/50 chance that would get gutted in the next patch. It does not help that most players are such meta slaves right now that even if the all the classes are still viable enough for a raid and mplus dungeon 1-20, they still wont accept you on the party if your class is not S or A tier even if the dungeon you are applying to is mplus 10. lol
Diablo 2's mercs are still the best in the series. Being able to equip them with items that gave auras to your PC would tilt the power balance and allow for some pretty cool builds.
Nereylle was a garbage character from the second she was introduced. We're going into to hell to fight demons and maybe the devil himself. Why would anyone bring a teenager that has to stop to study for her SATs
I just can’t understand why we only get one class? How do games like last epoch and Poe get so many classes and interesting variations. They give us one new class and act like gods. Also Diablo 4 should have had paladin in the base game
Yet you still play the same old builds in PoE and LE. I don't get why people boast about PoE's passive three, when all of them, follow the same paths over and over again, lol. Just take a look at PoEninja, look at the top 10 builds every season, all the same. They only switch places according to the nerfs or buffs. I commend devs like the ones working on D4 and LE for not bending to the will of PoE toxic fanboys/streamers that think, games should be made to their liking. Just give it a few months and leagues, and streamers and PoE fanboys, will bash PoE2, like they always do, lol.
How come this game is still called Diablo at all? It´s not and never was about fighting any of the prime evils. It´s just a worse disgned ARPG looter with some story and lore around and about them. But i never felt any tension or excitement going through the expansion. The more the main quest progressed the more bored i got only to get completely pissed off what the ending was like. They "new" devs are actually and obviously starting from scratch repeating mistakes from D3 and having nothing leearned from the past. It seems whenever they go 1 step foward only to find themselves 4 steps backwards in the next expansion or season. It´s a really antagonizing and frustrating situation with the devs which clearly neither love or play their own game at all. We are quite done with the game as it is and are looking foward to other titles like POE2.

A major positive of Diablo 4 is that it makes Diablo 3 look like a masterpiece.
it really does

Plot of Diablo: Neyrell is in another castle
Yeah I picked up on that really early in the game and it took a lot of wind out of the sails for me
lmaoooo fr fr fr
The much awaited sequel to: Lillith is in another castle
"undisputed kings of PC expansions"....??? And talking like this let them get away with garbage expansions for 15+ years
Yeah i was going "HUHHH" when he said that, ive never thought as anyone as a leading innovator in DLC/Expansion content, let along Blizzard lmao.
his script at the beginning of the video felt almost AI generated. I'm not sure why some content creators can't get to the point right away.
Bruh.
Even by the games own logic and story it makes no sense, as she couldn't fight off a zombie, why the hell did the experienced adventurers allow her to go off, outside of forcing the strong independent boss babe in there
She’s not a horadrim, so she doesn’t know that. It’s why Mephisto approached her specifically, like how Baal approached Marius.
@@thomasdr08 the people that adventured together with her should have know that is the major problem with her
@@thomasdr08 Doesn't she end up intensively studying the Horadrim when the wanderer and Donan find her sleeping at the Horadric Vault?
Marketing and nostalgia.
"Blizzard have trained their players to eat shit and enjoy it"
Not everyone likes POE. I've tried it three times, and all of them quit after some time. The game is just too complex for a casual player.
@@jose91807just watch a guide
The mercs are pretty lame. Outside of their unique ability, they feel super weak when fighting enemies. Actually hang back and watch them fight, they struggle to topple basic weak enemies.
The only real use they give for me is Subo's enemy detection and then buying boss mats with the silver.
I think they should add the option to let us equip them. This would make them much more viable.
@@GripChief Yeah I was hoping a mix of D2 mercs offensive capability and D3 mercs utility.
How the F some rando would be able to kill a wanderer that murdered bunch of mega demons and Lilith? Ridiculous.
It's not surprising when the people who made Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, Wow Vanilla and TBC ; these people are all gone...
Even old Chris Metzen is gone, although he came back at Blizz.
apparently they cant make good games when theyre not allowed to steal breastmilk
Blizzard not retaining the Diablo 2 dev team is idiotic
I read a old patch note blog from Blizzard, "We have fixed an issue..." Over 150 times in the same blog.
It was kinda hilarious...
@ I haven’t bought VoH because it’s a money grab but I got to around lv 90 with my Rogue in season 5
Monetization policies have destroyed the fun and soul of the industry
Give up on Activision Blizzard... The OGs are gone. Writers these days are f tier.
Diablo 4 had a pretty good story, what are you on about?
