2:06:45 For anyone watching this, you do not have to get that energy tank using this method. I could not get the shinespark jump to work, so you can just use the speed boost to get into the room, and then activate the floor locks with your beam and bombs, and then speed boost through the barrier next to the energy tank.
I played this game probably 15+ years ago after it had just came out. I was a NES and SNES fanboy but never played Metroid thus far (this was my first Metroid Game). It took me quite a while to complete the storyline and those SA-X encounters made my heart race and palms sweat like nothing before but man oh man was it worth the effort! I never 100% finished it when it comes to gathering all the items but watching your video I realised how smooth, enjoyable and at times difficult this amazing game was. Thanks for uploading!
It’s crazy how backwards it is getting the items in Fusion compared to Zero Mission. You couldn't even get the gravity suit, plasma beam and space jump (all incompatible items with the varia suit) early in the game until after beating the chozo boss nor the power bomb upgrade after making your way through the space pirate mother ship to Mecha Ridley. I do like how instead of going around to different Chozo statues for collectibles all you have to do is beat the boss to get the suit upgrades.
What made this game scarier at the end was I knew the computer was basically just a super computer to deliver commands from the HQ. And towards the end it seemed to have a different agenda aligned with the HQ. What made it creepy was it went from a ruthless heartless machine to only give and follow orders, im not sure what happened even to this day after playing it hundreds of times over and over again, why the computer suddenly gained almost Adam-like consciousness. I was thinking something like maybe his spirit came to influence the computer based on how Samus interacted with the computer, and how she would have Adam in mind. Pretty crazy, still to this day I’m not sure why it went heartless psycho to the leader she once knew?
i'm pretty sure his mind was uploaded to a computer and that's why. hearing samus accidentally call him adam suddenly made him realize who he was and what he was doing.
I was in the 4th grade when this came out for the GBA. That same week I got suspended for a week. My mom said I wasn't allowed to play. But my older brother would let me play when mom wasn't around. I recall playing all week long. That dang spider boss was hard to kill. Good times.
15:15 it was at that moment, when this game came out, thousands of people both young and old shat their pants at the new horror they would have to either evade or fight.
It's funny looking back now how many times i killed the final boss SA-X, at first he was incredily hard and i thought he was an OP boss, but then later i found a way to utlilize the constant ball jumping with the electric barrier jutsu thing, idk its been awhile, and i was basically able to syphon his hp and do damage and be really defensive at the same time. I think. idk im high asf. cheers!
I remember discovering a minor glitch in the final SA-X fight where you can trap it under the stairs with a well timed crouching angled charge shot. It gets hit, runs back, and you rinse and repeat!
Can't believe Serris only needed two charge beam hits to be knocked into his Core-X form. -_- Spent MONTHS when I first played it in trying to beat the bastard, same with Nightmare.
I just finished it for the first time, after 22 years. Only found 50% items and it took a collective 6 and a half hours but , I don't care. It made me happy. Great game!
1:39:14 quick tip for this missile puzzle: Get the deffusion missiles, charge them and blow them up here. They blow missile block, it’s easier than….whatever he’s doing
@@Ledeaven JEEESUS no, buddy. That's quite hard to get, It's not a "first try" thing. But after around 1:39:47 you can see them getting The Defusion Missiles. He did a thing at 1:39:14 to break them which were just a passage for other sector. And if you want to break those blocks, you don't NEED to do it like him. You just gotta grab the next missiles
Yeah, I Absolutely Agree. SA-X (Monstrous Version of Samus Aran) was definitely and totally Super Scary, Creepy, Menacing, Horrific, Terrifying and Grotesque!
I am wondering after watching walkthroughs of both super metriod and metriod fusion. Is metriod fusion easier than super metriod and which is more fun to play?
When I saw the part of the SA-X reveal and how they speculated that it used a power bomb to escape quarantine, I imagined the scene like this: In the dark room of Quarantine, inside a crate, the X infested pieces of Samus's Power suit were merging together, and in the darkest black corner of that crate, a neo outline of the iconic Morph Ball glows in the dark, and familiar ticking sound of a power bomb echoes from inside, right before the chaos erupts.
5 months late here I'm assuming you figured it out but if not, it's simple. When speed boost activates simply hold the direction in which you're running and jump, don't just jump and let go of left or right, that'll trigger a shinespark. Never try touching the Dpad up while doing so. Just run and jump. Sorry if I'm being redundant or not phrasing it well.
While I personally call Super Metroid my favorite game in the series (to be fair, it’s the first one I ever played), this one is my #2. I love the challenges, the lore, and the absolute fear factor it brings up (only SA-X and Mr. X can make the sound of footsteps both nerve-shredding and bowel-loosening). And some of the boss battles are a serious test, especially for anyone attempting a No Damage run. I haven’t played Dread yet (no Switch), but it would probably be #3 on my list, if only because it follows THIS.
I don’t have a great deal of nostalgia for the 2D Metroids. I didn’t play any of them properly until after the Prime Trilogy. Having played 1, Super, Fusion and Dread since? Dread is head and shoulders above for me.
Who in there right mind would attempt a no damage run or even have the time for it? I never understood no damage runs. There’s no trophy for it. Just self ego.

This is my favourite GBA game, alongside Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. It's up there as one of the best Metroid games alongside Dread, Super, and Prime.
Well designed but too linear through. You can't backtrack at some point until you keep communicating with "Adam" ,obtain some power up first then you're free to explore in sometime
It's called a shinespark. You have to activate the speed booster and then crouch to hold the charge. From there, you have to quickly navigate to where you want to activate the shine spark and then press the jump button while not holding any direction. Then, during the brief animation where samus levitates slightly and is totally still, you have to hit your desired direction on the dpad

This was the first metroid game i played, me and my pops shared a blue GB SP and would take turns progressing in the story. Recently got a modded ps vita that has a GB emulator and in almost done beating this game on my own. Obviously with some help from the walkthrough 😅

Not just any charge beam. It has to include the swirling flare that adds more damage to the beam but it has to be at point blank

I'm pretty Shure you hold down and left on the d-pad. that's how you do it in zero mission anyways
You had to press down to hold position then press in the direction you want to ram through.

Press down to harness it. It’s kinda tricky then jump and click your direction buddy

why your missiles oneshot the enemies? To me takes 2 or 3 missiles to kill the crabs and other ones that you instead oneshot.
