My eternal hero, steve morse. Few people cover his songs. It is difficult even to imitate. But you did pretty well.
The low on the neck machine gun section was awesome. When Steve plays it he makes it look easy, his efficient fingering technique flawless.
he's the king!
This is awesome , now I can spend 20 years trying to play it :-)
The most incredible guitar player I've ever seen is Morse. I've seen hundreds of concerts too, and Morse is the best. I can really appreciate this guy player Morse vey well.
Amen to that
Love Morse, but let's add Holdworth to that List, and McLaughlin...
@@antidote7 Totally agree.
@@markrobertdevison1227 Are you catching his current tour?
Steve Morse Band opening for the Dixie Dregs...Double whammy.
@@antidote7 I am, I have seen Morse in different lineups at least 8 times. My favorite guitarist.
Playing all these notes is impressive for sure. But here's the thing, what separates Andy from most of the people commenting here is his relaxed and effortless attitude. His "mental game" sort of. He's playing the stuff he trained himself to do without, and that's the kicker, his mind getting in the way. That's what impresses me the most...
Omg best tune on the planet of all time. I will never be able to play it, but I sure enjoy this
incredible cover! Morse is, for many reasons, the absolute KING of the guitar shredders! cleaner than anyone, just as fast as anyone, and let's not even talk about his arpeggios....and it is all concealed in absolute class and compositional skill....LEGEND!
Absolutely true
😂😂😂Well, if you know only 10 guitarists that's what gonna happen. Morse plays this piece ways sloppier - just see his live shows. Oh, and Shawn Lame sweeps the floor with Morse. Not to mention Anton Oparin
In the words of Devin Townsend from Steve Vai's "Juice"...."Shut up, we know you can play" 🤣😎🤘🤘 (absolutely dynamite playing man!! GEEZUS!!)
I first heard about this tune in a guitar mag back around 1989/90 (maybe '91?) ....but it was only last year that I actually said the name out loud and realized it was not named after a location in the Hawaiian Islands or the Philippines ... but was a play on "Too Many Notes"! --- 30 bloody years I've been conjuring up exotic locations in my head every time I saw this tune mentioned!!!!
To get that close to the sun and still live? You are a bad man. Anything by Mr. Morse is more than I can hope to replicate.
That’s some incredibly fine playing, you could say Andy W serves the Tenderloin steak of shred 🤩
I've always said that when it comes to extreme skillful arpegios, there is nothing like morse. God, I've seen Morse himself having a hard time playing the non-distortion arpegios of this song. It's hard as hell. Steve Morse is a monster.
Shiiiit. I never thought anyone could come close to duplicating Steve's astonishing pick work but you my man are pretty damn close. I struggle like a bastard with string skipping and one note per string alternate stuff, murder on the hand! Well friggin done🤘
This is better than original. Better picker. Tidy and relaxed picking hand. Next generation guitar player. Also started out on the mandolin so this 1 note per string alternate picking comes easy to him.
@@stratosaurusrex3399sitting in his room though
Your are a sick sick man… wow! Obviously your agility on the instrument is great but the idea that you remember all of it amazes me. Moreover, I’ve heard you play excerpts from other things, it’s just crazy. Thanks Dude!
Crazy
Andy I love you even nailed Steve’s tone!! Kudos man this was spot on. Great job 🤘🏻🎸🤘🏻
Absolutely Wonderful! As always
I looped it and played along with my bass! Amazing Andy
Have always loved that tune. The name of the tune alone is perfect!
I could probably play the B.B. King version of this...
MAster :O!!!Maaaajesty :O!!!
Um wtf that was sick I need to learn this at half speed and I’ll be happy 😂
Holy fuck. That even harder than it sounds.
😮🎉
That playing was clean as f*ck
Great job
Too many people Don't know who Steve Morse is, or was before Kansas
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuudge! Rippin bro! I wish I had the time, patience and skill to be this good.
Awesome, as always! I'm your fan, great inspiration!
