    Very in-depth. Thank you. I prefer the 50 for casting and for 90% of the time. However, for long line trolling I like the 60. Just that bit extra line capacity to get the baits away from the boat. My buddy also prefered the 60 for his boat and now owns 6.

      You are right, the 60 has that extra line capacity and I don't believe that a floating spool vs fixed spool is that big of an issue in casting performance. I really like the 6 pin brake over a 2 pin brake, but again, that's personal preference. I think both have a place in my rod box.

    AFAIK, the Chaos 40 and 50 reels are the only ones out of all the Asian built round casting reels that have spool bearings, just like the Abu C3 reels, only at 1/3 the cost. They're the best value for round bait casters and modding them for casting distance (static mag brakes and no level wind) is easy.

    Great video. I have a dozen of the chaos 50 and love them. I also have four of the 60 chaos 60. But I don’t like them as much. I tried the last king out and hated them from day one. They just felt cheap to me.

    I’ve had 2 of the chaos 50 for almost a year now, just recently the thumb bar release gets stuck and have to pop it back up after each cast. Probably just needs a cleaning, other than that great reels at a great price.

    What is everyone thoughts on running the old school penn jigmaster reels?

    The new Kastking reels are better quality than the older model.

      I got a couple of their rods recently and the workmanship was terrible. I know they're budget stuff, but I don't trust their reels at all.

    how do you deactivate the pins on the 6 pin setup for more casting distance?

    • @fishingthemidsouth
      @fishingthemidsouth  11 місяців тому

      The chaos xs50 doesn't have a way of locking them in the deactivated position. You have to use a little screwdriver or something to push them off the end of the pin it rides on.

    Great vid Big Mike,would the 60 be around the same size as an ABU 7000 ?

    • @fishingthemidsouth
      @fishingthemidsouth  3 роки тому +1

      The line capacity should be similar. I only own a couple of abu's that are 5600 size, so I can't compare the reel to a 7000, but the line capacity should be similar in the chaos xs 60 and the 7000 abu.

      @@fishingthemidsouth Hi again Big mike,I have used ABUs for years and also have a chaos 50 xs.I think piscifun has gone down the path of trying to emulate them to a point.The xs 50 has features of the 6500 c4 with 6 pins and a free floating spool plus thumb bar ,whereas the 60 has the same setup of a fixed spool with the bearings in the frame, push button release as the ABU 7000.Difference being the 7000 has 4 pins.The fact the 50 has 6 pins plus free floating spool tells one it is designed faster maybe more suited ,along with being a baitfishing reel it can be doubled up to lure fishing with different weights,whereas the 60 with fixed spindle , bigger line capacity and 2 frame bearings is more aimed at perhaps soaking baits from the surf or boat.
      I think we will find the 60 still a great casting reel for heavier weights and baits, but not as versatile as the 60 with its greater scope of more brake blocks and free floating spool.
      Cheers

    Uhm……it doesn’t make sense the independent spool on the 50. How does the spool tension work then?

    • @fishingthemidsouth
      @fishingthemidsouth  11 місяців тому +1

      The small gear on the baitclicker side is pushed up against the spool bearing, which creates friction as the spool tension knob is turned.

    What you think of the gear being plastic?

    • @fishingthemidsouth
      @fishingthemidsouth  11 місяців тому

      I don't have an issue with the baitclicker and worm gear being plastic. I won't lose a fish if one of those goes out. For the gears that make the spool move, I would be much more concerned.

    the chaos 50 and 60 are good quality reels not as good as the abus but not far behind them
