- The "Pistols of the Warlords" Kickstarter barrels on!
www.kickstarte...
We have broken through three MORE stretch goals this afternoon - custom endpapers, an additional short revolver section, and Ex Libris labels included free with every book. Thanks for the overwhelming interest!
Next up, we have a profile of the Dogmeat General an an extra section on the Shanghai Municipal Police on the horizon...
I expect that after a few more days of passing stretch goals, a Chinese mystery pistol will be included with every book.
🤠👍
@@GayActorMichael_Douglas Okay, but I still want a complete book that I can read!
I hope I get a BROWNINGS BROWNINGS BROWNINGS Mauser example.
Can I get mine in a cheap caliber, oh wait nevermind
build your own chinese mystery pistol, first issue: The Trigger, only 1.99$
Ian needs to understand that people love him 🤗💯
but he do tho
I’d say Ian delivers the goods day after day, time after time and that builds trust!
@@williamlloyd3769 Ian has been running Forgotten Weapons for years, so we already knows what to expect. Not surprised at all on this.
For Ian's third book, "The Abominable Arms of Elbonia", the stretch goals will eventually include a run of 8 billion copies so everyone on the planet can have one.
It will be printed in very small type on the backs of old AOL disks.
Must include note on rear cover: Not for sale in the Republic of Elbonia.
A ripe roaring tail of betrayal, revenge, redemption, internal political struggle and Ian’s place in the centre of the maelstrom of unsuitable Weapons Platforms and Cartridges to the IT and world mud hub of Elbonia.
My God...... I want this book and the Graphic Novel !
I know that "The Abominable Arms of Elbonia," is a joke title, but Ian fucking make it happen.
Ian: We made sure to have enough stretch goals to prevent blowing through them in one day.
Ian's Supporters: ARE YOU CHALLENGING ME?!
I have seen Ian this excited since he was at the French national armory
Definitely not missing an opportunity to pledge to your Kickstart again! Regret not getting in on the Chassepot book early, but am super excited for this one. Keep up the amazing work, Ian.
Awesome, thank you!
@@ForgottenWeapons when will payment be taken?
At the end of the Kickstarter; June 19th or thereabouts.
@@ForgottenWeapons Thanks!!
Have you seen the Kickstarter book project on the 345th Soviet Airborne Regiment in Afghanistan? Looks interesting... might be cool guide for you and Karl for the next Red Oktober event
By the time this video was posted, it was out of date, and the "Dogmeat General" stretch goal had been reached. This is moving... rapidly.
Shiny!!
Absolute Mad Lads
By the time you I read this comment, it became outdated, we ran through 3 more stretch goals
Moment I heard the words "Dogmeat general" I let out a victory screech
I love this comment
If you don't watch The Great War go look up his poetry.

They tell me to do that..."

I'm astounded at how fast this was funded! Hell yeah. Can't afford to spend $100 on a book right now, hopefully I can get in by the end of the campaign.
You can help fund without buying a book.
They won't charge your account until after the Kickstarter campaign is over with next month.
my dude's gonna regret posting this update this soon when he wakes up in the morning
the first book was a drunken celebratory hourly Huzzah
You will be famous for authoring the very first book on Chinese "ghost guns" . Bravo!
$1,000,000 stretch goal: everyone just gets a Chinese mystery pistol.
🤠👍
I can't believe it's been almost 7 years since you introduced us to the BrowningsBrowningsBrownings Mauser pistol.
Ordered with a poster. A Christmas present to myself. Thank you so much for collecting all of this data!
Wow two updates in one day
It's at 476K at this moment, so Ian's prediction of not blowing through everything in a day is juuust about to become invalid :P
Ian is rolling in the dough! Time to buy more French guns!
rolling in it might be an over statement.
@@Sir_Godz Understatement, he is drowning in it and the lifeguard can't see him because more keeps coming.
@@lol500000 some people stand in the darkness.. afraid to step into the light..
Right as I’m watching the first stretch goals video. Glad to see yet another book doing so well!
Yesterday I said I would have to pass on the opportunity to get a book. Well... something really good happened to me today, and now I have the money. I bought the Purple signed edition and I added a Chassepot to Famas for good measure.
I am sure this will be a great book just like the first one was, and Ian deserves every cent. It's well worth it.
