Excellent suggestion! I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences on operating in risky and hostile places Tristan, I think it'd get a good amount of user engagement too.
Yeah DUBAI it’s self is limited, but the region is huge!! I have been a captain in the Middle East for 15 years. If you want help for a bit of adventure and fun on a yacht pls get in touch.
My only question would be, what about unique anchorage spots. Dubai is fine if you don't want to leave the marina, or city. But what about spots to visit, say within say 20-100 miles distance? Then i guess how safe are the waters once you leave the marinas?
You talked a lot about Dubai as a tourist destination. From a Yachting perspective, it is next to zero/nill. Nowhere to you nothing to see compared to the Med and the Adriatic. No nice place to visit. I lived there 6 years, so I do have some experience to speak from. BTW 'so many quiet areas' why do you think that is? Indeed, there is nothing outside the marina and city life.
I think promoting Dubai is wrong This shouldn’t be put on UA-cam It’s nice that’s immigration doesn’t take so long, but it comes with a cost The government is corrupt, there’s no freedom to vote Many people are getting exploited As a super yacht captain(well educated man ) you should know better Either You are getting paid or the trip was covered by Dubai if you don't believe me say something negative in the video and see what will happen
If you are involved with a super yacht do you really think you care what goes on with the people on the bottom? You are really showing your personal level as well as your ignorance. Being "goody-two-shoes" did not make these people rich.
It's easy to think you are a saint when you've grown up in a perceived paradise. Western countries have some sewer level morals and underhand tactics if you get on the wrong side of them. In the Middle East, the rules and consequences are known and explicit but if you behave you shouldn't have any problems.

As a Captain, how would you handle going close to Somalia, Yemen and Iran/ the strait of Hormuz, in order to get to Dubai?

An interesting question! Would like to hear what the perspective of a P&I club is on this topic.
Actually, Oman is a good place for yachts to visit in some bays and small islands.
There is nothing for yachts to do in Dubai for longer than two days.

Enjoying the videos interesting as always Tristan
The best swimming and diving by far is in Oman, which is a 200km trip thru Iran Rev Guard waters in the strait.
Fuel is 85 euro cent
Nice to see you, captain. As for Dubai, it shouldn't exist, but unfortunately, it does
