2 suggestions for the spots you don't like. (I have shied away from laser, too). Lisa Eldridge uses a tiny pinpoint brush, and usually Laura Mercier Secret Concealer and she really spends the time covering it with the brush and softening out the edges. Then she uses one of those incredible Japanese brushes to powder. There is one video with a big blemish, but most of them show you how she does it. It's fast and works really well once you get the hang of it. The second advice is from a 67 year old woman who has never been happier with her looks: Just don't worry about it. Takes a bit of trial and error to let it go, but for the first time in my life, since I turned 60, I look in the mirror and I really like what I see. Don't wait!
Love this advice! 🥰I had to learn to love my freckles when they started looking more like age spots lol. Now I’m not sure what they are! Lol. Life’s so much better when we stop taking ourselves too seriously huh? 😂🥰
Great advice!!! At 48, I've become more comfortable than ever - just being me. I do use makeup, but I don't color my hair - the grays are coming in and I'm just rolling with it. I have an eye cream - Fresh Lotus eye cream whatever in the little pot. I use a little concealer(Nars radiant creamy), but other than that I don't go overboard. I am just trying to ease into my age. I am not fighting it because I find the most beautiful older people are those that have aged gracefully - thinking Helen Mirren. You can't deny she is an older woman, but she is stunning.
Y’know...I’ve now seen the backstage tour but I *still* picture you sitting in a beautiful makeup room with a big window and, like, cucumber water in a crystal pitcher just off-camera. 😄
I love all of your descriptions/instructions - even when you think you are not making the point well. You are so engaging and real - don't change a thing!
I always love your videos, but I think I’m even more appreciative after witnessing the environnement you created to make such nice videos! I’m impressed!
I’m 45, and I’ve begun using Curology. I’m on my third month, and it has significantly improved my hyperpigmentation. I’m on trentinoin .05%, azelaic acid 5%, and niacinamide 4%. I use it in conjunction with vitamin c, aha’s, bha’s, Lipoic acid, Ferulic acid, Trichloroacetic acid (TCA). I also incorporate algae’s, sea salts, and a variety of other anti aging ingredients.
Lasers are WORTH IT. I just turned 50. I do a treatment once a year. Go to a dermatologist, NOT a medical spa to get real results. You won't regret it, I promise!
Siince a started to use Niacinamide from the Ordinary line from Deciem I stop having sun spots and even the od pimple on my T zone, Niacinamide will be my first line of defense from now on...love the make up.
I would also suggest niacinamide. My doctor suggested it for high cholesterol and when I researched it, I found out dermatologists recommend it for skin cancer! I take a supplement as well as using it topically!
Just a thought--Shelbey Wilson loves Daniel Sandler products and has quite a few videos on how she uses the blush. Always works for her. p.s. pretty eyes!
My husband has a strange sleeping habit kind of like yours...a couple years into our marriage I was awake in the night nursing a baby when I noticed my husband lying on his back with both arms sticking straight up into the air - like completely perpendicular to his body. How is that even possible?? 😂
I sympathize, we had snow too in Montreal 🥲 and I refused to close all of the windows and get our winter stuff out of the closet. I’m deep into denial 🙃
I use timeless vit c, ordinary lactic acid, timeless coq10, and sunscreen in am. PM I use Curology, peptides, and a moisturizer. This has been my routine for 2 years. No sun spots, no age spots, no laser - 50 years old in a couple of weeks💗
The murad dark spot corrector works super well for fading age spots for me and my sister. You can buy a small size first to see if it works for you. But warning apply it with a small brush just to the area that's affected because it will lighten the surrounding skin area too if you apply too much.
Over 40 here and have hyperpigmentation... I've been using prescription strength retinol the last 6months and the difference is amazing. Nothing else worked prior to that. In addition I have amped up my already amped up sunscreen game :)
Also 1 egg white , Tumeric powder, grated lemon peel and a dime size moisturizer( that will allow the Tumeric to not dye your face plus it’s all natural.
