I don't think the number of good hydro 5-stars has anything to do with whether or not you'd play mono hydro. You'd see mono pyro or mono cryo played more often than mono hydro, but nobody talks about those teams monopolizing their elements. You can always run different elements on the other side. There are more than enough viable archetypes these days to do so. The ACTUAL factor re: mono hydro is that with hydro access to so many good reactions, you could just convert 1 or 2 slots on the team and end up stronger, so why play mono hydro?
I mean it depends on the account investment. The thing is, if you're a newer account with only hydro 5*s as your only 5*s, you would want to spread them to other teams. Day1 accounts are way way less than 10% of the playerbase. I skipped all of the 2.X patches and still have more pulls logged than like 86% of players in Genshin Wizard

My alt account doesn't have any pyro or cryo teams right now so I often end up playing kokomi mono hydro alongside some purple or green quicken team based on the opponents. The only thing I gain by breaking up hydro is quickbloom. It's been very reliable in blowing up annoying bosses too.

I do like to play an expensive but good monohydro team with Kazuha, Yelan, Furina and Kokomi, its pretty good and i think is also very fun to play all that little blue numbers on the screen
Pre furina , id have agreed that XQ was the overall strongest hydro , but since she has been here for a while and she buffs yelan the way she does, only among hydro supports , outside of availability issues, there is no world where xq is higher than 3rd place in 2024.
Let him cope. I can maybe understand XQ above yelan in solo Hdyro stuff where you like the defensive utility but furina has replaced xq in every team i play. And if I want Hdyro on my weaker side i use him or yelan if she isnt in furinas team already so yeah third place

I play xingqui more simply bc i play comp where hydro application matters a bit more (read: anything dendro related), like my favorite domain team rn is nahida/xq/kirara/nilou. Frontloading app and wiping a whole wave with 1 xq skill is super satisfying. I still use furina a lot in abyss and yelan in overworld sometimes. If anything furina release just made me not use yelan much lol.
I just got Kazuha and Barbara C6 and my Yelan is C2 R1 so I started playing Yelan, Barbara, Furina, and Kazuha just for fun Everything MELTS. Yelan's E does ~140K crit

It's because Abyss rewards are binary. You either make the time or you don't. And if that's the case, well, comfort (aka lower stress, more brain-dead, consistent performance) wins out over a faster clear for most players. And he's also pretty universal, due to his geo reactions not messing other reactions up much and the all resist debuff. You see this in play with Neuv being "the best DPS" as well. There are others that outdamage him, but no others that do the damage he does, across the variety of situations he does, while also having the survivability he has.

I rlly like mono hydro like its very comfortable and furina yelan and xinqui deal a lot of dmg themselves and kokomi adds a pretty good amount also. My only problem its that my other team is a navia one so i kinda suck in aoe content. And no I don’t have kazuha and i do have nilou but since nahida eluded me 3 times each time w more than 12k primos im just pissed atp i just wanted everyone to hold hands 😭😭

I don't think Dori's C6 is comparable to Kokomi given their different elements and damage, but yes I agree that C6 Dori is a good character. I think people are just very dismissive of her and don't consider her at all. There's also the fact that unlike Faruzan, what C6 Dori provides isn't super unique so she doesn't stand out as much as Faruzan does.
@lily-_- at c6 i do think that Dori does a solid amount of damage. And i think that combining the role of healer and driver is something pretty unique that really shouldn't br overlooked

Vape is (as far as I know) Neuvillettes strongest team if we only look at Neuvillettes personal damage. Though it isn't his best team overall. The team damage is on the lower side compared to Furina teams. And it can be inconsistent. And if one enemies has a specific aura (electro shield, sefl Dendro application etc.) the difference between Vape Neuvillette and Furina + Neuvillette personal damage gets much smaller too while Furina + Neuvillette keeps the team damage advantage.
For the Dendro unit Nahdia is really wanted as her Dendro is consistent, has AoE and is fast. DendroMC is okayish in Speer but a bit Pyro and boom. Yaoyaos application is meh. And same applies to most other Dendros too

Hydro has so many good reactions, there’s no reason to play monohydro because introducing any non-Geo/Anemo element makes it better. It’s not like Pyro or Cryo which are centralized on just Vape and Freeze.
Xiangling's black hole is too tough to fill man I run off field xl with 245%er and I still have to run r5 fav on field to barely get through sometimes. Sometimes even that isn't enough man

