My parents were born in New Haven CT, where this pie was invented by Frank Pepe of Pepe's on Wooster St. almost 100 years ago. I read he was allergic to tomatoes and made a pie he could love. Anyway, I was raised on New Haven "abeets," and all subsequent pizza has been measured against that standard. Yes, I'm a pizza snob. :-) Love your video.

Dambit! THAT rekindled memories of the best 2 pizzas I ever had, different versions of white clam from late 80's, early 90's. 1 in CT and 1 in (of all places) Charleston SC. The SC version had way more cheese, but was still second best!

Having lived in Michigan my whole life, I guess it makes sense that I've never heard of putting clams on a pizza. It looks awesome. I wonder how it would go with a side of melted butter for an occasional dip!?!

one tip add milk and honey to the dough instead watter on yeast part to raise and leave it over night u will be thanking me never buying pizza again
Great looking pizza guys wish I was there to sample that !!! Damn my that’s my favorite pizza and living about 15 miles north of New Haven, Ct with some of the best pizza places in the states ( look it up) anyways Pepe’s Pizza which is world famous for their pizzas. Well Frank Pepe owner and founder was Allergic to tomatoes so he make a white clam pizza which is outstanding with a thin crust wood, fired ovens. Your pizza looked like a Pepe’s and no doubt tasted good. If you ever up this way check Pepe’s out. Thanks again guys now I’m hungry for a white clam pizza with some lemon wedges and cold beer on the side. OH YHEA !!!

Doughpolice reportin in: less yeast, half a package is enough. work that dough much longer. like 10-20 minutes. and use cold water. just put it all together, no fancy waiting, just water, sugar, yeast, salt, flour and a bit of oil and work that thing until its just like stretch armstrong. give it a try
Instead of the parsley try using chopped green onions.

In Connecticut you can get a class casino pizza which is bacon, garlic and clams of course.. choice of either white or red sauce... need to make this now thank you sirs for bringing me back