It would be nice if a gilded sheet of Zhang Zongchang's poems were included with his bio section.
$1.5 million. lol. That'd be incredible.
I'd kill for that
Ian, you ought to know by now that we love anything you do and are more than willing to pay for it. ;) Congratulations on another very successful Kickstarter!
You have such fantastic supporters.
Lets be honest, The only Stretch Goal we want is the Cocktail booklet unlocked.
How to Drink meeting How to Gun?
Amazing news! Ian, you deserve all the success coming to you 💪🏼
I did it! And I picked up a signed 2nd edition of the Chassepot to FAMAS. I really regret not getting the Kickstarter edition.
I'm still at war with myself over whether I want the purple Kickstarter cover with the goofy writing or the gray retail. I think it'll be the purple one in the end.
That said, congratulations on blowing past all of these markers, that is truly fantastic!
Congrats Ian!
Keep going, Ian!👍👍 great work, great book! I always like your video!
Congratulations to Ian and the entire Headstamp crew!!!! Eagerly awaiting Throneycroft to SA80, which is supposed to arrive next Tuesday.
DOG MEAT GENERAL YESSSSSSSSSS. Absolute Mad lad he is.
Ian, I’m surprised after mentioning Fairbairn your not including a reprint of his seminal book on knife fighting, “Get Tough”. I still have my copy I bought decades ago, and i still remember the pictures. The SOE, and the OSS were trained from this book, and it be an awesome piece of history.
I just signed up and the counters are still spinning. I've enjoyed Ian's episodes on the handmade pistols so I'm looking forward to the book.
Well done Ian !
At this point I’m just buying every book to have the complete Headstamp set. They’re fantastic quality.
Ian I can't think of a better idea for your next book, such a cool topic. Glad you are breaking new ground and hopefully for your next book its regarding another unique topic..
I love to see ian doing so well
If I had the money id for sure back it but just love seeing so much support for what m sure is gonna be a fantastic book.
Looking forward to Max's book!
So excited for the profile about Zhang Zongchang! Hopefully there's some readings of his poetry haha
I hope I am able to get the book when it comes out, here’s to hoping, love your content Ian
Man, I might just get this. My Grandfather was kicking around The New Territories in the 1930s...selling beer to the Americans, Brits, and anyone else who was kicking around at the time. Worked for a brewery that was run by the Germans...
...which was actually kinda handy, because the Japanese wanted to place an AA gun on top of it, he said "No" because that would make it a target, and the main guns my grandfather was involved with at the time were the Arisakas the soldiers use to mock-execute. The Germans, mentioning the...delicate...relationship between Germany and Japan at the time, saved him. The Japanese knelt my grandfather down, racked the bolts...and then told him to get up and go.
He was on a boat bound for Australia in a few hours.
I like how this video just came out and it already reached this goal!
Ian just keeps dropping awesome projects
I'm really looking forward to seeing what other countries get this kind of treatment with their firearms history
My guess is thr next book will be on the Afghan firearms. If not, I think it'd be a really cool topic
I really wish you the best, you deserve it all.
While a good attempt to space out the stretch goals was made this time, I feel like Ian should just give in to how ravenous people are for these books and on the next release just have all these stretch goal videos pre recorded. So you don't have to make a whole bunch of update videos on the same day ahahaha.
Hello Ian! Love your content!
"So how much we need for this kickstarter"
"YES!!!!"
Your killing my wallet Ian. Just ordered. But the one I can't wait for is the silencer book!
You know what's great about Forgotten Weapons Kickstarters?
You get what you paid for, in a reasonable period of time, every time.
Pre ordered a nice looking book with non words on the cover. Is there going to be a tipsy livestream with your Dad at the end of the Kickstarter campaign again?
Outstanding Guys 👊🤘
Just checked and it's at $550,362. Hope there's more cool extra content to go!
backer #64 for this book but I still have not received a shipping status on the SA80 book.
We are still shipping Thorneycroft orders - you will get yours soon!
@@ForgottenWeapons any chance a book with C & Rsenal is in the future?
@@williamflowers9435 I hope so; subscribe to C&Rsenal and keep up to date with their Unloaded podcast. We love you Othias, May, and the Gang!
This is Too Cool for School, I'm massively looking forward to December now Ian Mate!
That name thing would be great for a present to someone.
The strech goal I'm gunning for is the FAMAS Mudtest.