@@onnol917 I wouldn't say pretty good, but much better than D3. Also it has some really bad writings in it. And some of the story is a bit stupid.
I do agree VoH story sucks ass.
@@KrigHammar Diablo 4 didn't really have a story, you run after Lilith and that's it. The dialogue is just as stupid and cringe as in D3.
@mcmarkmarkson7115 somehow D2 story was not too complicated either. You ran after diablo. Yet, it was superior compared to these abominations.
the expansion is NOT worth 40 dollars
They forgot how to make games period. Although that isn't fair either. The people at Blizzard now aren't the ones who "forgot" anything; they are interns and overpaid corpos who never had anything to do with their successful titles. The "geniuses" at the top of Blizzard canceled Diablo 3's second expansion and fired the whole team that made the 1st expansion a success.
They didnt forget how to make games they just dont make games for gamers anymore. They make them for shareholders. Full stop.
I’m sorry, but for the people that had high expectations for this, you got what you deserve 😂
The funny thing is that girl they build up to carry Mephistos soulstone was defeated by zombie. So even their own stupid build up fails.
Yeah it’s mid af, the people praising it are just fanboys overdosing on cope
agree d4 story minus expansion was dogshit minus one cool entertaininng cutscene, post xpac the story is dogshit after you fed your dog a full can of refried beens and white castle burgers, ie- break out the gasmask, neyrelle is the most annoying character ever I have zero empathy for her and would have been way more satisfied if the cujo version of mephisto made her expload and the expac came with 3d glasses just to watch pieces of her fly at you through the screen.
Diablo 3 changed that.)
I say all this as someone who thinks Diablo 2 is massively flawed in many ways.
I just finished playing the free trial of Diablo 4.
I'm going back to Diablo 2.
Does the blacksmith close their eyes and strike the weapon at a random spot?)
Ancestral legendaries are too rare considering there are still a ton of junk affixes still.
Lmao at the blacksmith blindly hitting a random spot, spot on. That is only to force game time on you, Ugrading should be instead slow and hard to come by , not rng rolled entirely.
Id love a blacksmith questline with fame like in d3 where you do some hard demon slaying to get rewarded perks and so
Bet you'll buy next expac tho
@@Atmywitzend I won't and haven't bought Vessel of shit either.
IRL blacksmiths very very rarily ruin their work. its usually something that happens to beginners cause they mess up the heating or quenching
It feels like the writers had a big ADHD problem jumping from one thing to another before you can even take it in in the story...
What happens going forward??? I have no clue. Eru double crossing us with no explanation and then the game ending 5 mins later made me soooo mad
Blizzard forgot how to create diablo games.
"Diablo 4" is incredible boring piece of SHIT.
Nyrelle is the worst written diablo character ever
Yeah. She's like a character that belongs in a "dark" Disney movie/TV show. It's so fucking comical.
the true failure of D4 is that it can't even satisfy people with as low standards as yours.
I don’t really get how they think they can charge for an expansion when the competition is releasing more and deeper content for free
"in the world of diablo 4 evil is relative." -biggest mistake blizzard has made with this franchise.
Sadly, moral relativism is a key tenant of modernity. Thus, it saturates almost all mainstream media.
pretty much, its the least fun i've had since launch. so much so that I don't intend to play anymore. Its just diablo 3 now, there is a reason I stopped playing diablo 3.
I love the lengthy explenation. I don´t play Diablo IV i just chill as a background noise. So thank you for the explenation
I hate Neyrelle as a character and Blizzard keeps trying to force me to like her. So I didn’t even bother to buy this new expansion.
Blizzard expansion did NOT chnage th base game. It added some context but did not change the games they were attached tio. Give us all a bread.

I could not have any less faith in the team. not to poop on any particular devs, they are just doing their jobs. but leadership over D4 is a horrible mess.

I love that. I've never heard that suggested before. Sadly, it's a great idea, and d4 devs are allergic to those.
@@TheXandeyn Thanks! And they could spice things up even more by having rare occasions where a boss (or two) spawns inside a dungeon in the region and it becomes a tormented dungeon with better loot but very dangerous.
Aside from new content, I would only change 2 things:
- either give us more difficulty levels per reduce the massive gap between each Torment tier
- paragon 200+ feels like hitting a fucking wall
- bonus: maybe let us actually get a mythic unique? Haven't seen one since release
D4 is inheretly unredeemable. Diablo worked because it was all about you being a hero against the odds.
Now you are a chosen nephilim or whatever, but also there's like thousands of you. And there's no end goal.
At least in d2 you knew you finished when you killed hell baal. Sure, there was other stuff after that, but you could confidently say you finished a playthrough.
