Guten tag... You guys do some fine work with that stone. I like some of the technique utilized in achieving the final product! It would be interesting to have an East meets West knap-in and see what we can learn from each other... Danke!!!
Propably nothing but similar brain. If people experimenting on these things came up with it, it is very likely at least some people living the stone technology life did it as well.
Vielen Dank, LG Paul.
Probably not there is no evidence for it from what I know and chipped flint if left as it is after a flake is sharper the point should probably break in both situations any way axes were ground to make them las longer cause the wood does not get stuck in the areas in the flakes and bull the edges
Great video! Knappers are the same wherever you go - great bunch of guys & girls.

Wonderful post and thank you for sharing it!
You guys do a great job at making those axes! Would love to try some of that flint! Looks like it knapps well! Thanks for showing off your work!
You guys have some skill! IDK how in the world you knap a square without getting diving hinges.
Does the weighted sled seem to make the grinding process noticeably faster?
That axe grinding machine is a great idea. Any evidence of something like this being used in ancient times??

Trifft ihr euch jedes Jahr zum knappen? Bzw. wie oft und in welcher Gegend?
Where do you source your flint? Those nodules are incredible
can someone tell me where can I order some of this flint?

Es gibt regelmäßige Treffen, z.T. privat wie hier, aber auch nach Anmeldung öffentliche(re). Guck mal auf Archaeoforum.de unter "Pöckertreff". LG M

Memories from our fore time
were spearheads ground in the same fashion
no
it was usually only done with axes, for most other things it would be too much of a hassle
