Thank you! I’m new to weaving and my loopy, messy edges almost caused me to give up but I gave this a try. It has made all the difference and has given me the confidence to continue to improve. I have learned so much from you and you on line classes are priceless.
OMG, Kelly… you’ve opened my eyes to so many weaving possibilities! I’m especially grateful for this tip for the thread in a hole solution, I now have perfect tight edges on my weaving project 🤩 I’m seriously considering joining your weaving school 🥰 cheers and greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 🌷
Thank you Kelly, this is a great trick, my edges are not perfect but every day they are better for which I am very satisfied, the success is largely due to practice following all your advice
THANK YOU SOO much for solving this annoying problem. I noticed this from the very first project I wove, just a few short weeks age. I couldn't understand why it was happening, and thought it had something to do with the fact that I was right handed, since the problem was always on my right side. Clipped that slot bugger and now all is perfect! You are the absolute best instructor. Stay healthy and enjoy your new home.
Like some of the other ladies one side was always neater than the other. This will be great on just a plain weave where I am not counting patterns. Thank you for this great tip.
I love your videos, Kelly. Your teaching skills are laced with patience, clear description and very are easily understood. I always feel As if I had just finished meditating when you are finished....what's not to like!
I've been having a problem with one side being neater and couldn't figure it out. I'm warping my loom today and will give this a try! Thanks for sharing!
And here I was thinking that I am the only weaver who had a loosey goosey string on one edge. I thought there was a problem with the way I have been warping. Thank you Kelly, once again you have come to my aid. I can't wait to try this out!💞
Fantastic tips! Your way of explaining is so easy to understand. Thank you. I’ve been trying to find out which size loom this is, SampleIt 40 or 25cm? looks a handy travel size.
Hi I'm new to weaving and I started a project of dish cloths and when I hem stitching I didn't do a over lock sitch I missed that part of the stitch so my question is will my hem come out when washed ? Tks
Great tip. I also make the first and last warp thread double thickness. It helps a lot.
That's a great idea!! Thanks

Great info. Will implement this into my warp preparation. Thank you.

You're welcome! 😀
Great tip! This has made a huge difference in my always having one looser edge.
Wonderful to hear!
Exactly what I needed. Thank you. Now to go practice.
Glad it was helpful!
I'm glad I saw this before I finished warping! thanks
You're welcome!
Wow Kelly, so simple and clear to understand. Thank you from Wisconsin.
You're welcome!
So glad for your closed captioning! For some reason I get no sound on this video. Good tip. Thanks !!!

I hope it helps 😊
I don't have much trouble with my edges mostly but this is a great tip. Thanks so much Kelly 😊
I'm pretty happy with my edges too, but it's such a pain point for a lot of weavers.
Thank you Kelly. I am “full size” warping up today for the hand wash towels. Looking forward to a better right hand edge.
Good luck!
Thanks I was wondering how to correct that problem.
You're welcome!
Superb! The simplest answer.....
What would I do for a pattern that calls for an even number of warp ends?
I'm wondering the same thing ;)
me too... wondering if it will throw off a pattern
I also wondering about the pattern.
That's one of the downsides - you have to go with an odd number of ends. If anyone has a workaround for that, please let us know! 😊
This is a great trick! Thanks!
You're welcome! 😊
Thank you soo much. 😉😉

Great suggestion, I'll be using this often.
Great to hear!
Excellent, thank you!
You're very welcome!
Fantastic tips! Your way of explaining is so easy to understand. Thank you. I’ve been trying to find out which size loom this is, SampleIt 40 or 25cm? looks a handy travel size.
It's the 25cm (10")
Thank you that's a great tip
You're welcome Sue!
Well this explains a lot.. thank you!😀
You're welcome!
This is brilliant 😁
Thank you!
Thank you, Kelly❣️
You're welcome!
Can you tell me what are the "sticks" you are using? It looks like they make it easier to start straight lines. :) Thanks!
The sticks I use at the start of the weaving are cardboard separators. I use them to help organise the warp and close the gaps before I start weaving.
My edges are always neater on the weaker hand side... Thanks for this video, Kelly!
You're welcome! 😊
I was pondering this and am stuck on how cutting the one thread won't leave an unattached thread when you get to the end of the weave.
That hasn't happened to me, but if it did, I would just weight the loose thread over the back of the loom. Easy ☺️
Brilliant!
Lightbulb, forehead smacking moment! Why didn't I watch this video sooner? Thank you for all your clean edge videos.
You're welcome, Don!
Yes indeed.
Since you are dropping a thread, would this be a problem when using a pattern?
Yes, that would have to be taken into account 😊
Could that thread have been cut off instead of untiying it?
I guess so, I just like to retie the bunch to tension it nicely again after removing the slot thread.
Oi como compra.un tea
Thank you
You're welcome!
Magic👯👐👐👐👐
What loom do you recommend for beginners?
A rigid heddle loom is the ideal beginners loom 😊
@@KellyCasanova ok, thank you!
Hi I'm new to weaving and I started a project of dish cloths and when I hem stitching I didn't do a over lock sitch I missed that part of the stitch so my question is will my hem come out when washed ? Tks
Hemstitch is pretty good at holding in place. How did you finish it off when you were done stitching?
@@KellyCasanova I haven't taken it off my look yet I will zigzag it with the sewing machine I hope this will lock in the hem.
Loom
Thank you.