I’m 42 with perimenopausal cystic acne flare ups and the resulting hyperpigmentation. I started using a retinol night cream. It’s helps clear up the acne and pigmentation much faster. Wear it over your moisturizer. It can be drying.
Thanks for mentioning the Musely and the success your sis had because i've been very curious about it. Recently, like you, i'm noticing more sun-spots than i care to keep. thanks for a great vid!
I'm having a hard time transitioning to spring makeup, mostly because the foundations I have that don't rub off under masks are more matte and full coverage than the dewier foundations I like to wear in the spring. Same with cream cheek products--they rub off so much more easily than powder products under masks. So sometimes I feel like the lighter, springier looks I want to do are somewhat incongruous with my face products. That might be a fun full face tutorial--spring makeup that works with a mask!
Something I have loved for sun damage on my face has been the dr Dennis gross alpha beta peels they are pricey but I don’t use them near as often as they recommend. I use them every other day for a week and then use them once a week after that. And then daily is use the good molecules discoloration correcting serum which is very inexpensive and works on sun damage and hyperpigmentation like from acne. I can hardly see the sun damage anymore and I was a tan baby for a very long time!!! The sun damage was bad!!! And the Alpha Beta peels also help with wrinkles too.
The CYO foundation is my absolute favorite. I saw it in your thumbnail, and I was like “OMG DID THEY BRING IT BACK??” Then I saw it was still discontinued in the description 😭
I've done laser treatments before. After the first treatment I had a reduction in spots, broken capillaries, and fine lines. After the 3rd treatment my skin looked really perfected, like didn't need foundation at all! However, in the 8 years since my last laser treatment the spots, lines, veins, all came back to some degree even tho I've kept up with spf. I dont regret doing it but I should have another treatment soon to get the results back.
That eye look is fabulous for the warmer weather! I do try to use those lighter shades and always seem to end up looking the same day after day after day. I will try again tomorrow though!!
Mandy I have a wonderful product for hyperpigmentation especially sun spots. My daughter got me into it and I’ve been using for 3 months.....the box is only 39.99/ half off now from 79.00. Box is best you get 5 products is so beyond wonderful! It’s gentle as can be but very effective. Even skin hyperpigmentation Tumeric collection. Just thought it might help. I LOVE it so much!
If your skin care doesn’t work for hyper pigmentation, try the Murad Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum. I first tried when I got pregnancy mask with my son and have since reused and repurchased a few more times over the years and it works wonders. Definitely have to keep with the application, I would say use a fully bottle and you will see a difference. I just bought the Topicals Fade and excited to see if it works as well as the Murad as it is less expensive. Good luck 🍀
Pretty look. I threw an Olive & June nail polish in a target order recently based on your recommendation and I’m so impressed. I didn’t have time yesterday for the whole routine so I thought I’d try a single coat (Bold & Unshaken). For a matte lilac color, it looked really good with a single coat - not streaky at all. Will definitely pick up more and do the full routine to see how long it lasts when used properly! Thanks for the inspiration!
The best product for hyperpigmentation is the NIOD (from Deciem) Re Pigment serum. It is expensive, but you only need the 15 ml. because it is a spot treatment!
I have severe hyperpigmentation. My dad and his side all had it. I’ve done lasers a million times and it does help remove them but no matter how much sunscreen and hats I wear, they come back. I recommend lasers mixed with Retin-a and hydroquinone. Sadly it’s a very expensive problem to have.
For your hyperpigmentation, vitamin c( l’ascorbic acid only) and tretinoin(prescription)!are the best. You are in the states. Get a Curology subscription!
I did not get hyper pigmentation until I was in my mid 50's and have never been good about using sunscreen. I would be interested in learning more about the product you were talking about.
I thought I was the only spoolie snob. I tried the LA girl shady slim to replace my ABH brow wiz and thankfully kept the brow wiz as the spoolie on that one is so much better.