Ahyeah!!!!!!!!
Hey, Andy, if you haven't already heard it (you probably have), check out Deep Purple's "Cascades: I'm Not Your Lover Now." Steve does a similar arpeggio section in unison with Jon Lord, except it's straight 16ths. It's also really fun to play.
You the man, Andy!
Wow that was amazing 🔥
Just awesome.
Wow !
Steve is in the top 10 of my all time favorite guitarist. Really digging the rabbit hole you went down. 😎
You keep that shit up.... you gonna become my favorite guitar player.
Andy, you make it look easy! Inspiring, my friend.
Awesome great music song. Great audio 👍
You did it! Full props from a mad Steve Morse fan (since probably before you were born.)
This song got me hooked on guitar.
Notes are so clean 😍 Suberb playing sir.
Jeeeeez... "Hatten av" as we say in Sweden.
AWESOME!
Makes it look so easy. God damn!
Mortal bro!! Steve are amazing and you too
Phuuuu … that sounded hard. Cudos 🙏
You sir are a beast.
You nailed it
Holy cow Andy!
Wow. No words.
Jesus dude! That was sick!!
Badass!!
#badass
Superhuman skills
Any chance of a break down of some the key themes and picking techniques? Awesome performance
Wow, I can't imagine trying to tackle this beast. I always loved the solo from Highland Wedding on that album. The song starts out slow, but the synchopated celtic licks are pretty unique among guitar instrumentals. My little brain can't comprehend what's going on there. Does it make sense to a bluegrass player?
Holy mother of God 🤟🤟🤟🤟
Maravilhoso Trabalho Maravilhoso
Andy ...is there any possible way you could show us Steve's lick/run from the Dregs track "Ridin' High" (from the album 'Industry Standard') it happens at 1;35 into the track .... a real ear twister and finger twister!
No
I’ll check it out!!
It's hard to play, but cool to play!!!
DUDE! Without a doubt the most impressive, kick ass , balls to the wall shit I’ve seen you play! 🤯😱🤯😱🤯🤯🤯
Of course I’m a Steve Morse fanatic! Seen him several times BITD! Dregs& Solo stuff.
:35-:55…🤯
Killer work. What did you think of Andy Timmons Cry For You opener for guitarvivo?
It was brilliant!
I would appreciate it, if somebody actually posted a bass tutorial on this one!
How did you get that tone? Playing was top notch too! Beat cover of this I’ve seen yet. Would be so awesome to hear you jam with Steve.
My wampler gearbox into a suhr Bella!
Can Steve Morse even play this live anymore? Haven't seen anyone play this in one take without edits. Amazing Andy ... so good!
@@marcos_c_m Exactly.Steve has a lot of years behind him and no one cant expect from him to play like when he was younger. In my book he is great composer and musician unrelated to his guitar skills.
@@srdjanbosnjak7413 Totally agree with you. If you removed all his solos, his songs would still be great! His compositions are so melodic!
Fucking beast!
Wow. Played so well. Possibly with less errors than the man who composed it.
I wonder if Steve liked Malmsteen
Dude. Dude.
He makes this look like child’s play
Are you hybrid picking the cleaner barre style arpeggio bit?
Check my episode on “Steve Morse made easy”
What song is at the beginning before tumani notes
Show me the way
Thats it...I’m throwing my guitars out!!!
Yeah yeah whatever that's great an all but can you play Mustang Sally??
Monster Player! I quit-;)
hybrid picking the clean arpeggios for shame LOL...j/k that part is pretty much impossible
Telecasters can play anything. I hated strats.
Has potential but needs to work harder and apply himself. Lol
Always think the same thing when I watch him play. I'm like "man, if he'd only practice a bit more..." but he is getting there!
@@droidfan
Yeah slowly slowly, it might be a stretch but i honestly believe he could play Wonderwall or even House of the rising sun. one day, anything is possible.
@@martynspooner5822 hahahaha lol lol
@@martynspooner5822 anyways…. Here’s wonderwall
