Sniper could be said to be one of the worst back then because most of the sniper weapons that is below orange in rarity isn't rly good.
But now not anymore ever since serenity and the kinetic energy buff appearance

If you play a character with low sheilds or one without defense it can be easy to find yourself in a senario where you only are doing 10 20 or 0 damage because you took some damage in the room. However, if you play smart fast and right you will easily clear most rooms

I personally think hero bow with increased shotgun bullet buff is stronger against bosses

If you combine that with the passive that gives you extra crit damage and stun after you move for a while, you basically win. The bosses can't even move and the damage they take is just ridiculous.

I reached 100 in matrix for the first time with Serenity, that thing hurt like a truck with Paladin. With all kinds of buffs I remember dealing over 400 dmg per shot and with bullet bounce, 50% extra bullet chance and penetration I'd clear rooms very easily and bosses were not that problematic either.

Doing some maths, serenity does like 20 dmg per 1 point of energy. I dont think there is a weapon with THAT much damage

No its just 10 dmg per one armor and if full armor its a guaranteed critical hit.

It does 10 damage based on your armor
Like: 1 point of armor = 10 damage
2points = 20
And with crits it doubles the damage
ow imagine using it with paladin with the 2 armor buffs
That's 12 armor points
(8+4) Armor points = 12 points
12 points = 120 damage, 240 with crits
Now pair it with kinetic buff, and you are doing stun + 240 damage PER HIT