Hi Mandy. Have you tried Mad Hippie brand? I have light, dry skin, and I’m from Colorado. I used Olay for decades, then Estee Lauder for skin care, but nothing fussy. I had a couple of dark spots for years and years, and when I switched to cruelty free, I tried MH face cream and vit C serum. After maybe 6 months, I was shocked to see the spots fade! Now when I remove my makeup at night, I’m pleased with my 55yo skin. I love your channel! Thank you for your honest, realistic content.
FYI here in Denver laser work on skin pigmentation runs only a couple hundred bucks and the results are instant (spots scab and in only a couple days and the spots flake off).
I always struggle with hyperpigmentation from acne scars. I found the L'Oreal Vitamin C to be the most stable and effective version. I find some serums that are touted as Vitamin C do not have enough in them to actually do anything.
Beautiful look!!!! I’m so excited to see some trying new makeup. I’ve been loving the elf putty, tower 28 and saie blushes. I have a blush problem. Lol. I probably need an intervention.
Hi Mandy! Love your videos!!! I have sun spots as well and I’ve found lactic acid in combo with a retinol night oil have helped to really fade them! Check out the Sunday Riley combo of Good Genes and the Luna Sleeping oil. Hope it helps!
Recently purchased that Flower Beauty heatwave bronzer when I saw you use it. I'm in love!! Have you tried a LED face mask to help with melasma/acne scarring? They are a little pricey as well but may be an option before lasers. I use one regularly for anti aging and feel it helps and there are options with different light therapies.
I've had IPL treatments for sun damage. It's not exactly the same as laser, but an intense light at several frequencies at once. It definitely worked. I had excess melanin come up to the surface and peel off like a scab where sun spots were located. A year later, the spots are still gone or still lightened. I even lost some small red spots from my face.
Don’t do laser treatments yet because I’m sure you’ll have more spots to come. I too have been to numerous ballgames and no matter what I still got them. Buy yourself a new desk! Get laser later!!
I wish it was cold were I am but unfortunately we only have sun shine all year long I live in LA California and this weather depresses me is always the same boring sunny weather 😩
Hydroquinone is generally safe to use and can fade dark spots thus evening out skin appearance, but it shouldn’t be used for longer than about 3 months at a time because it can apparently cause something called ochronosis (spelling?) which actually darkens skin from small papules that are bluish. This is a rare side effect but if the aim is to get rid of dark spots take some long breaks in using the cream and wear a high SPF EVERY DAY with or without use. That’s from my dermatologist, also from some research.
I had really bad hyperpigmentation after my son was born. The ONLY thing that worked (and worked extremely well!) was the Obagi prescription level system. I had to go to a dermatologist to get it, but it was worth it. It’s actually cheaper than laser.
