People complained the one thing that grampa did back in his day was "too much like halo" also the summons made alot of folk mad. So they just went a unique route thinking classic deathmatch wasn't what would be welcomed with eternal
See, they should have put PvP in Doom Eternal and just amped it up from here. They had a great start. They should have left the player vs monster gamemode as a separate gametype and made PvP the main focus. The only disappointing part about Eternal, otherwise both games are fantastic

Might not be a perfect multiplayer but still way better than DOOM Eternal. It has more content compared to it, which is kinda sad because all the other cool gamemodes would make Eternal incredible
@@Knuxisonyoutube i tried this recently on an entire playthrough, it does break the game. The demons die too quickly since spawns occur maybe one by one unlike in eternal ; heavies spawn at the same time along with infinitely spawning fodders
DOOM's multiplayer is still stylish and cool as of today. It's a shame that this game was underrated and not popularized.

There is a mod for it in the works, unfortunately as all mods go it’s pc only.
