I'm definitely taking the advice from one of the cohosts and will start re-reading the Alchemy of Human Happinness. I was fortunate to go to some of the reading groups for the Fusus and other talks given by Stephen Hirstenstein in London. It's definitely a treasure of knowledge and wisdom which even though I sometimes lose focus and find myself lost in the labyrinths of life, its a truth to which I always return.
It is great talk for deep understanding of the subject. I have ibn Arabi,s great books since 15 years. They are very deep in true divine spiritual sense. Thanks to all of you for enlightening us on this great subject.
Is there something taught by Ibnul Arabi which you read or PERFOME you will actually feel the divine presence or any kind of spiritual experience.? I Just want to be sure that Ibnul Arabi was on the right path before devoting myself into him. Because accepting his beliefs is also a great risk in my spiritual life
For a seeker of reality / spirituality, it is profound discussion. Did not know that Ibne Araby was such a deep thinker. Every human being has the capability of attaining this realization that we are and should be in a state of gratitude to THE CREATOR. And this brings in deep sensation of PEACE & HAPPINESS.
Given the time limit in a precious conversation like this: When we go off on a tangent or a side track what allows that to work rather than impede? One key to this is to ask the question and keep it available when need be all along the way. That question is: What roughly is the essential question that we have before us? With this in the back of our mind we can ask of ourselves about any tangent or idea that might pop up in our mind during the conversation. We can ask: Will this diversion or idea help with clarifying the question and help the unfolding of the answer/s to this question or will it most probably not? It is a balancing act and one of subtle discernment. However if we keep it in mind, the precious little time will less likely go to a waste of time. Again it is a question of balance, not too tight and not too loose. On the whole you guys do a good job of it. G. I. Gurdjieff once said: "In the course of our talk we must (need to) gradually mark the signpost of a productive conversation." Thanks be and keep up this good work.

Ibn Arabi and Soufisme in general is more than ever an actual subject , especially after the paradigm of modern astrophysics and the non sense of creative chaos , look to all these infinite constants, the least deregulation of a decimal can shoot the univers to unknown realm which we are not aware of , constants like plank, speed of light, Boltzmann ,thousands of others also in biology that moves the universe . and the impossibility of them to align in one dash board without the interference of supreme creator/pilot.

First of all his prophet had never reached the heavens because all the verses that speak about that were not addressed to Muhammad. And there is no way to learn how to ascend to heaven through studying people like Ibn Arabi, because ascensions only happen for a reason and only to whom God TRUST. You can speak as much as you like and waste time as much as you like. Human perfection can never happen through Alchemy or Sufism or Mysticism etc.., it can only occur through the heart and it already happened several times on an individualistic level. However unfortunately the collective perfection will never happen because the levels of arrogance, ignorance and greed in the majority of world population have reached the points of no return. Ibn Arabi and Muhammad have nothing to do with divinity.. They were merely tools used by the divine to deliver messages that not only helped to shape the future of the human race but also deeply convicted the two men as they fell into the traps of their own egos. The divine work via its own timing, for example it can deliver a cryptic message to Lincoln but its meaning can only understood by Obama decades later! No one can decipher the divine code without winning God's trust. God would never ask for faith to be spread by force. God would never allow a creature to equal in value 4 or 14 other creatures. And if you understand what I mean you would know that God can never allow someone who promotes polygamy and the use of force to reach heaven. Everything in Muhammad's lifestyle contradicts Jesus teachings. Muhammad was pro-worldly life while Jesus was pro Kingdom of God which will force itself eventually on this world which has been all the time a place of test and vetting or in another word a space to allow humans to create their eternal selves or lose the chance. To be or not to be? It has always been the question and we have been given the freedom of choice to decide by our own actions: to be or not to be!
"However unfortunately the collective perfection will never happen because the levels of arrogance, ignorance and greed in the majority of world population have reached the points of no return." -> Your comment proves exactly this. It reveals greed in the sense that you seem to be just another religious adherent trying to convince people of your own prophet / tradition (here: Jesus). It reveals ignorance because you obviously have only dealt with the matters discussed here in a superficial manner. And greed and ignorance together could be labelled "arrogant", couldn't they? So you are actually confirming that you yourself belong to that mass of people who suffer from "the levels of arrogance, ignorance and greed." So, yes, you are right, one has to be careful as not to fall "into the trap of one's ego."