I'm 48, and I understand about the darker areas on my face...while I don't have hyperpigmentation spots, my dark circles and hollows around my eyes are definitely getting much more noticeable now. I use a color corrector and concealer but that only goes so far. I'm thinking about getting filler or some kind of cosmetic procedure to lessen the darkness and hollowness. Definitely nothing wrong with that if it makes you feel better about yourself. As far as other makeup...I tried that WNW Simma Brown eyeliner and am VERY impressed!! I was skeptical because I'm super oily and only one liner has been able to make it through my oils melting it off, and my watery eyes, which is the Cake pencil from KVD...until I tried the WNW. Thanks for recommending it! Saves me quite a bit of money. As far as Spring eyeshadow, it's been all about the one and done shadow look...all shimmers, mostly peach, mauves, and bronze. Happy Spring from Phoenix!🌵🌻🌴
Just discovered an amazing foundation combination ! 🤩🥳 FLOWER LIGHT ILLUSION + NARS NATURAL RADIANT LONGWEAR 👏🏻 it’s amazing ! Great coverage, natural, fresh, and long lasting 😆 LOVE LOVE LOVE 💗💕 Anyone tried it ? I have normal/combo skin - perfect 👌
This is a beautiful look and a fine video. Thank you for your recommendation of Wet n Wild's Walk on Eggshells eyeshadow palette. It is indeed very pretty. So far it seems to go on and stay on better with my concealer, versus the NYX eyeshadow primer. Nonetheless, I like it enough that I am going to buy the Petalette version. Cheers, Ardith
For overall hyperpigmentation/sunspots, many swear by yearly chemical peels! There are even at home versions. I know Lisa J did a UA-cam video on it last year…
I'm a redhead with very fair skin, 53yrs old, and have hyperpigmentation and some plain old freckles. My hyperpigmentation started showing up in my 40s. The thing that really works for me (I've tried everything1) is the Timeless 20% Vitamin C w/ Ferulic Acid because it is formulated correctly.... basically, in a way that it keeps the Vit C stable, and increases absorption by combining it with ferulic acid. Most Vitamin C serums are not formulated correctly, not stable, and therefore useless. If you get a properly formulated one, it works amazingly well on hyperpigmentation. Keep it refridgerated to prolong it's life.... if it turns pretty yellow, it's gone bad/oxidized. Light, heat and air are bad for Vit C. I put a week or two's worth in an 1oz opaque dropper bottle (available on Amazon} and keep it in a drawer, and the rest stays in the fridge. I did do lasers and they definitely do work, but they are expensive and if you go out in the sun, the spots return, so you need more lasers. Too much money for this kid! Even if you wear an SPF, some UV gets through. Btw, Target carries Timeless products now and the last time I checked, it was cheaper than the Timeless website, and delivery was available. Hope this helps! :o)
Nothing worked for me, but I did a BBL treatment and all the little sun spots on my cheeks cleared, but I really want my hyperpigmentation from acne gone. Hoping it helps with that in the next session. 😬
Then post laser use good skin care (medical grade) to maintain results. Honestly, for me it is the only thing that made a true difference. I think I did it for the first time at about 40.
Im approaching 60. Grew up in Miami in the sun all the time. I started using my IPL on them and they are flaking away. Its great plus works for hair removal.
You might think about seeing a dermatologist for the sun damage spots you mention and just a general body check. The dermatologist will map out any spots or moles that they can then monitor. What I thought was a sun spot was actually something more. Not to freak you out but just a note to be cautious and not self-diagnose.
Im so fair Im see-through...so when I get a red bump, it stands out like a 🛑. I turned 50 in February, and believe it or not, the only thing Ive seen that takes away the berries on me is tretinoin or retinol.
My zucchini did horribly last year, but it turns out it was pests getting it! Some sort of bug that attacks squash plants....a friend told me there are some options for killing the bugs that weren't supposed to be harmful to anything else so I need to look into that.
The Musely Spot Cream works for me but the cream has not been a consistent texture, like the ingredients aren't mixed well. I'm on my 4th bottle. Customer service is non-existent. It works though.
My dad has done laser treatments and it really does work. Although he got it done at taiwan while visiting my grandparents almost a decade ago i think so it was a lot cheaper.
I gave up on gardening, plants scream and die when I walk passed them. Thank goodness hubby is a great gardener. You look lovely.
2 suggestions for the spots you don't like. (I have shied away from laser, too). Then she uses one of those incredible Japanese brushes to powder. There is one video with a big blemish, but most of them show you how she does it. The second advice is from a 67 year old woman who has never been happier with her looks: Just don't worry about it. Takes a bit of trial and error to let it go, but for the first time in my life, since I turned 60, I look in the mirror and I really like what I see. Don't wait!

When you said "I would much rather spend that money on eyeshadow palettes" I felt that 😁
I've been so poorly today with my illness, what better way to cheer up and smile than watching a mandy video. Xxxxxx
What worked for me was the Farmacy honeyglow serum which surprised me!
Others may do this but you are the first person I have seen include your ears when doing your makeup. So impressed.