Completely unrelated but... Hu tao/xianyun/furina/zhongli or yelan team is so so so much better than hu tao/yelan/xingqiu/zhongli. Not even close. And you don't need c1 hu tao. And when there is an enemy with low hp, you don't need to use your xingqiu or yelan ult for your hu tao to do enough damage to kill it, furina can enable vape with her skill and there is no more "lack energy for next chamber or clear this chamber slower"
Maybe it's because of sac sword but "lack energy for next chamber" sounds alien to my experience with hydro units next to XQ, whether a Hutao team or a Koko team.
Xiangling isn't Bennett locked because Sukokomon exists also Sukokomon is more practical than you'd think because the first and last thirds of your rotation are batterying phases. You have zero worries about saving Bursts for next chambers
Mono hydro sounds cope with putting the good hydro units together than anywhere else but at the same time it's not because the hydro units are that good, mono cryo is more cope because of the reliance on Shenhe, as she doesn't get a rerun for 10 patches, what in the world happened to cryo?
Mono cryo is basically ok team if you have shenhe (like mono pyro w/o lyney) but in reality it's a team for whales, with c6 shenhe it becomes one of the best teams in the game
@@Zorlexon is freeze really that OP, it only looks OP because of Ayaka being highly invested with Shenhe. Plus Shenhe being a red flag on her release to be the luxurious be all and all cryo support outright buffs cryo damage through her skill which leaves little room of any 5-star cryo supports

Hydro as the most AND the best 5*. Like, the weakest is Ayato and he's still a good dps and way better than characters like Klee, Yoimiya, Cyno, Itto and with the way they fucked up freeze even than Ayaka sometimes

Kokomi, XQ, Yelan and Furina team has been super comfortable in my experience, in the past I used Kazuha instead of Furina in that team.

I've been running Kokomi, Yelan, Kazuha, Furina and it's hilarious how powerful the team is and steamrolls through abyss given how brain dead it is to play, and how easy it is for survivability.

Hydro has so many good reactions, there’s no reason to play monohydro because introducing any non-Geo/Anemo element makes it better.
It’s not like Pyro or Cryo which are centralized on just Vape and Freeze.

2 teams for abyss:
Kokomi, xingqiu, yelan, furina
Nuevillette, mona, childe, ayato
(You might need higher Investment on the second team tho)
Move ayato to the first team to become driver then move xingqiu to the 2nd team cuz neu need stagger res
Xiangling's black hole is too tough to fill man I run off field xl with 245%er and I still have to run r5 fav on field to barely get through sometimes. Sometimes even that isn't enough man

Hu tao/xianyun/furina/zhongli or yelan team is so so so much better than hu tao/yelan/xingqiu/zhongli. Not even close. And you don't need c1 hu tao. And when there is an enemy with low hp, you don't need to use your xingqiu or yelan ult for your hu tao to do enough damage to kill it, furina can enable vape with her skill and there is no more "lack energy for next chamber or clear this chamber slower"
Maybe it's because of sac sword but "lack energy for next chamber" sounds alien to my experience with hydro units next to XQ, whether a Hutao team or a Koko team.
Xiangling isn't Bennett locked because Sukokomon exists
also Sukokomon is more practical than you'd think because the first and last thirds of your rotation are batterying phases. You have zero worries about saving Bursts for next chambers

Mono hydro sounds cope with putting the good hydro units together than anywhere else but at the same time it's not because the hydro units are that good, mono cryo is more cope because of the reliance on Shenhe, as she doesn't get a rerun for 10 patches, what in the world happened to cryo?
It got the Venti treatment, too strong so they nerfed it and made it content dependent
Mono cryo is basically ok team if you have shenhe (like mono pyro w/o lyney) but in reality it's a team for whales, with c6 shenhe it becomes one of the best teams in the game
Yeah, replace any of the hyro units with a pyro one and the damage skyrockets

Plus Shenhe being a red flag on her release to be the luxurious be all and all cryo support outright buffs cryo damage through her skill which leaves little room of any 5-star cryo supports

From cals mono hydro with kokomi furina outdps most of double hydro teams with pyro dps, except hutao and arle ofc, and even worse variants with like ayato or dps nilou driver are competitive with double hydro non plunge diluc\yanfei\vape klee\yoimiya
not worth it cuz its boring asf, esp when none of the hydro units does any combos either

@@YungXin besides using characters you may prefer (no offense Itto I just like on-fielding Kokomi more) it's also good for shield breaking sides with a lot of a singular element (like pyro lectors)
but yeah besides that there's not too many differences lol so fair enough

Hydro as the most AND the best 5*. Like, the weakest is Ayato and he's still a good dps and way better than characters like Klee, Yoimiya, Cyno, Itto and with the way they fucked up freeze even than Ayaka sometimes
He also recognised that hydro has both supports and on fielders that are strong in their own right

Ratio is greater on Dendro considering even Baizhu is good, but Hydro just has more.

Mono Hydro is never worth it. Replace one of the Hydros (Xingqiu) with Kazuha for infinitely better results.
That’s the most common “mono hydro” team actually. Kazuha doesn’t make it not mono.
Mono mostly just means that the extreme majority of damage is hydro. So having an anemo support in it, is pretty usual.
