It doesn't make sense because it's poorly-conceived. The fact that you must depend on the other person having it turned on strips it of any real usefulness or value, IMO.
So I share an Apple ID with my daughter so she can have a phone but not be able to text/call anyone without me knowing.. would this stop her from receiving my messages to & from my best friend? We usually use a different app for that but have always wondered if there is a way to keep my messages private.
Have you activated this feature yet? 😄
Why I can’t activate this feature? Like do I need some other devices?
@@JohanLiebert-i9y you will need to update to iOS 17.2 to access this feature.
@@Micah-Woods it’s ok now I fixed it

@@Mask3D_scpp what phone do you have?
@ iPhone 6s Plus
@Mask3D_scpp that's why. You need a newer iPhone to take advantage of this.
How does this affect financial notifications we receive daily? How can we verify them?
You probably wouldn't be able to since the financial entity uses push notifications.
I’m still not sure in moving forward with contact verification
it makes not sense to me 😅

@Nightflyer720 I can definitely agree on that front! It should work effortlessly amongst iPhone users due to Apple ID.
Or they could just share their contact card file with you in an iMessage or email 🤷🏻♂️
This would be ideal if it were for financial institutions, the same way they are verified on social media, it should apply for them here on iMessage

@@hannahcampbell8511 if you use a messaging app outside of iMessage, this doesn’t apply to you. This is only for iMessage.
I don’t really understand, can you do another video to explain it better please? 🙏🙏
Try watching the video a couple more times. 😄
is it Apple's own way of PGP but only to identify numbers/contacts ? XD
Nice vid btw
Appreciate you watching and supporting!
Thanks
No problem!
Is it basically for catfish protection?
That’s one way to look at it 😂
What does this do?
I explain in the video. 😄
@@Micah-Woods yup js watched the video I understand now 😀
@@YourIocaIretard I'm glad I could assist! 😄
You think you’ve explained it lol.
REally dont understand what this accomplishes. Why isn't it automatic. What are disadvantages of using this?
I also hope Apple will automate this! There’s really no disadvantage. It’s a security feature.
I can't see it in my settings
@@princesstetteh297 depends on your phone also.