I’m 44yo, I’m a natural redhead. Last year I did 3 bbl treatments and it was AMAZING! Definitely worth the money in my opinion.
What is a bbl treatment?? I am so curious.... thanks
Yes I so wanna see a nice fresh spring look!! It’s freezing here in Windsor Canada we had snow yesterday 😳
I sympathize, we had snow too in Montreal 🥲 and I refused to close all of the windows and get our winter stuff out of the closet. I’m deep into denial 🙃
Same here in Alberta - yesterday 20 today -2 😫
Same in Fredericton!
Same in Strathroy, ON.😒
Same in Pennsylvania. Lots of wind too!
Bought luxie brushes because of how great you make them look! Got them today and I love them. I also live in UT, loving our weather! 💜💜💜
That Huda pallete is my favorite spring pallete. I took it back out for the warmer weather! 💕
Over 40 here and have hyperpigmentation... I've been using prescription strength retinol the last 6months and the difference is amazing. Nothing else worked prior to that. In addition I have amped up my already amped up sunscreen game :)

I’m too cheap for a laser, but I have an appointment to have my giant dark spot cryo-blasted off in a couple of weeks. Can’t wait for it to be gone!
I’ve been using my CYO foundation lately and boy it’s good. I love the eyes! So beautiful
Thanks for mentioning the Musely and the success your sis had because i've been very curious about it. Recently, like you, i'm noticing more sun-spots than i care to keep. thanks for a great vid!
Right now I’m really enjoying my Salt New York and my Thrive bronzer in Rhea and their blush in Rosie.
Always a pretty look when you are done. I have the eye palette you used here. Going to have to try these colors together 🙂. Thanks. Enjoy spring!!
The lasers work great and it is worth as I don't buy the expensive creams that don't do anything!

Wore Daniel Sandler’s Cherub today. Love it applied with the Luxie 522 tapered highlighter brush. Does a great job!
I appreciate you linking to your Olive & June nail color, but I also ALWAYS love your earrings. Would love to know where you find them.

The ordinarys vitamin C serum is AMAZING for fading hyperpigmentation
Such a beautiful, soft look!
I just picked up the same huda palette for this spring, thank you.

love the look! so pinky and pretty
Pampered Wolf & Graceful Beauty have the best videos on how to get rid of Hyperpigmentation

Undereye filler was the best cosmetic thing I've done. It's 3.5 yrs later and still don't need a top up. Great investment, in my humble opinion.
Do you have the Huda Mercury retrograde palette? That one says spring to me. Would love to see you do looks with that if you have it.
always love your videos
Beautiful look again.
Very good
Nothing worked for me, but I did a BBL treatment and all the little sun spots on my cheeks cleared, but I really want my hyperpigmentation from acne gone. Hoping it helps with that in the next session. 😬
Great video! Thank you! IPL has really helped lighten my sun spots. Vitamin C for maintenance.
Then post laser use good skin care (medical grade) to maintain results. Honestly, for me it is the only thing that made a true difference. I think I did it for the first time at about 40.
Will you share the name of the spot corrector your sister is having success with? Thanks.
Perfection!
Loved your eyes!
I have the no problem primer and I guess I have too oily skin but a few hours after my pores are huge and my makeup looks like it's gone
Not gonna lie, I just tried putting my hand on my face like that and you know..it’s pretty comfortable
Im approaching 60. Grew up in Miami in the sun all the time. I started using my IPL on them and they are flaking away. Its great plus works for hair removal.
Hi, sorry if I missed it...where did you get your Rephr set? Thx!
Oh girlfriend, I have totally given up on zucchini lol, and basil. How do you fail at basil?
Muito bom

I found laser did work but the minute i got some sun exposure they came back.
My dad has done laser treatments and it really does work. Although he got it done at taiwan while visiting my grandparents almost a decade ago i think so it was a lot cheaper.
