- Today’s feature is a rapper that’s evolving into hip hop’s black cat of sorts, finding his way through loops within the street code to still be one of the biggest rappers in the game today. For a second time, Gunna survived snitch allegations on his way to even bigger success thereafter. First in 2010 when he did an interview with a CNN reporter, talking about a then open case involving his cousin who received a life sentence for the murder of Jasmine Lynn, that according to Gunna he never committed. Another man was arrested in the case but was later found not guilty, but in Gunna’s own words, “This man let my family member go down for something he did,”. Many believe because he’s specifically pointing the finger at a person, Clarence Carter, who was once arrested for the crime, implicates Mr Carter and can be harmful in his defense case that that’s snitching. His 2023 Gift and a Curse album was a fork in the road for Gunna, as he was involved in snitch allegations once again prior to its release, this time video footage of him in court accepting a plea deal with the state in exchange for admitting that YSL is indeed a gang and he witnessed YSL committing crimes, and also that a gun and some weed found in a car with he and young thug was not his, sideways making it obvious who those possessions had to have been. His plethora of Yes Ma’ams, infuriated the entire rap community and its fans when he was set Scott free for his testimony and plea, while Young Thug his co defendant is still sitting in jail fighting for his life. In 2002, R Kelly survived an actual publicly available $extape with a 13-14 year old. Why wouldn't a rap artist survive "snitch" allegations??? Bottom-line, most of us dont care about the personal life of the artist. Just the music. But Gunna's music is weak af. So I dont know why he is successful.

When he first started to blow up they were already talking about that whole SA on a minor case he had so that’s what started the whole troll thing happened. Think about this both gunna and 69 told in the courtroom on record yet when they bothered got out only gunna’s music was promoted by the record labels and 69’s music was blackballed even though 69 had several top 5 singles and albums.
