- I Built ITALY Out Of LEGO!
I visited Venice, Pisa & Rome, building landmarks, vehicles and Italian icons out of LEGO, including the Venice Skyline, Venetian Houses, Vitruvian Man, Leaning Tower of Pisa, a Pizzeria, a Fiat 500, a Ferrari, a Roman Chariot, a Vespa, Mario, Pinocchio, the Trevi Fountain, Vatican City, a Cat Sanctuary, and of course the Colosseum, one of the biggest LEGO sets ever made!
the creativity here is 🤯🤯

As an italian, I really appreciate this video! Really cool idea and I'm glad you choose this country
Between his humour, LEGO obsession, love for cats, incredible content and British accent... Chris you are unmatched

Thank you!
@@HalfAsleepChris it's crazy to think how much this series must cost, flying, buses, trains, the sets themselves. you have alot of dedication
Agreed
Also his songs

I was born in Italy and a huge fan of Lego, super cool to see the country in a mini scale. Buying all the legos was probably more expensive than the trip though lol

Ms. Valerie is legit and the methods work like magic. I keep winning every week with his new strategy
Positive comments are all I have read and heard about this lady Valerie for a while now. In Bitcoin investing, the determination to take risks is one of the main factors required because it takes a brave heart to make money these days.
Wait a second dose this. Means I can also get in her as well 🤔🥺

I’m in awe at the time and effort put into the series and the bravery to build in public 😂
Thanks a lot! The public stuff isn’t too bad, I mostly do it very early in the morning, but still a lot of people come to ask what I’m doing haha
OMG Generic stud im a HUGE fan of your content!

I am so jealous that you get to do this Chris, flying around to different countries and building Lego sets of the most iconic landmarks in the world, that being said, I don't know if my social anxiety would let me build Lego sets in public. I'd definitely have to either build a micro set or "Build in the Bag". This video was so satisfying to watch, and I can't begin to imagine how much work each montage takes. Absolutely incredible work Chris.
Thanks a lot! The bigger ones I usually build in hotels with views, but then do get lots of weird looks and people stopping to talk when I film them at the landmarks. I do it at 6 or 7 am to minimised this :)
@@HalfAsleepChris That makes a lot of sense, visiting the more public locations at a certain hour when you know they'll be less busy

As an Italian i am very happy that you have done this!🇮🇹
The [ribbits in Italian] really tickled me 😂 6:43
Italian themed sets that I would love to see in Lego...
1. Three Mini Coopers driving through a shopping centre.
2. Two British cavemen being taken to an auction house ran by Markius and Spencus.
3. A British spy driving a gondola/hovercraft driving through Venice while being watched by a double taking pigeon.
Ok I get the first one- Italian Job obviously (the og not the remake aka the best one) and I get the third- Roger Moore Bond, think it was Moonraker wasn’t it because I re her it had Jaws in it and it definitely wasn’t TSWLM. But what’s the other one referring too?
@@arghjayem the second one is a reference to Carry on Cleo

I truly love this LEGO Travel Series... 😀
I love your content and creativity! Great job!
Can't wait for Chris to go to Denmark and build at LEGO HQ. Also, love the field notes, amazing to see how much works goes into each video!
I have to agree with you that the Colosseum is an extraordinarily tedious build. Unfortunately, I think the Eiffel Tower is a close second.
I can't believe the lengths you must have gone to getting those sets. The Venetian Houses are a limited-edition Bricklink set!
Now that you've done London, Paris, and Rome, the next obvious location with a lot of sets is New York. Let me know if you need any of the older NYC landmarks; I've got a good collection.
Hello, Chris! Love the cats on your channel!😍
I am building the Colosseum while watching this.
The excitement when a new video is released before my sons bedtime, we lay in bed and watch it together. It’s a huge part of Dad and son bonding time for us.
Thanks again for an amazing video and keeping us constantly entertained. Hats off to you!
7:35 Can we just appreciate that this song is fully in stereo?