#mudtesttheFAMAS
P. S very proud of how far you've come Ian, and I'm excited for your new book.
Let's make Ian have to make a few more these
Just realized u have 2.1m subs, doesn't seem that long ago that u hit the 1st million
If you put the municipal police in there, I have to buy the book.
It’s now at $500,000, I’m really glad it’s going this well, hoping to snag a copy myself
I have backed this project, but, as with the earlier ones, the huge cost of postage to the UK (plus likely tax and handling costs) makes this a very costly book - I understand it's a big, heavy package, but surely there must be a cheaper way of shipping outside the US? (Maybe ship 100 copies to Mr Ferguson? :) )
Whew... Just got the Collectors Kickstarter version - not many left. Will you be signing the book itself like Chassepot to FAMAS rather than the signed card for the Thorneycroft book?
Sorta wish I have finished the first book before getting another.
But hey, got mine!
Captain W.E. Fairbairn & Eric Sykes of the F.S. Commando knife fame designer and knife fighting skills of WW2 🇬🇧.
Addicted to these videos!
looks like we are getting shanghai
I hope you reach all the Warlord profile stretchgoals
I wish I could afford a copy. Will probably try to get one once I find a job..
Ey, goodmorning
Can u speak about the hafdasa z-4
Is so weird to see videos about that weapon, smg (?
Keep great work, Ian! 牛逼(new B)awesome!
I wonder if this one will cross 1 million
Which stretch goal causes John Browning to physically manifest in my house?
"And at the 4.5 quadrillion dollar mark we'll develop the technology to bend time and space so that John Moses Browning will physically manifest in your home on command."
So...
Those stretch goals are done
It is now 16:47 CET and we're at $605,000 and change... The half a million has come and gone, Ian. :-)
Picked up one after I saw the revolver section! Added a copy of SA-80 as well. Let’s get this one over $800K!
I have never before been so keen to pledge on something.
Kickstarter has a project book on the Soviet Airborne (345th Regiment) in Afghanistan that might interest Forgotten Weapons fans
Next stretch goal: Ian gets sent to China to find more mystery pistols
On the one hand, yay free Ex Libris!
On the other... extra Ex Libris!
I know that feeling.
You have now surpassed the British Bullpup Kickstarter, you will soon surpass the French Rifles, we might have a new #1 publishing Kickstarter folks
lol the first video was posted while I was getting ready for work and I just got home from work and most of the stretch goals are already met
Well, we're gunna get the Shanghai Police section at the very least
👍pozdrawiam
Damn, half a million dollars raised in a day!
Does anyone know if you can get a digital copy of any of the head stamp publishing books ?
yes
Will there be a version of the book I can buy that has the all the information without all the bells and whistles.just the information.
How is Dogmeat General not a fallout character?
How much funding needed for a my Little rpk pop up book😁 but in all honesty, i would never steal a book from you🍻
When is the Russian Avtomat book coming???
Is there no end to this sanity
Still waiting for update videos with berries and furballs. 😉😉😁
I really love these books. Can not wait for the Russian book and hope to see an american book in the future
The Ruski book will break every record
I wonder if a book on Canadian rifles would fly? Like the Ross straight pull, and the Cooey .22 rifles.
@@tarmaque i personally would love that or Swiss or German... Well i guess the list could go on
@@zenkiz33 The trick is to do something that hasn't been done to death. A similar book on Mausers would just be retreading old ground, although Ian has said there's a possibility of WWII Japanese Rifles and/or pistols. Someday. (I believe his father wrote a short treatise on Japanese rifles) One thing I've mentioned before is South American Military arms. Like Argentine Mausers and so forth. It could be a great book.
@@tarmaque yeah i totally understand. Truthfully anything they put out through headstamp publishing is going to be awesome. So i'm juat looking forward to whatever they put out.
Cool
Ian, you really didn't see the surge coming?
When will we actually be charged?
Fuck. Yes. Give me the bookmark ribbon.
It's 9:42 PM Eastern Time - How much had Chassepot raised to this point?
Damn it, I am moving soon. Can’t order now
Have it shipped to me. I'll look after it while you "move."
Kickstarter verifies your shipping address a bunch of times and you get a chance to ensure it goes to the right place prior to final shippment. I’m moving in september and will be doing just that
praise gun jesus