First Diablo game I didn’t buy
Didn’t look interesting and even the name of the class seemed dumb
I think you hit the nail on the head. I enjoyed the expansion story while playing it, but once I hit the end of it and looked back I was disappointed. The grind loop is fun but sometimes feels pointless. I still like the game, but my love of diablo is starting to fade somewhat.
When Diablo 4 was released I said "I don't have the money for this kind of game right now, maybe at Christmas" then Christmas came around I thought "O looks like it is still not in a great place, well lets wait till the first expansion, that is where Diablo 3 went from fine to the game that I still play from time to time"
Now from what I have heard so far this seems to be the first Diablo game I am not going to play.
Feels bad.
yeah, i wrote down why i dont bought the addon. i got hated and called poor.... yeah at least i am not stupid 😂😂
Mercenaries were already improved a lot in the D2 expansion.
D4 Bad.
Cherry on a turd.
Simple FACT.
I did a deep investigation and found out that Blizzard is selling dup codes to 3d party sellers, wait next season and at day one you can have access to millions of mats/gold/runes and more already in stock, disgusting 🤮
As the head of a tiny studio that wants to make an arpg one day, Diablo 4 will be such a great learning tool. If it can still be played by then.
that chanting by neyrelle was annoying ... granted neyrelle is annoying
All of Diablo4 Stream Partner'$ said the new exp is worth buying at launch. Week later same thing; Now month in we have a problem w/game. etc.
It was the same before the game launched, then by the first season many left.
So what you're saying is:
- pay in excess of 100 buckaroos to get the most half-baked, lukewarm, milque-toast experience the ARPG genre has ever seen
OR
- install PoE and play for free, each league having more content than current Diablo IV and its expansions combined.
BONUS ROUND
Choose between:
- keep playing D IV, waiting to pay a minimum of $40 on the next expansion and inhale major copium that it will now be a comprehensive, engaging experience < this time >
OR
- pay only $30 to get to play the PoE 2 Early Access with more content, better support and quality life features, build diversity, variety of items and actual endgame
Gee guys, I dunno...I just can't make up my mind!
How did a game series about fighting against the forces of hell turn into a story about how "actually the church is evil".
Why would blizzard make a game when they can sell a star horse and make more money than the whole of StarCraft 2?
Biggest disappointment was Nirel surviving at the end.
"Do people want to do a raid in a arpg?"
Lost Ark seems to be kind of popular.
they just don't get it and I'm tired of it. take every class the game came out with and expand on every skill regardless if it is passive or not. class customization by the time of first season after expansion should be your absolute top priority.
ill use necro for example because i play it. so ill start with the most worthless skill in necro the corpse explosion. use should be able to build literally a whole build for necro around this one skill and it should essentially look like this:
1. unlock corpse explosion and upgrade with skill points.
2. have ability the assign core type (blood, Shadow, bone) depending on path chosen take the type then expand from there
3. so if i were to pick shadow part for skill then expand to have multiple options 1. DOT 2. trigger overpower OR 3. trigger crit strike. (these are just for examples.)
4. then if i pick DOT now this is where you start assigning the additional damage and afflictions of every thing selected and make passive skills to boost damage or defensive.
5. depending on the options selected the skill's effect visual should change. it should pop visually.
On the bright side, we got POE2 releasing soon. Blizzard would probably look at POE2 and copy some systems in that game.
There is absolutely good and evil in this game..... thinking that all the villaind are sympathetic is insane
Seems like someone is ready to get a taste of Path of Exile 2 in 3 weeks
It all comes down to vision and the right crew on the project. You need the talent. Let the work speak for itself. And don't get in their way.
Terrible expansion
They have no reason to change, people keep buying bad, lazy content.
Lorath Nahr is dead. Pay attention to the base story. He had to give his head to the Tree of Whispers.
your comparisons to LOD are so wrong, mercenaries dont die permanently, the runes are NOTHING like LOD
Vessel of Hatred - ultimate game about power of frendship
Only thing going for D4 was the cinematics and they should make a movie because it would do better then the game but thats just my opinion
If you think the "everyone is evil"-plotline is good, I assume you've been in a coma for the last 20 years.
"I'm a huge fan of the original diablo 4's story" I'm shocked and greatly disappointed that people like you exist.
I love min-maxing with tons of weird systems and I've found using a lot of different systems as a lever works in D4. I enjoy that.
The spirit born is really fun and designed well the problem is why were the other classes not designed the same way ?
Its a vessel full of hatred , what you expect? They sold a god mode class for 70$ , nothing else.
