I saw a comment from Michael Ota, but it isn't showing up in this feed. Here is his comment: "Texas2Tires Sargent told me the seat is only lower by .06". So do you get the .09 inch from the seat being narrower by the tank?" My answer, I got the numbers off the BMW and Sargent websites as BMW Stock seat 32.3 inches (820mm) Sargent Seat 30.8 inches (782mm). I hope that answers your question. For me at 5'8" it is very much noticeable as my feet are now pretty much flat on the ground. The stock seat my heels were off the ground.
You mentioned carrying a 12-volt tire inflator in that rear seat fairing. The BMW CanBus system limits current flow from the DIN accessary plug that is installed just under the right side of the seat, so you can't use it to power an electric vest or a standard battery charger. How do you connect your inflator to your RS? Did you install a direct-to-battery 12-volt plug on your bike? Or does that inflator work with the CanBus system?
Thank you for the comment / question. It connects directly to the battery posts not the DIN. I’ve tested it a couple times and it works fine.
I found this interesting, because I fitted the BMW low seat (760mm) vs the standard (820mm). Obviously, it meant I could reach the ground more easily; it also meant I am more 'in the bike'. The COG of me + bike is lower, my confidence is higher. Also, wind blast was eliminated as I am lower vs the screen (MRA Vario touring screen). Your Sargent seat has more padding I think, though I haven't had any discomfort.
Thanks for watching and commenting. My Sargent uses really dense foam, so to the touch it feels a bit hard compared to the stock BMW seat. However, it is much more comfortable on longer rides. I too feel more in the bike especially because I also have the Sargent pod on the back. The seat lowered me down about 1.5 inches. Only complaint is my legs are now a little cramped.
Does it get rid of that bucket seat feeling?
No the Sargent seat is more of a bucket seat feel as you are sitting down in the seat. The stock seat is higher so you end up sitting more on top of the bike.
@@Texas2Tires ok because anytime I ride my bike I’m sitting on the front part of the seat and my nuts are my cushion. I was wondering if this seat at least gets all of your butt instead of just the gouch.

It’s mainly going to depend on how tall you are and how long your arms are.
