The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is a church in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. According to traditions dating back to the fourth century, it contains the two holiest sites in Christianity: the site where Jesus was crucified, at a place known as Calvary or Golgotha, and Jesus's empty tomb, where he is believed by Christians to have been buried and resurrected.
After allegedly seeing a vision of a cross in the sky in 312, Constantine the Great converted to Christianity, signed the Edict of Milan legalising the religion, and sent his mother Helena to Jerusalem to look for Christ's tomb. With the help of Bishop of Caesarea Eusebius and Bishop of Jerusalem Macarius, three crosses were found near a tomb, leading the Romans to believe that they had found Calvary. Constantine ordered in about 326 that the temple to Jupiter/Venus be replaced by a church. After the temple was torn down and its ruins removed, the soil was removed from the cave, revealing a rock-cut tomb that Helena and Macarius identified as the burial site of Jesus. A shrine was built, enclosing the rock tomb walls within its own.
In 327, Constantine and Helena separately commissioned the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem to commemorate the birth of Jesus.
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre was built as separate constructs over the two holy sites: the great basilica (the Martyrium visited by Egeria in the 380s), an enclosed colonnaded atrium (the Triportico) with the traditional site of Calvary in one corner, and across a courtyard, a rotunda called the Anastasis ("Resurrection"), where Helena and Macarius believed Jesus to have been buried.
The church was consecrated on 13 September 335. Every year, the Eastern Orthodox Church celebrates the anniversary of the Dedication of the Temple of the Resurrection of Christ

My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this "calling" in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, "glide" over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water, and "see" the miracle which enfolds before us.

Dear Mr. Shaked. I watched your video of the Holy Sepulchre ,Jerusalm And I am so moved in emotion I thank you for teaching me more of What and how OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST was treated it always brings me to tear , I pray that Ruben Coles iii, DeAngel Jones will be completely well soon I will pray for them, I would also very much like if I could be in Prayer for I am in Great Need of Prayer ,I pray Daily and read the HOLY BIBLE for peace and comfort , Guidance and Wisdom . I pray my wounds on my feet will heal soon I have 3 Ulcers one on the left foot and two on the right foot I go to wound care once ever week now These wound started with the Eczema that I had and the Eczema was severe the worst that I ever had I have been under much stress with NOT knowing what happen too my brother and his well being it's been 12 Now since I heard from him I have written him sent greeting cards and gifts at the holiday season and I never get a reply in 2021 The gift cards I sent him and my nephew was returned so I gave them to the Church. I pray for my brother and Nephew and put them both in GOD Hand for protection and for there temporal needs .I am telling you all this so you could pray for my brother too, please his name is James and my nephew is JT, since my sister in law past away my brother has been stuck in anger and confusion I told him that he was blessed to have his wife Linda a few year longer she pasted away from kidney failure after a few years of having a transplant. My brother has always been close to his Christian Church attending service and active in being of help with events , when his wife Linda past away he became depressed and a recluse and then angry. Please pray for him and my Nephew as I do always. It will be much Appreciated. I Love my Brother very much and I want him to be close to the LORD again at this point since I haven't heard from him in so long I do not know . I wrote to you before Mr. Shaked and it was a few months ago I asked for a Cross and If you would please Take it to the HOLY Mother MARY to BLESS it at the Holy Sepulchre, PLEASE . I would be more than honored to but you many cups of coffee and Breakfast too if you would tell me how I can buy the Cross and for you to have it Blessed, I pray that when my feet heal I will be able to move back home and have a place of my own apt again in Gaithersburg, Maryland or possible in the near by next city like Rockville, Md so I can be close to my Church and that I have been going to before the Pandemic for 20 years it's a Methodist Church and I also go to spend time in pray at St Martins Catholic Church. I LOVE the LORD with all my Heart, Mind and Soul and The Blessed Mother Mary. Jesus Is my ALL in ALL. .Thank you for listening sorry my message is so long thought I need to explain what I am going through so you would know I need a Crucifix to buy and be Blessed , Please can you do that for me. The title of this video is misleading. While this may be the most sacred site for some Catholics and some Orthodox Christians, millions of Christians do not follow their doctrines do not venerate the teachings of man, or church buildings. The true Christian believes what the Bible teaches, and also follows all the commands, just as the Savior taught. Repent and be saved.