Hi Chris! Congratulations on the amazing trip I hoped you had an amazing time I was wondering because Italy is so much like Greece I was wondering if you can do Greece whenever you can! 🇬🇷🏛️
Please do Mallorca, Spain next! I’m going to go there soon!
I'm from italy and all I can say is... GREAT JOB! These sets are beautiful!
INCREDIBLE! I have always wanted to visit Italy! I’m glad you did :).
Everything ties so well! The Fiat, Vespa, and Ferrari 458 are really well done! And don’t forget the monuments! It’s absolutely gorgeous!
Now that’s dedication- building a car inside a sweltering car during a heat wave!
I do wonder when you do take pictures of the lego sets next to the place, do you ever get compliments from people who walk past by saying how great it is how the effort you put into it? You should really get compliments if you ask me cause your work and dedication to these Lego sets are extraordinary 😁
Haha yes, especially the big ones. If I'm there filming for half and hour, usually 10 different people will come and ask what I'm doing and have a chat, everyone has been really friendly!
@@HalfAsleepChrisI’m glad your work is very good and well, I’d take a picture with you if I would have the chance 😁

Where's the next place you're going to build? I'm loving this series! My personal suggestions: Germany (featuring the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, and the Zepplin), Denmark (where LEGOS came from! Is there anything more fitting?), or Romania (the birthplace of Dracula and home to Vlad the Impaler).
Props to Chris to go back in time to finish the lego in 1972
We need to see lego sponsor Chris, he could build even bigger sets and he wouldn’t have to spend so much money on it! That said, respect for all the time, effort, and money you put into videos! Everyone appreciates it!
Edit: What do you do with the Lego set after it’s built? Do you have to break it down again and put it back in the box? If not, how do you transport fully built Lego sets?
You are the best UA-cam ever! I hope you make many more videos. This is Roberto from Dallas, TX.😀😄😝😄
I never knew just how versatile lego sets were!
Can we appreciate how much work Chris puts into his videos and his videos comfort me alot
I just love your videos, and I want you to visit Vietnam in your next video, mostly in Hue, Nha Trang or Ha Noi, even though I know there are no Lego sets about Vietnam. But you will LOVE the natural view and it’s natural wonders. Looking forward for your next video ❤❤❤
I live across the world from Chris and I really want to meet him but I didnt realise that I was very close to him. Your videos are really entertaining and I can't stop watching them!
Whew! I was worried there wouldn't be a frog!🐸 Seriously, thanks for another set of awesome builds Chris!❤
I cannot believe how much effort this guy puts just for our entertainment. This is pure dedication

I want a Half-Asleep Chris album, all the songs from the episodes, the soundtracks, it would be a masterpiece!
1:20 soooo… satisfying……. 🤤
This series of going to places and building lego versions of it makes me jealous. Respect for the price of flying around the world and buying lego for our simple entertainment.

i respect you. it takes courage to build lego sets on planes and buildings were people look at you like "He's an adult building lego?!"
Awesome travel series on the planet
This is my new favorite series on youtube right now!
3:58 you should just ROME around until you find it
😐
Rome Puns: ½
8:14 “FIELD NOTES: Venice was filmed separately in April, and actually the very first thing I filmed for the travel series as a whole. Pisa & Rome were filmed in mid-late July, during the ‘Settimana Infernale’ heatwave. It was exceptionally hot.
With London and Paris, I made multiple trips to each city, enabling me to edit at home and then refilm any gaps or additional things that came up. I really struggled by only having one trip to Rome however, and therefore had to cheat, and green-screen a few minor things:
- The opening shot of my hand holding the box, and the 4 boxes after the theme song.
- The shot of Michelangelo, as the minifigure didn’t arrive in time.
- The shot of me dressed as a Roman commander. In previous videos, I’ve had UA-camr friends dress up for the cameos, but since I don’t know anyone in Italy, planned on paying a street performer to do it. On trips to Rome in 2019 and earlier, there were countless people dressed lip as gladiators / soldiers / commanders, charging tourists for photos, but this time there were none whatsoever. It turns out they’ve been canned, so I had to film the cameo myself, sadly back at home using a green-screen.
The Fiat was rented from ‘Rome for You’ and the Vespa tour by ‘Vespa Tour in Rome’.
This is **not** sponsored, I paid for everything.
The LEGO travel series will return soon. I have big plans…”

Ah, A BFDI viewer!!
My Dad always loved little Fiats and owned many. Apparently during the 1960s Italian fuel costs were some of the highest in Europe, so Fiat always made very small cars with little engines which were very cheap to run and had excellent fuel economy. He has owned a 500 like the one in this video so I sent him the video; he will love it. He tells me a story often about how in the 1980s his Fiat 500 would often snap clutch cables so he would always keep a spare one in the boot and was a whiz at replacing them in about 10 minutes LOL.
