South park is like a cultural time capsule. Just so perfectly encapsulates whats going on at the time its aired.
Which makes watching 90s episodes with your older kid, that much more confusing. Have to explain everything. But in a way, sometimes that’s a good thing. To think, there was once a time when the world was a lot less accepting of homosexual dogs as pets. Don’t want to explain the Jared from Subway episode though.
That’s exactly why they’ve stayed so popular for 27 years. The current events angle. And it’s brilliant.
I can’t wait to show my grandkids south park as a cultural history lesson. Talk about a win win!
Like the early episodes where it poked at Janet Reno and Sally Struthers were a reflection of where the shift in America was going, but this episode in 2023, just shows how far America has fallen from grace. From innocent dark jokes to a full on social commentary on a real life culture war that nobody would ahve imagined in 2000. Further proof that the Multi Polar world is legit here to stay for a very long time bc it has gone out of hand now.

Saw this yesterday. It's a fun episode. The brilliant part of it is that while making fun of race-swapping characters, they unironically created a hilarious Race-Swapped Cartman; her scenes had me rolling and she really did act like Cartman.😂😂😂
That was the point. They are talking about lazy writing and relying on established properties when they go after Disney.
